"That's fair I suppose." Clay said with a shrug.
"Besides it's not like i'm not helping them at all or anything like that. You are here to smuggle some stuff to them to let them get some breathing room after all." I said casually.
"That reminds me, I don't gotta worry about this stuff blowin up or anythin right?" he asked and I shook my head.
"It's all stable. Shit your ship is more likely to blow than anything i'm sending with you." I said with a chuckle.
He was satisfied with that and I paid him upfront for the delivery along with a little extra in the form of my tequila. He loaded up the crates of guns and the shield generator and energy core before taking off from Promethea for Pandora. At the speed of his ship he aught to be able to slip into the planet almost unnoticed in about thirty minutes or so and meet up with Roland who was leading the resistance at the moment. From what I knew they had managed to hole up under the way out of date and barely functional Dahl Sanctuary area defensive shield.-
The problem is that piece of tech ran off of faulty energy cores while guzzling energy unreasonably fast even without actively fending off an attack. This compounded real fast to cause the cores to fry and need to be swapped regularly. I even had a sneaking suspicion this flaw was intentional to keep the people who used it coming back to Dahl for their cores. My shield generator had none of this nonsense going on with it and even better was fully compatible with all forms of shield arrays currently on the market.-
The core was also one I created using my Eridian knowledge that while not ridiculously powerful like the pure Eridian tech versions could last a few years before it needed replacing even if it was pounded by orbital fire twenty four hours a day nonstop. Once Roland got it up and running it would let my friends breath a bit easier as they'd have a safe place to rest. The weapons I sent would also help them arm their resistance with better than scrap they found. With that matter settled finally I turned to look at my current corporate effort, Bandit subjugation.-
As I had mentioned several times there were billions of bandits across the borderlands and unfortunately more than a few of that number lived on some of my planets. They were like rats scurrying in the shadows of my otherwise recovering populations. They couldn't just be culled either as they had a bad habit of banding together when under threat and that could prove dangerous. Normally I'd just send capture squads to gather them up and ship them off to Pandora where most would die anyways but that would likely trigger Jack since he was trying to wipe out all the "bandits" on the planet.-
The question then became what to do with the bandits since I definitely wasn't going to wait for Vater to convert them or not. To be frank I didn't want the league anywhere near my fucking planets. They were bandits at the end of the day and that just wouldn't work with my normal populations. I thought it over for some time before Atlas gave me an idea. Why not buy or find a new planet with no other people and just send them all there? With no ships or infrastructure it would be like sending all the bandits back to the stone age.-
Bandits could be crafty but I seriously doubted they'd figure out how to make ships in a short period of time. I had no intention of being cruel though and sending them to a barren planet but that was the full extent of my generosity. To find the best spots I layered a map of all the known inhabited or owned planets with a map of the galaxy and began to look for solar systems that might have the conditions for a human sustaining planet to form. I designed and sent out hundreds of unmanned scouting satellites across the galaxies edge using Eridian tech and the navigation data I had.-
I then set up a series of servers to collect the data sent back from these satellites and then compile it into the categories, habitable, Eridian interest, mining interest and barren. to the great fucking surprise of no one most of the new planets scanned fell into the mining interest and barren categories. Life planets were fairly rare in truth as just the right conditions needed to be met to produce life. Ironically most planets that fit that set of conditions were also places the Eridians had seemed to discover first.-
For the first month none of my satellites found a suitable planet for these bandits of my but that was fine since they were causing to many problems at the moment. Minor disruptions from raiding and the usual bandit activity is all. During this time on Pandora an uneasy balance with Jack and those resisting him was formed. Most of the "normal" people had taken cover under Roland's group, the Crimson raiders, stationed out of the Sanctuary mining ship that had been converted to a small city.-
Most of the groups members were the lance that had been abandoned by the old Atlas corporation and refused to join my company when I extended the olive branch. I'd bet they sorely regretted that decision now. Thanks to the shield around the city Jack could only harass the group a bit but not actually move to kill them all which seemed to frustrate him to no end. He was clever though and started sending out ads for the discovery of a new vault on Pandora to draw in vault hunters just to kill them on arrival as he controlled the major space ports and land based movement systems.-
By doing this he directly deprived Roland and the others of the only option for reinforcements they had all while digging for some vault that he had found. That last part frankly confused me as even if he got to this theorized vault he couldn't open it, I had the Pandora key with me still. I considered him trying to steal it but that would be rather hard as i kept my house stored on me at all times and the thing itself was bound to me so even if he somehow stole it he couldn't use it.-
Additionally the key itself hadn't been charged as I saw no reason why I should and unless he was hiding a siren in his back pocket instead of using her to fight his war on Pandora he couldn't do it himself. If anything though Jack was lucky I wasn't bothering him about his attacks on the league. Yeah that's right the ass had chosen to cull my leagues numbers since he was apparently coveting the Eridian ruins they were digging up.
