"Yeah, I know. The man hasn't exactly been subtle about his limbs uses." Roland said with a sigh.
"If you are worried about Hyperion or Jack grabbing the things you don't need to be. Anyone tried to take them off without permission and they'll be in for a VERY nasty surprise." I said with a grin.
"That's good to know. Come on, i'll show you what we are working with." he said relieved.
Sanctuary was dirty and a bit crowded from all the people hiding here from Hyperion and Jack.-
Things appeared calm on the surface but you could practically feel how tense these people were. Additionally the ones that seemed to recognize me all lit up in hope. Likely thinking I was going to throw my full support behind the resistance if I had to guess. They were wrong of course as I wasn't getting involved like that. I could get away with sending some sneaky supplies and gadgets on the down low but actually joining the fight wasn't happening. Not that it would be much of a fight to be honest. Jack might have pushed Hyperion to the forefront of progress but I was sitting on the entirety of the Eridians knowledge on engineering, we weren't on the same level.-
Roland wasn't showing me around the city to try and get my help anyways since he was well aware it wouldn't work. For him this was little more than a small but much needed break to play host to a friend. He showed me Zed's clinic, Moxxi's bar, Scooters garage and Marcus's shop before showing me the "main office" of the Crimson raiders. Calling it sad was a massive understatement. It was a tiny ass building that had two floors with the bottom floor appearing to be a laundromat of all things.-
The second floor was more acceptable but only barely as it had a holographic display table, a few radios for intel gathering, a few pieces of scattered paper with intel on them and empty pizza boxes on the counter. I was halfway tempted to just send Roland a whole ass building of shit to make the headquarters of his resistance actually decent but stopped myself.-
"And that's pretty much it, what do you think?" he asked after finishing his tour.
"I think I'm confused why you didn't drag the good shit out of the Crimson lance buildings to beef up your set up. I know I took most of the weapons and armor and all but there was plenty of other tech you could have used." I said honestly.
He shook his head and sighed "When Jack first started his campaign against everyone on Pandora those places were the first he hit. Anything not bolted down was taken and everything that was got busted up so no one could use it to stop him. The only reason he didn't get Sanctuary too is that the old shield in place kept his forces out." he said seriously.
"I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. The guy might have lost it a bit but he's not stupid. It makes sense he'd move to get rid of any potential obstacles before making his attack." I said with a slight nod.
"I won't say I regret what we did to him since I don't but I do regret that we didn't kill him when we had the chance." he said honestly.
I snorted at that "Obviously you'd regret that now that he's beating your ass like a fucking drum. Don't get me wrong you are certainly giving him a fight but you are losing slowly and painfully. Each bot you trash just gets replaced by another but when you lose a person that's one less person you have fighting. It doesn't take a genius to see that he's bleeding you to death." I said with a shrug.
"I know. We've been looking for a breakthrough point but every time we think we've found one it's either a trap or something happens that makes us fail." he said frustrated.
"Sounds like you aren't looking at the right places then. Break it down for me, let me see if I can't crack this trouble for you." I said casually.
He brightened up slightly at that and he pulls up the past plans they tried before and I had to admit they weren't slacking on their end at all. Slander, key infrastructural attacks, supply depot raids, tracking attempts, assassination attempts, the works. The flaw however was equally obvious with a single glance, they weren't hitting Jack where it actually hurt. All of these moves were here on Pandora and while the man himself was definitely here he wasn't going to just leave his really important stuff out in the open.-
It would be disguised as either unimportant or so loaded to the gills with defenses attacking that spot would be a more elaborate way to commit suicide. Additionally the biggest problem Roland was having with Jack was the moonshot drops from the space station.-
"I think you need to hit that station up there first. He might just bring another station from elsewhere to replace it but that should take a while at least. It would give you some breathing room for a time though, something you desperately need." I said honestly.
"You think I haven't thought of that? We don't have the fast travel codes to get there and any unidentified shuttle that even gets near that station is blown to bits." Roland said seriously.
"Yeah but what about space debris?" I asked with a grin.
He opened his mouth to retort but ended up shutting it as he really thought about it.
"Now that you mention it I've never heard of any debris getting blown up too. But how does that help us?" he asked with a frown.
"You get some Oz kits and hitch a ride on a bit of debris straight to the station. Security will probably be tight so expect to fight an uphill battle but if you can at least destroy the moonshot mechanism it'll give you a lot more breathing room. As for escaping so long as the fast travel up there isn't cut off you could take that. If it is though you might want to take the moonshot down before blowing it to bits." I said with a grin.
"Yeah but how will we get the debris to take us to the station?" he asked confused.
"That you can leave to me, consider it a favor. Just gather up whoever you are going to take quietly and without talking about it out of the jammer. I'm like eighty percent sure Jack is the one behind the angel and she could listen in otherwise." I said seriously.
