Roland didn't need to be told twice and hurried off to grab his team. While he did that I tossed out my house and went to my crafting room. I whipped up a few Oz kits while there along with a small signalless area shield to keep Roland and his people from going splat on impact. After that I set up a group of timed explosives for the mission that were of a very destructive quality, curtesy of the R&D department of my company. I myself wasn't great at chemistry so I didn't try synthesizing the stuff and left that to my subordinates.-
That said I did make sure I kept a decent amount in my house at all times because you never know when a good bomb would come in handy. Like now for example. The brilliance of this whole plan though was that the whole thing was exactly the sort of janky unhinged thing Jack would never see coming. Not that he could be blamed since how the fuck do you expect someone to effectively kamikaze dive at you using an uncontrollable chunk of space debris.-
The best part was that even if he assumed I had something to do with it he wouldn't be able to prove it since I'd make a point of being seen in the public space of Sanctuary while the mission was going on. Once the equipment was finished I waited for Roland to get back with his chosen group in the shabby building he called his main office. I got bored of doing nothing after five minutes of waiting I decided to take a nap. I was perfectly relaxed as I leaned back against the wall and let myself drift to slumber.-
I was woken up abruptly when Brick came crashing into the room like a humanoid typhoon.
"Alex! Hahaha!" he exclaimed with a wide grin as he patted me on the shoulder hard enough that it would probably break a normal persons bones.
"Good to see you too mate. Keeping busy I've been told." I said with a chuckle.
"Yeah I get to go out and rough up the local Hyperion mooks to keep them from messing with Sanctuary." He said proudly.
"Fits you to a Tee. Any interesting fights?" I asked casually as a few people in scuffed up lance armor came in.
"Nah, just a bunch of bitches. I keep asking Jack to send Wilhelm but he hasn't so far. I think he's just scared I'll win." he said confidently.
"I'd say it's a solid forty sixty chance of going either way from what I know about Wilhelm. Sixty on you by the way. Unlike him most of your power comes from your body and not tech so if he breaks something on you it's not a huge problem, same can't be said for him. You break something on him and it might cripple him entirely." I said honestly.
"There rust too." he said and I nodded.
"Took you no time at all to catch up huh? Suppose I shouldn't be surprised, you two always got along best out of all of us." A familiar female voice said.
"Lil? You sure it's a good idea for you to be here?" I asked the very not dead siren with a raised eyebrow.
"I took precautions when I came. No public appearances since I just teleported into the room below." she said confidently.
"So how's things been? I mean besides the consequences of your actions coming back to bite you and lets be real here everyone else in the ass." I said with a smirk.
"Oh just great, I had to fake my death and have to wage a one woman war on most of bandit kind to keep them from overrunning Roland and the others. Then of course theres those consequences you mentioned, those are especially fun." she said sarcastically.
"Sounds like loads of fun. Never had to fake my own death before but then again I haven't needed to either so, meh." I said with a chuckle.
"Yeah yeah I know you told me so. Don't need to rub salt in it." she said with a sigh.
"Seriously though why are you here? This plan shouldn't have anything to do with you, too risky." I asked seriously.
"It doesn't have anything to do with me. I just like being kept in the loop. Makes it easier to know when I need to make some extra noise to distract people." she said bluntly.
"That reminds me for whatever reason but have the league been causing you any trouble?" I asked and she grimaced.
"Yeah a bit. I get it though. They see you as the only real god so my whole Firehawk schtick touches a nerve." she said helplessly.
"Firehawk?" I asked curiously.
"Yeah cuz of the flames and wings and all that. Plus I don't exactly feel comfortable calling myself a demon." she said honestly.
I shrugged "You get used to it." I said casually.
"So what's this whole plan anyways? Roland told me it involves destruction but that's it." Brick asked curiously.
"Keep it quiet but he's taking a group of people to sabotage the space station Jack's been hammer Pandora with all this time. Going to hitch a ride on some space debris so they don't get blown up on approach." I said seriously.
"Where do you fit in here?" Lil asked confused.
"I've got the Oz kits and special barrier to keep them from splattering on the station on impact. Other than that I'll be the one flinging the debris to the station." I said honestly.
"That sounds sketchy as fuck." Lil said with a frown.
"It sounds awesome! How we do?" Brick asked eagerly.
"Gotta wait for Roland to finish gathering his team for the mission first. Then I'm flying you lot up to orbit to pick out a chunk of suitable floating debris. Once that's done you hitch a ride on it as I hurl it at the station. The rest will be a playing it by ear kind deal." I said with a shrug.
"What makes you think Jacks forces won't just blast the thing to pieces?" Lil asked with a frown.
"They haven't so far apparently. It would be pretty odd if they started randomly blasting debris out of nowhere. The barrier I got is a special one that cloaks signals so even if scanned the debris should pass without any issue." I said honestly.
