Chapter 24 - Chapter 24: The Final Nightmare part 1

Vode's eyes narrowed as he gazed up at the top of the three-story building, his heart racing with anticipation. Prince Ewuare's voice echoed through the air, taunting him, "Don't be so slow now, try and keep up or she won't make it." The darkness in Vode's head whispered sweet nothings, urging him to give in to his anger, "Let me just kill him." But Vode's response was resolute, "No, we are better."

With a deep breath, Vode focused his mind and tapped into the void within him. The air around him seemed to ripple and distort, as if reality itself was bending to his will. He walked through space, his body disappearing from the ground below, and appeared on the roof beside Prince Ewuare.

"Let her go, you mad man!" Vode barked, his eyes blazing with determination.

Prince Ewuare sneered, his eyes glinting with malevolence. "I will, oh yes, I will. After I'm done with you, I'll let her go off this building." He snapped his fingers, and roots burst forth from the walls of the building, ensnaring Vode's ankles.

Vode hissed, his anger flaring. "You devious snake!"

Still with a flick, Prince Ewuare summoned a gust of wind, sending Vode flying across the roof. Vode landed hard. But he refused to yield. He sprang to his feet, his eyes locked on Prince Ewuare and charged forward immediately.

The two of them clashed, their powers locked in a struggle. Prince Ewuare controlled the roots and wind with precision, summoning tendrils to ensnare Vode and gusts to knock him off balance. But Vode was relentless. He walked through space, his body disappearing and reappearing at will, always staying one step ahead of Prince Ewuare's attacks.

The scene fades.

Heartbeats, panting, sounds of objects crashing was all you could hear and the drums of the ancients bagan to follow their rhythm, yes! Lightening and thunder flashed and rumbled.

The curtain opens.

The air was electric with tension as Prince Ewuare and Vode faced off on the rooftop. The wind howled and the roots of the plants around them seemed to twist and turn, sensing the conflict to come.

Prince Ewuare, his eyes gleaming, he raised his hand and summoned a whirlwind. The air around Vode became distorted and spun around. Vode stumbled back, his eyes fixed on Prince Ewuare, as the whirlwind buffeted him with fierce gusts.

Vode was almost knocked off the building. With a fierce cry, he launched himself at Prince Ewuare, his fists flying in a blur of motion. Prince Ewuare laughed, his eyes glinting with amusement, and summoned a tangle of roots to ensnare Vode.

Vode struggled against the roots, his muscles bulging as he tried to break free. But Prince Ewuare's control was too strong, and the roots held fast. Prince Ewuare raised his hand, and a blast of wind struck Vode with incredible force, sending him flying high and he kept crashed on rooftop after rooftop.

Vode landed hard on another building he was sure something broke. But he wasn't defeated. With a fierce determination, he sprang to his feet and launched himself through space and right back at Prince Ewuare once more.

This time, Prince Ewuare was ready. He summoned a massive root to burst forth from the ground, its tip sharp as a spear. Vode dodged, his agility and quick reflexes allowing him to avoid the deadly blow. Prince Ewuare didn't stop, summoning root after root to strike at Vode. Vode's void seemed to pulse with power, sensing his determination. It kept on, and soon the rooftop became a maze of hell for mere man.
