The days following the incident with Father Freed passed peacefully. Asia adapted remarkably well to her life as a devil and a student, as well as living with Goku and Raynare. Initially, the Fallen Angel wasn't thrilled about an "intruder" interfering with her and Goku's "newlywed" life (as she called it). However, as the days went by, she grew fond of the adorable nun, whom she now protects like a wolf protecting her cubs.
One morning, on the way to school, Goku sensed a massive energy and stopped abruptly, startling his companions.
"Is something wrong, Goku?" Rias asked, worried by the Saiyan's serious face. The others looked at him with a hint of fear; Goku rarely wore such an expression.
"I sense a very powerful energy a bit further ahead, and it's superior to yours," Goku replied, shocking everyone.
"Does it belong to one of the three factions?" Akeno asked gravely.
"No. As strange as it sounds, it's human," Goku's answer left them speechless.
"Well, standing here with worried faces won't solve anything. Let's get closer," Raynare said calmly.
At the bridge near the school, a crowd had gathered. Goku noticed Saji and called him over; he ran up, looking nervous.
"Goku, you showed up at the right time," Saji said. "What's going on, Saji?" "There's someone looking for you... and she's problematic."
Their doubts were answered when a female voice shouted our hero's name from within the crowd. It was a young woman with long blue hair and a defiant strand sticking up. She had a stunning figure and wore a uniform with a very revealing neckline, carrying a fan.
"Hey, you! The one with the wild hair! You're the one they call Son Goku, the 'Shield of Kuoh,' right?" the young woman said, pointing at him. Goku felt a shiver down his spine; he hated that nickname.
"That's me... but who are you?" Goku asked with a sigh of resignation.
"I am the former Student Council President of Hakoniwa Academy, Kurokami Medaka, and I am here to challenge you, Son Goku!" she declared, opening her fan which had the word "Duel" written on it.
Medaka accused Goku of being a delinquent based on false rumors. To avoid harming bystanders, Goku asked her to move to a place where they could fight freely. Using Instant Transmission, he took the entire group to a vast rocky wasteland.
The Battle: Goku vs. Medaka
Medaka moved at a speed that surprised Rias's peerage, but Goku evaded every strike effortlessly. Realizing Goku was holding back, Medaka activated her Raijin Mode: her hair turned pink and her eyes red. Her power and speed spiked, reminding Goku of a Super Saiyan transformation, though much weaker.
Even so, Goku remained untouched. Medaka then entered her Kaishin Mode (pitch-black hair and intense red eyes), managing to land a flurry of blows that sent Goku flying. She slammed him into the ground, but Goku rose, enveloped in a red aura.
"KAIO-KEN!" Goku shouted.
With his power multiplied, Goku outpaced Medaka and knocked her unconscious with a single combo. Later, at the clubroom, Medaka woke up. Having experienced defeat for the first time, she felt a new sensation she identified as love.
"I love you, Goku! From this moment on, I will be your girlfriend!" Medaka announced. Rias and the other girls immediately declared war, and Goku's life became a battlefield of jealousy.
The Familiar Hunt
A few days later, the group traveled to the Familiar Forest. There they met Zatouji, the Familiar Master (who bore a striking resemblance to a certain eternal loser from a famous monster-catching series). Interested in the strongest creature, Goku asked about the Dragon King, Tiamat.
Despite warnings, Goku challenged Tiamat. The Dragon Queen, tired of devils trying to "tame" her, accepted the duel upon seeing that Goku only wanted a fair fight.
The battle was epic. Tiamat forced Goku to use Kaio-ken x2 to counter her dragon breath with a Kamehameha. Tiamat was defeated, but instead of forcing a contract, Goku asked Asia to heal her and invited her to train so they could fight again in the future.
Impressed by the Saiyan's strength and nobility, Tiamat took human form—a beautiful woman with jade hair and reptilian eyes—and kissed him.
"From now on, I will be your familiar. Take care of me," Tiamat said, sparking yet another jealous war among the girls.
