Chapter 18 - Chapter 18

I found myself floating in a White Void. Tez, Pandora, and Maelstrom all were by my side in spirit form, all of us looking around slowly.

"Where is this now…?" Tez mused, curious.

"Likely the transfer space between worlds," I murmured, glancing around before my attention was taken by the screen in front of me.

[Scanning Admin Black Sun for most suitable deity…]

"Hm…" I tapped my chin. "Wonder who's kid I'll be? I think Hades fits best, all things considered, but I'm not sure it would make me a big three child… Hermes would probably also be good for me, or Hecate."

"Those are three pretty different gods," Tez said drily. "You don't have a damned clue, do you?"

"Nope," I shook my head. "Could make me a child of Eros for all I know."

"You would be Cupid's child, Master," Pandora said in a teasing tone of voice.

"A mighty one such as my king should be a child of Poseidon, Lord of the Seas," Maelstrom grunted.

"Doubtful for Poseidon, but thanks for the ego boost," I told Maelstrom, before the screen changed.

[Scan complete!]

[Admin Black Sun shall become a child of Tezcatlipoca- Aztec God of the Night and Lord of Violence- for the duration of the mission!]

[Admin Black Sun temporarily obtains Shadow Manipulation!]

[Admin Black Sun temporarily obtains Weapon Talent (All)!]

[Admin Black Sun temporarily obtains Flame Talent!]

Silence.

All four of us stared at the screen in silence…

Before Tez began to laugh loudly.

"Hahaha! Oh, yes! Thank you, Chatroom! You're the best!" He grinned savagely and turned his golden eyes to me. "How are you doing, my son?"

"Shut up," I snapped at him. "We are not starting that!"

"Oh, I assure you that we are, my son~"

"The hell we are!" I hissed out.

I had underestimated the chatroom. I just thought that the system would do Greek Gods since that was the main 'theme' of the world, I hadn't anticipated it would branch out into Gods from other Pantheons… It made me wonder how the gods would react to me, who was from a pantheon that was worshipped long before the Greeks were.

"As much as I'd love to watch this father-son squabble," Pandora cut in. "You should focus on the screen, Master."

I blinked and turned my gaze back to the screen, before I saw that it had just given me my permanent skill for the mission.

"Oh…"

My eyes widened before my lips slowly curled into a wicked, evil smile. "Ohh, ho, ho, ho!" I threw my head back and began to laugh.

One by one, the others read the skill… And then they too began to let out wicked, evil laughter. Even Maelstrom couldn't stop himself from letting out chuckles of dark amusement.

[Are you satisfied with this skill?]

"I'm very satisfied with this skill," I told the Chatroom.

[Confirming Skill acquisition! Beginning transfer to Riordan-verse #8719…]

I continued to chuckle as the light enveloped my body and, the next thing I knew, I was standing at the bottom of a hill with a tall tree atop it.

A quick look to my left took my breath away.

Standing there was perhaps one of the most beautiful girls I'd seen in my life. Her hair was split in colour, the right side of her hair (her right) was red, while the left side was white, done up at the back in a shape reminiscent of bunny ears. Her hair flowed down over either shoulder, done up at the bottom in rings. Her eyes were an absolutely stunning shade of purple, almost like a pair of amethysts that shone in the light, with a microphone leading down to just in front of her mouth.

She wore golden headphones on either side of her head that jutted out in a cone shape, with a light blue stripe running around them in the middle. On her body was a short white dress that stopped at the top of her thighs, with a black ribboned tied over her chest and two black buttons down her stomach in the middle. On her left arm she wore a long, light blue sleeve, with a blue bead bracelet on her right wrist. Her long, lovely legs were shown off beautifully, with a pair of high heels adding a few inches to her height.

This was Uta, the adopted daughter of Red Haired Shanks, the one who ate the Song-Song Fruit in the world of One Piece… And also, the member who went by the name 'Sea Diva' in the Chatroom.

Uta's eyes turned to look at me, tilting her head. "… Yuno?" She questioned.

"Uta," I gave her a smile.

She blinked… And then she began to laugh. "What's with your hair? You trying to be a blueberry?"

My eye twitched as my smile faded. "You're not one to talk, half-and-half."

She just smirked and put a hand on her hips. "My hair looks good, and you know it."

Damn it, she had me there.

"Think we can have introductions later," she told me. "Do you know how long we were in that transfer space? How many days have passed at all?"

"Not a clue," I told her, looking up. "At least it's still light out, let's not dawdle and get to the camp quickly so we can check on Thalia."

She nodded in agreement, "You take the lead, I'm not letting you look up my skirt."

I clicked my tongue, "Drats, foiled again…"

"You thought about it?"

I just smirked and began to run up the hill. "Last one there is a rotten egg!"

Her eyes widened, her competitive nature kicking in, "Oh, no you didn't!" She exclaimed as she chased after me.

I just cackled… I felt the stress and worry draining from me as I ran up the hill with all I had… Though Uta easily managed to cross me, reaching the top before me. People in her world had naturally stronger bodies, after all.

"Ha, I win!" She grinned as she turned to me, lifting her hands up in a claw-like manger and wiggling her fingers; a habit from every time she had defeated Luffy in competitions in the past.

"Yeah, you did," I agreed without a fuss, chuckling softly as the two of us looked down over Camp Half-Blood.

It wasn't anything magnificent… But for Demigods, it was probably a wonderful sight- a place where they could finally have a home that was safe from monsters.

"Wow…" Uta whispered as she stared out over the camp with awe in her eyes.

… Right, it was probably something special for Uta too. Besides the old man who took care of her and the occasional videos and livestreams in the chat, this was the first settlement that she'd actually seen since she was a little girl.

"Well then, let's get going," I told her, starting to make my way down the hill.

She quickly snapped out of her stupor and followed me, not wanting to be left behind.

As we walked past people, they gave the both of us very odd looks… It wasn't surprising, Uta had a very unique hair coloration, while my own hair looked like it was straight out of an anime thanks to carrying the fabled 'Yu' in my name.

… Did some of these kids even know about anime? It would be a damned tragedy if they didn't… Maybe I could set up a side-hustle of selling manga for drachma while I was here?

Nah, it likely wouldn't catch on given that everyone had Dyslexia.

The two of us made our way to the Big House, where Chiron was sitting by the porch reading a book. Uta looked at him with sparkles in her eyes at the fact his lower body was a horse. She seemed fascinated by it, which I did find a bit odd given these things weren't weird in the One Piece world.

Then again, no other people besides one person for several years, I'd need to stop paying attention to Uta reacting to every little thing; it was all going to be new for her.

Chiron looked up from his book, momentary surprise flickering in his eyes before he gave a polite smile as he slowly stood up. "Hello," he said in a gentle voice. "Welcome to Camp Half-Blood, I'm pleased to see the both of you made it safely. Where is your guide?"

"We came here alone," I told Chiron. "Together, no guide. We heard about this place and made it here together."

He hummed and gave a nod. "Then I'm glad you both made it safely…" He eyed us both up and down. Likely noting how clean our clothes were, and assuming that we must not be very strong demigods and monsters must not have attacked us much due to our scent not being as strong.

"I think the Orientation film will serve you both well," he nodded. "It's to help you adapt to your new… Situation."

"That sounds fun!" Uta's eyes lit up.

With the decision made, the both of us followed Chiron into a room where he set up an old film projector and slipped in a reel of film.

"Retro," I told him.

He just smiled patiently- no doubt he'd dealt with countless people making comments like that- and started to play the film, slipping out of the room.

Our attention turned to the film and… It was pretty normal, featuring a Chiron explaining things in a very calm but elaborate manner… As we watched, I felt myself starting to turn light-headed…

'Enough.'

My mind suddenly re-focused, and I learned away from the film, a bit leery of it now. I glanced at Tez and Pandora for an explanation.

"It's Magic, Master," Pandora explained. "They seem to have some sort of enchantment on the film. Nothing harmful, all it does is relax your mind and give you the basic information on the Greek Gods and key figures like Chiron… But such a thing is worthless for you, who knows this world better than some of its residents."

'Thank you, Pandora…' I didn't want anyone in my head besides my spirits, let along magic touched by Gods who may or may not have my best intentions at heart.

Shit, was I going to have to spend some points in order to prevent Gods from getting into my head?

"It's unlikely you'll need it, at least for now," Tez told me. "I have the authority to 'claim' you in this world, but I don't plan to do so; lest you attract the attention of the Gods for your foreign nature. To them, you're just going to be a normal demigod with strengths in some respects and weaknesses in others."

'Alright, fair enough…' I leaned back in my chair. 'I do have several months before I have to worry about things too much, after all… Fuck me, the Hermes Cabin is gonna be cramped as Shit, good thing I have an inventory, or those fuckers would steal all my crap…'

Finally, the video came to an end and the two of us stepped out of the room and then the big house itself, meeting Chiron on the deck. Mr D- Dionysus- was nowhere to be seen, he was probably in his room and not wanting to be around any 'brats' at the moment.

Chiron smiled at the both of us kindly. "I trust you understand things better now?"

"Yes, much better," Uta nodded happily at his words, the magic of the video having worked to help give her a better understanding of the world. She would be just fine.

At the next moment, a golden sun appeared above Uta's head, shining brilliantly. I immediately recognised it for what it was- a divine symbol of Apollo, claiming Uta as his daughter now that she was at Camp and understood everything.

Chiron's eyes lit up and he pat her shoulder. "Well, it seems your father has chosen to claim you very quickly," he sounded delighted. "Very good, Cabin Seven for you…"

"Chiron," a voice spoke up, interrupting his words and causing all three of us to look over, showing a blonde girl with princess curls and stormy grey eyes walking over. Following behind her was a girl with long black hair and sea green eyes… And another girl with short spiky hair, and eyes of electric blue. "Thalia is awake."

Chiron smiled in relief. "Ah, Miss Thalia, I'm glad to see you are-!"

"Thalia!" Uta squealed out as she ran over and hugged her happily, much to the surprise of the others. "Oh, I'm so glad you're okay! It's me, Uta!"

Thalia, caught off guard by the hug, suddenly widened her eyes as she stared at her. "Uta!?" She exclaimed in shock, showing she had not read the chat yet after finally waking up. She turned her gaze to me. "Then… You're…?"

I just sighed… Way to make things complicated for us, Uta. Still, I gave her a smile. "Hey there, Miss Goth Thunder."

The black haired girl looked quite confused as she looked from Thalia, to Uta, to me, and then to the blonde girl with a totally befuddled look.

The blonde girl wasn't any better, looking at Thalia with a bit of shock and even a little hurt in her eyes as she saw how close Uta was to her. "You… Know these two, Thalia?"

Thalia looked at Uta, then at me, and then she sighed as she gave in and hugged Uta back, patting her back. "It's a long story."
