Chapter 79 - dataDyne Rescue

Mat moaned, biting his lower lip as his senses came back to him. One that never seemed to leave was that of pleasure, it followed him even into the black of death, what he had begun to refer to as the 'Stream' since he heard the voices refer to it in that manner before. They were fairly silent now though, he wasn't sure if they were just figments of his imagination that were created to give him company during his solitude or something more...

Either way, he was in a familiar place. He was face down this time though, his nose buried deep in the fabric of the owner's insole. He could smell it - years of sweat accumulated in a single piece of fabric. Even if he could move, the smell was so intoxicating he didn't know if he wanted to. His little [REDACTED] pulsed with life against the fabric as well. If those voices really were something more - he had so many questions. The biggest one being very simple: Why?

He could hear someone moving around outside of where he was. It sounded like they were getting dressed... His energy slowly came back to him enough that he could drag himself somewhere, so that's exactly what he did. He pulled himself toward the heel section of the shoe, feeling the fabric slide down his front the whole way. Every move was a burst of crippling pleasure... He crawled up to a pattern stamped into the insole of the shoe... "C.I."

After he read it, he forced himself to roll over so that he could look up and out at whatever was around.

The opening was bright, but he could see her moving slightly. She was sitting next to where he was in a chair fiddling with what looked like armor on her wrists. He had assumed she was alone since she didn't speak with anyone and it was just a matter of time before she would put her shoes on. He watched her move high above, taking note of everything he could see before she glanced down to him. Her blue eyes locked onto his it seemed as she reached for her shoes, and with a sharp jolt - he was sent sliding all the way back to the toe section. His little heart pounded as he looked down his own body to the light as the chamber shook.

The light dimmed quickly, replaced by the woman's toes as she slid her foot into her boot. He was tiny enough not to be immediately felt as her toes crept over his legs, forcing his [REDACTED] up into his stomach as he moaned out a pleasureful moan.

"Alright Jo, Time to test the audio feed. Are you getting this clear?" Daniel Carrington said over the communication's device in Jo's ear. Joanna strapped her shoe on tight, feeling a little pebble or something between her big toe and first but it wasn't anything she was willing to bother with now. It was too small to deal with anyway. She stood, stretching and flexing her toes inside of her shoes just before buttoning the last button on her field uniform.

"Loud and clear. Is my taxi waiting for me?" Jo asked jokingly as she began to walk toward her desk. There wasn't much on it, just a glass desk with a single computer... Not like she actually spent time there or anything. She gripped the handle of her Falcon II pistol, racking back the slide just enough to see that there was indeed a .45 caliber bullet in the chamber, before she began to walk toward the door leading out of her room to the elevator.

"We have the Jumpship prepped and ready for you. We'll be remote controlling it from the institute to minimize personnel in the field."

"So my life's in Stan's hands, hmm?"

"I can hear you." Stanly's nasally voice came over the communications device as Joanna entered the elevator. She casually gripped her toes over the little pebble in her shoe, finding it to be a fairly good way to get out her 'Pre-Combat Jitters'.

"Don't be so sensitive, Grimshaw." Jo casually replied as the elevator doors opened on the lower level. She made her way to the left, past the large Carrington Institute statue in the main room and toward the hangar. "Get me there safely and maybe i'll save your life someday."

"We'll see about that." Grimshaw replied, "You'll find some ECM Mines, as well as a Data Uplink in the Jumpship already. You'll need them, so don't go throwing them anywhere they don't belong. They're exceedingly hard to remove once they're planted... For your sake."

"I'll try not to stick them on anyone's forehead." Jo jested as she made her way down the ramp. The doors hissed as they parted, revealing the rather large hangar bay filled with two vehicles and many large silver crates. She was on a second floor catwalk overlooking the Dropship - a larger troop transport ship than what she would be taking. It dwarfed the little unarmed Jumpship that occupied a space normally filled by an inventory-gathering computer and hover equipment to move the crates.

"Time to be serious, Jo." Daniel interjected as she approached the Jumpship. "The target's name is Dr. Caroll, he's a Scientist in the lower levels of dataDyne's Lucerne Tower. You're point of egress will be the helipad on the top though. There are 14 official floors but you should be able to bypass most of them using the elevator system. Cassandra has the keycard that will unlock the door on the ground floor to the underground labs. We'll brief you more on the objective when you enter the Chicago area. Good luck, Jo."

With that, the communications went silent. The engine of the Jumpship began to whirl up as the door slid open automatically. Joanna casually stepped up into the aircraft, pressing a button on the wall when she was inside to shut the door behind her. As she sat down, the Jumpship lifted from the ground with barely enough time for her to get into her seat. She wasn't the only one in this bird though - she had no idea about her little passenger beneath her toes.

Mat whimpered. She had obviously just finished some training before this mission. The sock was soaked with sweat... It made the air humid as all heck, that and her constant fidgeting had already twisted his arms into uncomfortable positions. His [REDACTED] against the sweat-soaked fabric as Joanna casually tapped her foot on the floor, watching the computer terminal view of what Grimshaw was seeing back at the Institute. It wasn't a great in-flight movie, but it'd do...

*** 4 Hours Later ***

Everything was going as planned. Joanna jogged down the hallway, hopping over the dead body of a dataDyne soldier with her newfound experimental rifle in hand. It was labeled the 'K7 Avenger' and had a little screen on the back that could sense threats such as bombs or automated turrets through walls. The pebble was still there, but with the adrenaline of the mission coursing through her veins she didn't quite care. She had just left the last lab room and forced the scientists to shut down their experiments - now it was time to see if she could find the good Doctor as well as one more experimental device.

Mat was dying... Or so he felt anyway. The sweat had gotten so much worse as Joanna ran through the halls of the Lucerne Tower. It took everything he had not to slide beneath her footfalls but he was growing weak. It didn't help that with every step she took he was crippled with another blast of pleasure. It was absolutely maddening. Joanna approached a large sliding door with her rifle drawn, tapping the button in the middle. With a hiss it opened, revealing two more guards around a corner as well as a large dataDyne statue on the wall.

She was quicker on the draw, crouching to minimize the enemy's target zone. Three shots for each - two to the chest and one to the head as they fell. It was the last for that magazine so she hit the release and let the mag fall to the floor. She quickly stood up and ran forward... That was his end.

Mat's grip slipped as she ran, his body slid beneath the ball of her foot as it slammed down on the ground. In an instant he was flattened deep into the fabric of Joanna's sock. She didn't notice a thing as she neared the next door. She stopped, crouching calmly as she slipped a spare magazine into the back of the bull-pup style experimental rifle she had in her hands. It slid into place with a click and with her left hand she charged the next round into the chamber. Ready to rock...

The door opened to reveal a long corridor filled with red fence-like lasers - but they weren't going to be a big obstacle... Grimshaw had helped her to reprogram a cleaning bot to give her access to the lower levels of the building...

She jogged alongside the little bot, unaware of Mat's carcass being smashed into the fabric of her sock more and more with each step...
