Van Thomas' Introductory Note
Before our little bundle of joy was born, while Daji was still pregnant, I decided to update our family tree and history.
The Thomases are a bunch of loose cannons and restless warriors and dreamers, from our history. We have at least one romantic doomed liaison, rebels in almost every generation, and a group of people who answer to no authority except each other. My entrepreneurial spirit and tendency to push the boundaries are traits I come by honestly.

Now, the Thomases in America go back to at least the early 19th century, when an Englishman in Boston on business named Oswald Thomas met an American girl, Jacqueline Barrer, a talented seamstress and quilter, as well as an intellectual. He courted her and married her.
