I sit up, and Daji is already awake, cradling the baby to her breast while our little girl suckles greedily. Blasé about the doctor's presence, Daji breastfeeds our little bundle of joy as if she's been doing it for thousands of years.
Wait ... our little godling can actually live that long. And I'm close to immortal, or at least have an extended lifespan, thanks to Gram's Amrita and bonding with Daji. I could be around five hundred years from now, watching my descendants run the inn.
Dr. Bian Que gives me a benevolent look, his scholarly face serious. "Ah, you've decided to rejoin us."
