Chapter 355 - Chapter 178 The Allure of Delicious Food (Part 1)

Upon hearing Vados's invitation, Talot and Whis didn't stand on ceremony.

Although Champa's sullen expression was full of hostility, Talot still sat calmly down beside Whis at the dining table.

The light of the galaxies shimmered as a backdrop, with sun, moon, and stars orbiting on the side. What a breathtaking and incredible sight this was.

Yet, such a thing was actually happening, and to the Angels, it seemed like nothing out of the ordinary.

Champa, glanced sidelong at Talot. Though he was displeased to have this guy sitting at the same table as him, Vados had extended the invitation herself. If he opposed it now, it would only make him, a God of Destruction, seem petty and narrow-minded.

So he simply turned a blind eye to it.

As Vados used her special abilities, steaming dishes of food began appearing on the table one after another.

Logically speaking, this was outer space — a place where such calm shouldn't exist — yet everything felt perfectly natural, as if it was meant to be that way.

The foods varied greatly in form, and while they seemed quite tempting to Champa, Talot found them rather strange. To him, they didn't look appetizing at all.

However, having endured hardship before, and being Saiyan, born with huge appetites, appearance and taste of food had never been of much importance to him at first.

As long as it filled the stomach, that was enough.

But after coming to Earth, everything began to change.

Simply put, it's easy to go from frugality to extravagance, but hard to go from extravagance to frugality.

"Please, help yourselves, both of you. These are some of Universe 6's rare delicacies," Vados said politely.

Hearing this, Talot and Whis exchanged a glance, then picked up the knives and forks on the table in unison, beginning to taste the foods of Universe 6.

Whis's expression remained completely calm. To him, these dishes were quite ordinary, nothing particularly special.

And indeed, as the original work had shown, before they went to Earth, his and Beerus' food on the God of Destruction's Planet wasn't much different from this.

To Whis, the food wasn't good, but it wasn't exactly bad either.

Talot took a few bites. Despite being mentally prepared, he still hadn't expected Universe 6's cuisine to be so bland and flavorless.

It wasn't exactly inedible, and could barely serve to fill one's belly.

But compared with Earth's food, these dishes had no redeeming features other than perhaps decent nutrition.

"How is it? Food of the gods, it's nothing like what you mortals eat. You should feel honored," Champa said with a mocking grin, eager to hear Talot's opinion.

Though Talot had indeed defeated him, that didn't change Champa's perception of mortals.

In his view, gods were superior to mortals in every possible way, even when it came to food.

"It's true it's different from what us mortals eat," Talot replied casually, chewing slowly with clear distaste, "but where does your sense of superiority come from? This food's only good enough to keep one from starving, it's nowhere near Earth's delicacies."

"What did you say?!" Champa roared, veins bulging on his forehead.

Damn it! He'd already been holding back the bellyful of anger, and now this mortal dared mock him after he'd kindly shared his food?

For Champa, losing to Talot was tolerable. But saying Universe 6's food was only fit to stave off hunger. That was intolerable.

Wasn't that just indirectly mocking him, implying that he, the God of Destruction, had no taste at all? That his universe is completely inferior to Universe 7???

Seeing Champa about to explode, Talot decided not to push it further. After all, this fat cat was moody and unreasonable; he couldn't take criticism. Telling him the truth would only bring trouble. Better to keep silent.

"Hm?" Vados narrowed her eyes slightly, her gaze making Champa's heart tremble. His anger dissipated instantly.

At this rate, anyone who didn't know better would think that Vados was the God of Destruction, and Champa her attendant.

"It seems the food on Earth is quite special. Even what we often eat can't compare to it. I wonder, Talot, could you take us to Earth to have a taste?" Vados asked with a faint smile.

"That's fine by me, but you'll have to promise not to cause any trouble on Earth," Talot replied.

Since Vados had taken the initiative to ask, he naturally didn't mind taking them to Earth to try its delicacies.

The only thing that needed to be guaranteed was Champa, the unstable factor.

"Don't worry, Lord Champa won't cause any trouble. Isn't that right, Lord Champa…?" Talot finally got a sense of just how intimidating Vados could be.

Just one look from her made Champa break out in a cold sweat and nod repeatedly.

As expected, Champa was nothing more than a kitten raised by Vados.

Beerus was the same; though he's tsundere, he still knows his limits, so Whis doesn't need to restrain him as much.

"In that case, I'll come along as well. Hohohoho~~!" Whis chimed in cheerfully, his curiosity about Earth's delicacies now fully piqued.

For old monsters like them, who had lived for countless eons, savoring fine cuisine was one of the greatest pleasures. If Earth's delicacies could truly impress them this time…

Then this trip to Earth would be well worth it.

...

Soon enough, under Talot's arrangement, Whis, Vados, and Champa all arrived at the manor in West City.

Talot first gave instructions to the kitchen staff, telling them to speed up and prepare some dishes for the guests, then went to bring back his family from North Kai's place.

This group also included North Kai, Bubbles, and Gregory.

It was a rare occasion for them to leave the Other World and Kai's Planet. They might as well treat it as a visit to Earth.

The others from the battlefield naturally came back as well.

After all, the situation had been resolved, and the initial crisis was gone.

Still, everyone's fear of the God of Destruction and Angels couldn't be easily dispelled.

As for Vegeta, it was as if he had vanished completely.

What was certain, however, was that he was still on Earth and hadn't left.

His spaceship had been destroyed in the battle, and since he hadn't mastered Instant Transmission, it was obviously impossible for him to leave Earth.

To make the gathering more presentable, Bulma took the initiative and started making elaborate arrangements.

She had already planned to celebrate after Frieza's defeat. Now, with several divine beings visiting Earth, it was the perfect chance to build strong connections.

This clearly showed how shrewd Bulma was: she instantly recognized that befriending the God of Destruction and Angels was a highly profitable move, far wiser than offending them.

During the preparations, unexpectedly, the Old Supreme Kai and the East Supreme Kai showed up uninvited, representing the gods of Universe 7.

However, they had clearly overestimated themselves. Though, in theory, the Supreme Kai and God of Destruction held equal status, the reality of this world followed the law of the jungle. The strong always had the greater voice.

While their ranks might appear equal, in both Universe 7 and Universe 6, the Supreme Kai was far beneath the God of Destruction, who always stood a level higher.

Still, Champa was rather pleased by the goodwill the two Supreme Kais had shown.

After that, everyone's attention turned entirely toward the food.
