Wei Xin's POV
I look at the birds that fly on the branches of the tree in front of our manor. "My lady, we received a letter from the imperial palace," my servant stated.
I raise my hand, and she places the letter in my palm. I knew this would happen sooner or later.
The moment that my cousin, one of the imperial soldiers, sent me a letter about the changes that suddenly happened in the court, I knew one of them would reach out to me.
My family died five years ago. They died from defending the north border. I was still mad and held grudges against the imperial family because of the negligence that our troops received that time.
If the late emperor listens to my father and grandfather, they won't die from an ambush. The court betrayed us.
That's the reason why I withdrew our troops, and the Song family, who was guarding the South border, was transferred to that place after what I did.
