Chapter 165 - 164: Let's Set An Example

Lyon shrugged. "Tony, just wait here for now. Don't wander off. Once this is settled, I'll come back and fill you in."

With that, the two of them walked out of the inner hall together.

Mordo followed behind them.

Tony's projection was left behind, shouting frantically to wait, but the three departing figures showed no mercy.

"Tony, it's okay. I'll bring you along."

In the end, it was the ever-gentle Dr. Banner who picked up the communicator and followed along, bringing Tony's projection with him.

Wong led Lyon all the way into the library.

The first thing that greeted them was a familiar scene—rows of timeworn bookshelves neatly arranged throughout the room.

Passing through the outer shelves, a figure suspended upside down in midair came into view.

The man was dressed in a dusty yellow robe, dreadlocks hanging down from the back of his head.

The veins on his forehead bulged, his eyes were tightly shut, and the skin around his eye sockets was mottled with black, decayed flesh, making it look as though he were wearing heavy smoky makeup.

But Lyon could tell that this was the result of corruption from the energy of the Dark Dimension.

He more or less already had a guess as to who this person was.

"He is Kaecilius," Wong explained the next second.

"Not long ago, he was the one who strung up the previous librarian and cut off his head."

"Then he led a faction of sorcerers to rebel against Kamar-Taj."

"He is extremely dangerous."

Tony's projection sized him up.

Even with his eyes tightly shut and unconscious, Kaecilius's face still carried an invisible coldness and shadow, like a venomous snake lying dormant through the winter.

"I can tell this guy isn't a good person. But you say he's dangerous, yet you've captured him. Are you just bragging?" Tony asked.

Wong shook his head grimly. "He underestimated us."

"A few hours ago, Kaecilius led his followers to attack the London Sanctum."

"He must have learned about the death—So once he had made his preparations, he came straight for us."

"His goal was to destroy the defensive sanctum!"

Wong's expression darkened, trying to convey just how dire the situation had been.

"Thankfully, Tony had helped us improve our communication and alarm systems beforehand."

He paused for a moment and glanced at Tony.

"The moment our Sanctum came under attack, Mordo and I received the alarm and rushed over immediately."

"Kaecilius didn't take me seriously since I was an unfamiliar face to him."

"So, while he was fighting with Mordo, I used the Stupefy spell to knock him out."

"Honestly, I didn't expect that move to work."

"After that, we drove away the sorcerers who had followed him."

"Then we brought him here to the library."

"And we've kept him under control using the Inverted Restraining Spell and the Stunning Spell ever since."

Lyon nodded. This time, Our grumpy Wong had indeed made a great contribution.

Of course, Tony's upgraded alarm system had also been crucial.

That was something they had set up two weeks ago when Wong and Mordo were drafting the Kamar-Taj New Wizardry and Magic System Educational Plan.

Lyon had specially asked Tony to help with a complete modernization overhaul.

Now, throughout Kamar-Taj, advanced projection devices filled the place with a distinctly technological atmosphere.

The sorcerers only needed to move their wrists slightly to project the holographic instructional videos recorded by Wong and Mordo, allowing them to study new spells at any time.

They had even set up a comprehensive data-driven training system in the practice yard.

This system analyzed the data to determine the casting style best suited to each individual sorcerer, ensuring that everyone could steadily progress in their magical studies.

As for the bloodline potions needed to learn new spells, after several days of discussions, Mordo and Banner had reached a long-term agreement on the breeding and supply of magical creatures.

They were also preparing to establish a magical creature breeding base right inside Kamar-Taj, to ensure the long-term development of their wizarding system.

It could be said that the new magic teaching model at Kamar-Taj was developing steadily and promisingly.

"Well done, Wong."

Lyon patted Wong on the back in praise. "But didn't you already handle all this? Is there still some other danger?"

"Not really," Wong replied, clearly pleased by the compliment. "It's just that with you away from the Sanctum, both Mordo and I felt a bit uneasy."

Mordo added, "The followers of Kaecilius who escaped will definitely come back, trying to rescue him."

There was a trace of bitterness in his expression. After all, Kaecilius had been his senior brother.

"Our best option is to execute this traitor Kaecilius first, but this decision rests with you, Lyon."

"Execute him... no. I actually have a better idea."

Lyon looked at the two of them. "After the Ancient One's death, the dimensional creatures sneaking in every day and trying to attack the sanctums have been increasing, haven't they?"

"That's right. The dimensional demon gods and hell lords have all been using these creatures to test our current strength," Mordo nodded.

Lyon crossed his arms. "With the Ancient One gone, Kamar-Taj has lost its greatest power. What they're doing now is probing, but soon it'll become a full-scale assault."

"So we can't just sit back and defend."

"Instead of passively defending and gradually wearing down our strength, it's better to go on the offensive."

"Defense has never been my style."

"Set an example. Show the enemy a power so overwhelming that they retreat in fear. That's more like my way."

"This attack by Kaecilius is the perfect opportunity!"

Though Lyon was cautious most of the time, when it came time to act, he never hesitated.

Previously, the Ancient One had said that the Marvel Cinematic Universe had already entered the stage of multiversal war.

Over in the movie universe, the superheroes had probably already started making initial contact with the various variants of Kang.

At this point in time, beings like Mephisto from Ghost Rider or other hell lords were just as likely to cast their greedy eyes toward Earth.

For Lyon to become the Sorcerer Supreme at such a time meant he wouldn't just be facing an enemy like Dormammu alone, as Strange had in the movie universe.

A proper display of strength was absolutely necessary.

At the very least, it would make those demon gods reconsider and shift their focus toward other universes instead.

As the saying goes, if the bandits come for me, I can go for them too.

All he needed was to become a bit stronger, to step into the Immortal level or even to reach the rank of Law Master.

Then one day, he would turn the tables and invade those demon gods' dimensions himself!

"Counterattack? But… who exactly are we counterattacking?" Mordo's face was full of shock and confusion.

"Are you saying we should go to the Dark Dimension and look for Dormammu?"

"But in their own dimensions, no one can defeat the demon gods, can they?"

Mordo knew Lyon was like Superman from the comics, absurdly powerful, but even so, he didn't think Lyon could defeat Dormammu inside the Dark Dimension.

There was a reason why they were called dimensional demon gods.

All of their power came from their dimensional worlds.

Outside of their dimensions, their actual strength would drop significantly.

But within their own dimensions, they practically were the world itself.

Of course, Lyon understood this as well.

It was just like when he was in the Resident Evil world—his strength had multiplied several times over thanks to holding the authority of that world.

If you went by the settings of the comic universe, Dormammu's actual strength was roughly on par with Odin.

But inside the Dark Dimension, Dormammu's power would become unimaginable, enough to defeat even an avatar of the abstract entity Eternity.

That was strength surpassing the ordinary single-universe level, capable of destroying an entire galaxy with a mere flick of the wrist.

Although in the film universe everyone's power level had been somewhat nerfed, as long as Dormammu remained in the Dark Dimension, he would still have at least low single-universe level power.

Which was why Lyon planned to place the battlefield in the real world.

"Heh heh~ Of course we're not going to the Dark Dimension. We're going to lure him out, shut the door, and then beat him down while he's stranded!"

"How do we lure him out?" Mordo's eyes widened.

Lyon pulled out a World Ring and looked at Kaecilius. "I've got the sacrifice, and we've got the priest. Summoning an evil god couldn't be easier."
