Chapter 99 The Battle in the Altar Room
The dark, quiet corridor of the underground dungeon suddenly erupted with a sharp, alarming sound.
As Karn's team marched closer to the end of the path, a dark-robed sentry standing near the entrance of the main chamber spotted the glowing aura torches of the imperial soldiers. The sentry's eyes went wide behind his red mask, and he let out a loud, panicked scream.
"Intruders! The imperial soldiers are here!"
Without wasting a single second, the sentry lunged toward a giant, rusty bronze bell that hung from the stone ceiling. He grabbed a heavy wooden mallet and struck the metal with all his might.
"GONG! GONG! GONG!"
The deep, heavy sound of the bell vibrated violently through the narrow stone corridors, shaking loose dust from the ceiling. Instantly, the peaceful silence of the dungeon was completely shattered.
