Chapter 8 - The Dragon Cave

Manolo enters his doorway and is transported to his living room. Yuleika is cooking, as it is morning. He appears in the living room, and she comes out of the kitchen to see Manolo standing there.

—Oh, honey, your home. — said Yuleika.

—Yes, I'm done with work. — replied to Manolo, who sits down in the living room to watch television.

—That's good. How did it go? — Yuleika asks.

—It went well. I'm fighting to survive in that crappy world. — Manolo replies.

—Don't let that world and the people who live there intimidate you. — Yuleika responds as she massages his shoulders.

—I try not to, but in that world, things aren't easy. I must survive like a warrior. This is a thousand times worse than the job I had before. — Manolo replies.

—Well, that's what you chose. I hope it doesn't backfire on you. — replied Yuleika.

—Are you comforting me or not? — replied to Manolo, a little angry, as he removed Yuleika's hands from him.

—Don't be like that, honey. — replied Yuleika.

—I'm going out to get some fresh air. — Manolo replied, going to his room, changing into more comfortable clothes, and taking some money with him.

—Don't buy empanadas. — Yuleika replied.

—Yes, whatever you want. — Manolo replied, leaving the house.

Manolo walks over to D'Wilkins' empanada stand, empanatonga ontol.

—Oh, look who we have here, Manolo, it's been a long time since you've been here. — said Wilkins, the owner of the business.

—I know, my wife has been nagging me, but don't worry, I'm back. I want a complete empanada with two crusts. — Manolo replied.

—I have a lot of people, but since you're my favorite customer, I'll make it for you right now. — Wilkins replied.

Wilkins begins to make the empanada, taking a piece of dough and placing it on the table. He takes ingredients from each container (ham and cheese, egg, four cheeses, pepperoni, vegetables, etc.) and spreads the second piece of dough over the mountain of ingredients to cover it. He presses down on the outside of the dough with a fork so that it doesn't separate when he throws it into the hot oil. Once finished, he places it in the hot oil. After a few minutes, the empanada is ready, and he leaves it for a few seconds to drain the oil in the colander. He puts it in a paper bag, adds ketchup, mayonnaise, garlic sauce, and BBQ sauce.

—Here you go, sir, all yours. — said Wilkins.

—Thank you, sir. — replied to Manolo, who paid him two hundred pesos for the empanada. He went and bought a soda at the grocery store and sat on a stone bench while he ate his empanada and drank his soda.

—Well, well, well, look who we have here, it's Manolo Restituyo tucking into his empanada. — said a voice next to him.

—Miguel, my brother, how are you? — replied to Manolo, who recognized a neighbor from his neighborhood.

—Good, brother. How's the family, Manolo? — Miguel replied, sitting down next to him.

—Everything's fine. — Manolo replied as he took a bite of his empanada.

—I heard you got a new job. — Miguel replied.

—How did you find out, Miguel? — Manolo replied, taking another bite and drinking some soda.

—Don't you know you're famous? Haven't they told you? — Miguel replied.

—Well, since I've been in this job, people treat me with a certain amount of fear and even respect. — Manolo replied as he took another bite and drank another sip of soda.

Miguel took out his cell phone, showed him a streaming channel from the Rare company, and showed him a program called Crashes of Yesterday and Today. — where he showed him his adventures as a Rare technician.

—What the hell, don't tell me everyone here watches that program. — Manolo replied, eating the rest of his empanada and finishing his soda.

—It's the second most-watched program on Rare TV, after Rotten Metal. — Miguel replied.

—Shit, no wonder people look at me funny. What a bummer. Now how can I walk down the street? — Manolo replied.

—I don't know, but you're famous. It's just that the operating system here is outdated, but they'll tell you sooner or later. — Miguel replied.

—Thanks for telling me, neighbor. — Manolo replied.

—You're welcome and give me an autograph for my son. He's your number one fan. — Miguel replied, handing him a sheet of paper with the program cover and a pen.

—Okay, I feel like a superstar. — Manolo replied, until several neighbors came over to greet him and tell him he was famous. A crowd gathered to see him, and they also wanted an autograph.

While Manolo is approached by many people, we focus on Isidro, who is in his apartment and gets up at ten in the morning.

—Damn, it's ten in the morning and I'm starving. I'd better buy an empanada and walk it off. — Isidro says to himself as he looks at the clock on his cell phone.

Isidro makes his bed, takes some money, and goes to eat a well-filled empanada at the empanada stand near his home.

—Hey, I haven't seen you around here before. — said the empanada man.

—No, since I don't know you, give me a well-filled empanada with pizza sauce, cheese, corn, and pepperoni. I'm hungry. — Isidro replied rudely because he was hungry.

—Don't be like that. You woke up hungry. — replied to the empanada man as he made the empanada.

—Yes, sorry, I'm very hungry. It's been a long time since I've been here. — replied to Isidro, very embarrassed.

At that moment, Isidro noticed a child watching a program called Crashes of Yesterday and Today where the presenter is a living skeleton dressed in formal attire named Ains Mongol.

>>Welcome to Clashes of Yesterday and Today. I am your host, Ains Mongol, and I am here to present today's vehicle battles. Today's condemned are the famous technicians who are trending, Manolo Restituyo and Isidro Montero, who are facing off against the violentors, the demolishers.

At that moment, he presented the entire battle.

>>But that's not all, we have another match featuring these gentlemen. It's the match they had against Mark Speedracer, driver for Rotten Metal, as well as the Swat Tigers, the Revenger brothers Duncan and Curtis Revenger, both promoted by Magical Communications Inc.

At that moment, he presents the entire match.

—Those bastards are making money off us. — said Isidro.

—Hey, but you're the one on the show. — replied to the boy, causing an uproar.

—Here's your empanada, give me your autograph. — replied to the empanada man.

Isidro signs everything he wants and returns to the apartment. He goes to buy juice at the grocery store, but they still won't leave him alone, so he uses magic and teleports home. He sits in a chair in the dining room, eats his empanada, and drinks his juice. He takes the opportunity to call Manolo, but he doesn't answer the phone.

—There are so many people who love me, I'm going to have to wear a mask and sunglasses to go to the gym. — Isidro said to himself, but then he had a brainwave and added. —But I have magic, I'm going to cast a spell so that no one will recognize me. —

That's exactly what he does. He goes to the gym, does cardio and other exercises on various machines for two hours, then goes to eat a salad at a health food restaurant. He eats the salad and a healthy drink, then goes home and plays video games until Manolo calls him and he answers the phone.

—Hey, Manolo. — Isidro said.

—With a sea of people in my house, this looks like Duarte. — Manolo replied.

—It seems we're famous, thanks to yesterday's and today's crash program. — Isidro said.

—Yes, that's true, those people are making money at our expense. — Manolo replied.

—Yeah, I'd like to sue them or something, because this isn't fair. — Isidro said.

—You can. — Manolo replied.

—Let me check with Sofia to see if it's possible. — Isidro said.

—Okay, I'll wait for your call. Bye. — Manolo replied.

—Okay, bye. — Isidro replied.

Isidro searched his backpack for a cell phone from the dark dimension to call Sonya. He imbued it with magic so he could dial Sofia's number. She was working in the warehouse, sitting at the computer, typing away until she took the call and the caller ID told her it was Isidro.

—Hi, honey, what do you want? — Sonya said.

—I want to sue yesterday's and today's crashes because they're making money at our expense. — Isidro replied.

—This world is a free world. We can record whoever we want, especially if it doesn't hurt anyone. Besides, you are not citizens of this world, so you can't sue him. You'll have to resign yourselves to being recorded, unless you upload it to Scream Tube first, but then the profits won't go to you, but to the channel owner. — Sonya replied.

—A Scream Tube channel would be interesting. I'll think about it. Thanks for helping me, honey. — Isidro replied, blowing her a kiss over the line.

—Ask your supervisor before you do it. I'd be happy to help you. One question and you've already been paid. — Sonya replied.

—Let me check my bank app. — replied to Isidro, who sees the money he earned.

—Oh, yes, I did earn it. I'll take you to an Eastern country when you're free. — replied to Isidro.

—Okay, kisses (she blows him kisses over the phone). Bye. — replied to Sonya.

Isidro calls Manolo.

—What did you find out? — Manolo said.

—We can make a Scream Tube channel where we can record, use Sonya's account, and make some serious money. What do you think? — Isidro replied.

—Hey, that sounds cool, but we must ask for permission to do that. — Manolo replied.

—Yes, we must ask permission. We'll talk to Camilion. Changing the subject, they already got paid. — replied to Isidro.

—What? Let me see! — said Manolo, who looks at his account on his cell phone, faints, and has a stroke from seeing so much money.

—Honey, are you okay? But what happened...? — replied Yuleika, who looked at her cell phone and fainted.

—Manolo, Manolooo!— shouted Isidro, who took his wand and teleported himself home.

—Manolo are you with me, Manolo? — said Isidro.

—I stink in here, how can you live like this? — replied to Manolo, recovering a little.

—Ah, I could buy the Dominican Republic if I wanted to. — replied to Isidro.

—With that money, I'll make my dream come true. And how did you get here? — replied to Manolo.

—With magic. Magic works here. — replied to Isidro.

—Isidro, what are you doing here? — Yuleika replied, recovering.

—With magic. — Isidro answered.

—And magic exists. — Yuleika replied.

—Yes, magic exists. Well, yes, I recommend that you don't take out all that money at once. Do it little by little, since there is a law that prohibits the use of large amounts of money. Use credit cards, checks, or whatever, but don't use your money directly. — Isidro replied.

—With this, I can quit with peace of mind. — replied to Manolo.

—Remember that your contract establishes a specific number of orders, so you can't quit. That's how my contract works. I don't know how yours works. — replied to Isidro.

—Wait, we can't quit or ask to be fired. — replied to Manolo.

—That's right, and they can deduct money from you if you misbehave. That money has magic imbued in it, so you can lose everything. If you misbehave with the company, you can have a hard time. They can easily do without you, so I recommend that you don't do anything you might regret with that company, and even then, your soul will still be theirs until you complete what they ordered you to do in the contract. — Isidro warned.

—Okay, I'll be careful. I'll only use the money to improve my lifestyle. I'm not going to move for now, since I don't know what's so strange about that money, and I'll save a little to achieve my dream. — Manolo replied.

—Perfect. I'm leaving now. See you in a month. — Isidro replied as he teleported away.

—Same to you. — Manolo replied.

—What are we going to do with that money, honey? That money could be cursed. You heard what Isidro said. — Yuleika replied.

—We'll do what I said before, so it doesn't affect us so much. We must live on something. — Manolo replied.

—All right, if you say so. — Yuleika replied.

After a month of dealing with fame, Manolo and Isidro are ready to return to their respective jobs.

—Goodbye, honey, have a good day. — said Yuleika, then kissed him on the mouth and said goodbye.

In Isidro's case, he changes his clothes and sees the damage that the magic of the dark dimension has left him.

—Shit, if I keep this up, I'll turn into a monster. — Isidro said to himself, but he remembers what Sofia said:

—Even if you turn into a monster, I will always love you. — Sofia said, kissing him on the mouth.

Back to reality.

—At least I have people who care about me, so if I'm going to change, so be it. — Isidro said to himself. He finishes changing, gains confidence, and goes to the portal that opens in front of him. Manolo does the same.

They arrive at the branch office door.

—Well, buddy, welcome to hell. — said Isidro, greeting Manolo.

—Same here. — replied to Manolo. They enter and everyone looks at them, but Manolo and Isidro look at them as they walk.

—Let's go say hi to the bosses. — said Manolo.

—Okay. — replied to Isidro.

They went to their supervisor's office to say hello.

—Oh, guys, how was your time off? — Camilion said.

—It was good, doing things. — Isidro said.

—That's good... I'm glad you're here. I wanted to tell you something that's happening with you guys. — Camilion replied.

—Yes, we're listening. — Manolo replied.

—It's about the fame you've acquired in this world. — Camilion replied.

—We were also going to tell you that. We found out that a program on the Rare tv+ streaming channel is using our road fights to boost ratings. —

—Yes, I know, they talk about Crashes of Yesterday and Today. — Camilion replied.

—Exactly, Minister. — Manolo responded.

—We want to know if something can be done about it. — Isidro replied.

—I understand. Sofia has spoken to me about it, but... unfortunately, we can't do anything. The laws of this world protect free expression, especially since vehicle combat in this world happens all the time, whether orchestrated or street-based, so we have no control over it. — Camilion replied.

—I understand, Camilion. — Manolo replied.

—But we can't take advantage of this. I mean, try to take advantage of this... Right? — Isidro replied.

—You're talking about showing the world the vehicle combat you do. — Camilion said.

—Yes, Camilion, that way we can make a program to attract more people to request our services. — Isidro replied.

—You mean recording the vehicle battles that happen on the road. — Camilion replied.

—That would be fine, but Malcolm disagrees with that, since there may be customers who could be affected during a battle. We're walking a tightrope with this, so if something gets out of control...— Camilion replied.

—I understand. — Manolo replied.

—But that's inevitable. The crashes yesterday and today, they record us regardless. — Isidro replied.

—I know, that's why the marketing department reviews the videos, so they're not affected. — Camilion replied, letting it slip unintentionally.

—So, you're in cahoots with them. — Isidro replied indignantly.

—Ever since this vehicle combat thing started in our company. — Camilion replied.

—But what a betrayal. — Isidro replied.

—Not betrayal, business. You have to know that you are employees of this company, so don't try to take advantage of your fame for your own benefit. — Camilion replied.

—All right, Camilion, if you say so, but these vehicle battles are the work of you or external agents. — Isidro replied.

—External agents. No matter how skilled you are on the road, we wouldn't try to harm you. I also agree with Malcolm, but that's the way the entertainment world works in this world. — Camilion replied.

—I understand. Well, let's go see Malcolm. He's in the office. — Manolo replied.

—All right, you can go in, since I think he's there, I think, but don't take too long because he has work to do. — Camilion replied.

—Yes, don't worry, we know. — Isidro replied as they left his office and whispered, —Bastard. —

—Relax, Isidro, it was obvious. You know these people are crooks, but at least we tried. — Manolo replied.

—I wanted to make some easy money with our adventures, but nothing. We have to work like slaves in this crappy company. — Isidro replied.

They go to Malcolm's office, knock on the door, and he tells them to come in. They enter and sit down while he finishes his call.

—Sorry, I had an urgent call. What can I do for you, boys? — Malcolm says.

—We just came to visit you, that's all. — Manolo replies.

—Oh, how nice of you to visit me on your busy schedule. — Malcolm replied.

—Yes, really. — Isidro replied.

—One question: do you agree with us being used as a reality show for the entertainment of the masses of this world? — Manolo replied.

—Let me see, you know about yesterday's and today's crashes. I've been telling you since the terrible disaster you caused at my house, the public was ecstatic about you, and now, combined with the vehicle combat, the world is eagerly awaiting you. — Malcolm replied.

—Sorry about the house. — Manolo said, his head down.

—Don't worry, everything can be fixed with magic. — Malcolm replied.

—Yes, I know that already. — Isidro replied, laughing nervously.

—Mr. Manolo, could you leave us alone with Isidro? I need to talk to him about something. — Malcolm replied.

—All right, I'll leave you alone. I'll go visit Meredith and Ludovico. — Manolo replied, leaving the office.

Meanwhile, Malcolm and Isidro talk:

—Tell me, how's it going with Meredith's contract? — Malcolm said.

—Parts of my body have become inhuman, but I'm still conscious. — Isidro replied.

—Try to use magic as little as possible so you don't lose your humanity. — Malcolm replied.

—Right now, what does my humanity matter? I lost it a long time ago. — Isidro replied.

—Don't say that, Isidro. I know this job isn't easy, but you mustn't lose what makes you human. No matter what you say about humanity, all civilizations are the same, so go ahead, boy. — Malcolm replied.

—Thank you, Mr. Malcolm. I really appreciate the gesture. — Isidro replied.

—You're welcome, Isidro. — Malcolm replied as they shook hands.

—Well, I'm off to work. — Isidro replied.

—You know, if you ever lose your humanity, you're welcome in this world. Talk to Sofia to see if she'll let you live in this world. — Malcolm replied.

—I've already talked to her, and she said that when I lose it, I'll do the paperwork. — Isidro replied.

—That's great, Isidro. Well, off to work then. — Malcolm replied as he left the office.

A few minutes before Manolo left Malcolm's office, he went to Meredith's office to ask her a few things, but she wasn't there.

—Oh, it looks like she's not here. — said Manolo, but someone covered his eyes and added, —It must be Meredith. —

—Bing bong. You got it right. How are you, my sugar cube? — replied to Meredith.

—I'm fine. I wanted to talk to you about something. — replied to Manolo.

—I bet it's about the orders that haven't been assigned to you. — Meredith replied.

—Yes, I wanted to know how that was going. — Manolo replied.

—They're working on it, don't worry, sweetheart. You still must finish Isidro's orders before new ones can come out. — Meredith replied.

—I've already installed more than a hundred orders since I've been here, Meredith. — Manolo replied desperately.

—Don't worry, sweetheart, we're working on it. Just keep doing your job. — Meredith replied, giving him a little kiss on the mouth.

—Meredith, how dare you? I'm married. — —Manolo replied, surprised by what she did, but he noticed that she was covering her mouth.

—It felt like I kissed boiling water, I love that. — Meredith whispered, laughing devilishly, causing Manolo to panic.

—Well, I'm leaving. I'll go to Ludovico and Hope. — Manolo replied as he left the office.

—Okay, my love, I'll see you soon. — Meredith replied.

—How strange, my conscience didn't attack me when she kissed me. Maybe it's on vacation. — Manolo said to himself.

He goes to Ludovico and Hope's office, where they are working until Manolo knocks on the door.

—Come in. — Hope said.

Manolo opened the door.

—Oh, it's Manolo. — Hope said.

—Manolo, my brother, how are we doing? — Ludovico replied, shaking hands and then giving him a hug.

—How is the best worker in this company? — Manolo replied.

—Everything's fine, and it's good to see you. How was your month off? — Ludovico replied.

—It went well, very well. — Manolo answered.

—I'm going on leave in a few days. Do you need anything? — Ludovico replied.

—Yes, Ludo, it's about something important. Can we talk in private? — Manolo replied.

—Hope, do you mind if I step out for a moment? — Ludovico asked.

—Yes, you can step out for a moment. — Hope replied.

They left and walked down the hallways to the courtyard to talk.

—Okay, Manolo, what do you want? — Ludovico replied.

—I asked Meredith about the orders, and she gave me the same answer. Do you have any information about it? — Manolo replied.

—I'm on it, but the information is very well hidden. It seems like they don't want me to know something, but I'm still investigating. — Ludovico replied.

—I understand. Nothing to do but wait. — Manolo replied, but at that moment he is attacked by his conscience in the form of Yuleika, but Ludovico indirectly tells him not to.

They enter the branch again, and Manolo leaves Ludovico with Hope. Ludovico signals to Manolo's conscience to hit him hard. He twists on the floor as he is whipped by Manolo's conscience.

—Hope let's take him to Cleoferti to see what's wrong with him. — Ludovico said as Hope carried him to the infirmary.

—Oh, what's wrong with Manolo, who is writhing in pain? — Cleoferti said.

—Let's say it's a mental mechanism he has to avoid cheating on his wife. — Ludovico replied.

—And they want you to take it away. — Cleoferti replied.

—Don't do it. He needs it. Just let him rest until it goes away. — Ludovico answered.

—All right, put him on the bed. — Cleoferti said as Hope laid him down.

—Why did you let Hope carry him alone? — Cleoferti asked.

—Because she offered and she's stronger than me. Manolo weighs three hundred pounds. — Ludovico replied.

—Don't worry about me, carrying him was like lifting a piece of paper, so it's nothing for me. — Hope replied.

Isidro arrives at the infirmary.

—Manolo, where have you been? I've been looking for you. It's time to get to work. — said Isidro, and at that moment Manolo stands up as if nothing had happened.

—Let's do this. — Manolo replied, saying goodbye to those present.

—Call me if you need anything, Manolo. — Ludovico replied as Manolo gave him the OK sign with his hand.

—Let's get back to work, Ludo. — Hope said as they held hands and walked to their office.

Manolo and Isidro go to the designated parking spot for their vehicle, but it's not there. They ask one of their fellow technicians, who tells them to go to the workshop, so they head there to pick up their vehicle.

—Hello. — said Manolo.

—Oh, look who we have here, it's the dynamic duo. — replied to Darius.

—I like the reference. We came to pick up our vehicle since we didn't see it in its designated parking spot. — Manolo replied.

—Yes, I'm done with it. You can take it. — Darius replied.

—Perfect, thank you very much, Mr. Darius. — Manolo replied.

They get into the vehicle and head to the warehouse. Isidro opens the rear doors, takes a long rope hanging from a rope rack, drives a stake into the floor with the rope tied to it, and enters the vehicle's dimension to bring the farthest and closest equipment closer. Once finished, Isidro exits. Sofia emerges in her werewolf form to greet them.

—You need supplies, guys. — Sofia said.

—Yes, let me get them. — Manolo and Isidro replied as they entered the warehouse to restock and prepare to depart.

—You know, you look beautiful in any form, sweetheart. — Isidro replied, complimenting Sofia.

—Thank you, sweetheart, now go to work. — Sofia replied as they got in and set off for the street. They parked along the way to map out their route. Once they know which route to take, they set off to make the installations. First, they went to a village where they installed some satellite dishes, then they went to a city where they installed several services. Everything was going well, no chases, everything was calm until they reached their last order of the day.

—What a peaceful day, everything has gone smoothly. I hope they give me orders to get out of this now. — —Manolo said.

—Yes, such peace and quiet. Let me see what the last order is. — Manolo replied.

—Yes, to take a nap. — Isidro answered.

—Damn, that's a long way away. — Manolo replied, seeing that the last order of the day was very far away.

—Well, we must do it. We've had a lot of quiet time; a little action won't hurt anyone. — replied to Isidro.

—Yes, you're right, why not? It says here that to get to the customer we must take the train tracks, so we must transform the vehicle into a locomotive to go on the train tracks. — said Manolo.

—Well, what are we waiting for? Let's transform this vehicle into a locomotive. — replied to Isidro as Manolo placed the vehicle on the train tracks. Manolo touched the button on the touchscreen control panel to convert it into a locomotive.

Once converted into a locomotive, they set off along the train tracks.

—How fun! I'm going to blow the whistle for a moment to feel like a conductor. — said Isidro as he blew the air whistle.

—You look like a five-year-old. — replied to Manolo, but then he noticed that a train was about to enter the tracks, and they saw a flash of light.

—Hey, Isidro. — Manolo replied, trying to get him to stop blowing the whistle, but he was mesmerized by it. So, he suddenly stopped the locomotive, and the train fired a cannon shot that they dodged. Isidro came to his senses.

—What the hell. — Isidro said.

—Our day of peace is down the drain. Get ready to fight. — Manolo replied as Isidro took his place in the rear turret. The train continues to fire cannons and machine guns at their locomotive until it couples with the tracks on the side. They shoot at the cannons and turrets, trying to dodge what they can until they manage to destroy their weapons and the cars until they reach the locomotive, which connects to the track where they are to shoot at them with a minigun, but with armor-piercing bullets, they dispatch the locomotive.

—That was easy. — said Manolo, but other trains arrive, on the left and right, full of zombies.

—You and your big mouth. — replied to Isidro.

—Yes, I know, let's get those bastards! — replied to Manolo.

A zombie very similar to Ayame Yomogawa from Kōtetsujō no Kabaneri watches them fight through a pair of binoculars.

—So those are the legendary technicians who faced off against the Rotten Metal runners. It's incredible how they work. They are worthy opponents for my Mitsuri Sakamoto, the Empress of the Rails. — said Mitsuri.

—My lady, let me kill them so you don't have to lower yourself to fighting those barbarians. — replied to a zombie very similar to Mumei from Kōtetsujō no Kabaneri.

—No, Kirara, we will face them. — replied Mitsuri.

—What a waste of ammunition. — replied to a zombie very similar to Kurusu from Kōtetsujō no Kabaneri.

—Yes, perhaps it is, but defeating them will be beneficial for us, Kenzo. — replied Mitsuri.

—Destroy humans. — said a giant zombie with metal parts on its body, like Ikoma from Kōtetsujō no Kabaneri, who is with them.

—That's right, Iori. Prepare your weapons, we're going to engage them in combat. — replied Mitsuri.

After they finished defeating the two trains.

—That's it. — replied to Manolo, who was tired.

—I don't think so. — replied to Isidro as they saw an armored train armed to the teeth.

—You must be relaxing. — exclaimed Manolo.

—The final boss looks like that train. — exclaimed Isidro as the mortars fired at them.

—Well, how much ammunition do we have? — Manolo replied.

—We have enough to defeat those bastards. — Isidro answered.

—Let's go then. — Manolo replied, accelerating to get there while dodging the shells. The train coupled onto the middle track. The rear cannon fired at them while they dodged the shots by jumping from track to track. They shoot at them to disable the cannon until they succeed, but the mortars are very annoying.

A sniper aims at the vehicle's engine and fires a shot that disables the vehicle.

—The weapons aren't working. — said Isidro.

—It was that sniper, we must stop him. — replied to Manolo.

—We don't have any firearms. — Manolo replied.

—They're disabled because of the sniper. — Isidro replied.

—Well, then we must do it like the god of war, go straight to the locomotive through the cars and destroy the locomotive. — Manolo replied.

They get out of the vehicle and crash it into the cannon car, embedding it in it. Many zombies come out of the cars and rush towards them, but Manolo embeds his hands in the bellies of two zombies to pull out their small intestines with their stomachs to fight like Kratos. Isidro covers him from behind with magic.

While they take care of the zombies, one of the zombies warns Mitsuri that they are approaching a living city, and she tells them to keep going, saying that it will make things more entertaining.

They arrive at the city, which does not take kindly to the train's visit, so the tracks begin to shift, causing them to detach from the ground and the city to rise. They pass by the left hand, which turns into a monster that attacks them, but Manolo, as the god of war, attacks it constantly, and Isidro uses magic until its insides are torn apart, but it takes others from other zombies until he slams it several times against a wall until it is knocked out. The same happens with the right hand, the left and right feet, until they pass through the entire city until they reach a tunnel that leads them into the city where the internal defenses attack them, but Manolo and Isidro defend themselves until Mitsuri's minions appear to confront them.

—Well, well, well, look who we have here, it's the human technicians the media talks about. —Said Kirara.

—Who are you? — Manolo replied.

—Does it matter? — Kirara responded.

—Of course it does, if we're going to kick your asses, at least introduce yourselves, or are you like the other zombies, just more minions of the bunch? — Manolo replied, making them angry.

—My name is Kirara Ishida. — said Kirara.

—My name is Kenzo Oshima. — said Kenzo.

—My name is Iori Kanno. — said Iori.

—Perfect, now come at me all together. — Manolo replies as he grabs two zombies. They lunge at each other and engage in a brutal fight while battling the city's defenses until the city kicks them out. The city transforms into a giant as the train passes through parts of its body, and giants and enemies of the city itself appear, so they join forces to defeat the city.

The train runs over the feet, Kirara and the zombie team attack the knees to bring it to its knees, then they run over the torso, but they are caught by the left hand. However, Manolo, like the god of war, climbs up the hand and breaks the ligaments of the hand with brute force thanks to the powers of the cross being activated. The train falls, but they activate a mechanism that creates tracks out of nowhere to lead them to the head. Isidro stuns it with a light spell, and the train attacks with all its artillery without mercy. Manolo jumps from the train toward the head to knock it out with a single blow. The giant falls, and they get out of there.

—Good teamwork. — said Manolo, as they high fived the zombies there, except for the zombie team that refused.

—I remind you that we are enemies. — replied to Kirara.

—Oh yes, but we are joining forces to defeat that thing. I hope there are no customers around, because otherwise I'm going to get into trouble. — replied to Manolo.

—That's the least of your worries. Now get ready to face your destiny. — exclaimed Kirara as all the zombies got into combat position.

—If you say so, let's go! — Manolo replied as they rushed toward the zombies to attack them until, at one point in the battle, the sniper was in a perfect position to shoot. He fired, but Manolo caught the bullet in his mouth and spat it back at the sniper, knocking him out.

At one point, Manolo and Isidro can't take it anymore, but they realize that the vehicle has recovered, so they pretend to be defeated and unhook the car where the vehicle is embedded. The train shoots at them until it explodes into a thousand pieces.

—Your Majesty, we have won. — said Kirara.

—Perfect, now everyone will know about the power of the Empress of the Rails, Mitsuri Sakamoto. — replied Mitsuri, laughing diabolically.

They entered a tunnel and suddenly the lights of a vehicle appeared.

—The milkman has arrived, you bastards. — exclaimed Manolo, activating the weapons to ram the train cars until they exit the tunnel. They leave the tracks and park on a flat, solid plain, activating the vehicle to turn it into an artillery cannon to fire a nuclear projectile that completely eradicates them.

—I love the smell of destruction in the afternoon. — Manolo replied as they drove along the tracks toward their final destination.

They arrive at a cave where there are many dragons. An imposing dragon blocks their path.

—Who are you? — said the dragon.

—Good afternoon, we are the Rare technicians. We are here to install internet and telephone service for Mrs. Daga Firebreather. — replied to Manolo, sticking his head out the window.

—Oh, but you're the technicians from Rare that I saw on the Crashes of Yesterday and Today program. — replied to the dragon.

—Yes, we are...you can let us through. — replied to Manolo.

—All right, but first I need you to sign this. It's for my son. — replied to the dragon, looking for a version of his toy vehicle to have it signed.

—You have toys of us, but the bone. — they both said.

They signed it, and the dragon let them pass.

They pass by and see many dragons living in their natural habitat, the young ones playing with the toys of the combat vehicle drivers, including them.

The young ones recognize them and bring pens for them to sign autographs. They sign them and take the opportunity to ask for directions to the customer's house. They follow the directions given by the children until they reach the corresponding cave.

—Good afternoon, we are from Rare for the installation of your phone and internet. — Manolo shouts from the entrance of the cave.

—I'm coming. — said a female voice, and a dragon arrived, nursing her children. —You must be the technicians I requested. Follow me. —

—Can we drive our vehicle into your cave? — asked Isidro.

—Yes, you can. — replied Daga.

—All right, and excuse me, Mrs. Daga. — replied to Isidro as they made their way through the cave and saw a treasure chest. They were mesmerized by all the riches until Daga called them.

—Yes, ma'am, we're coming. — replied to Manolo.

—Yes, gentlemen, I would like you to set up the service in the living room and the repeaters wherever you want. — said Daga.

—Does the lady have repeaters? — whispered Manolo.

—Yes, she does. — whispered Isidro.

They go to the terminal to run a cable through the messaging pipe to the cave's living room. Then they install the modem on a small table in the cave. So, they have the task of installing ten repeaters throughout the cave. They use the ladders they take out of the vehicle, as well as suction cups to install the repeaters on the communication pipes. This takes a long time, but they manage to finish the installation, and they call the relevant department to activate the services. Mrs. Daga was amazed by the service, so she gave them both a diamond, but they refused it because it is company policy. She understood, and they cleaned up the mess they made and left the cave to stay in a hidden place in the forest with optical camouflage to sleep in the vehicle in a dimension where no one would bother them.

In a castle in the mountains, representatives of the anti-project factions of the dark dimension are gathered around a round table in person.

—Attention, gentlemen, the reason we have gathered once again is because those two bastards are still alive! — Aldrich Albain exclaimed.

—And to top it all off, they've become famous. Everyone wants them to install their services, and I'm losing a lot of money because of it. — replied Infernus Blackspawn.

—Especially when several Rotten Metal runners who work for us have been unable to deal with them. — replied Blackend Titanium.

—May the goddess Alheim save us from this cold war. — replied Ulgalion Lagoon.

—We are doing everything we can to stop them. We have arrested several of their technicians, but they come back stronger. — replied Kulbain Skeleton.

—Besides, the networks are on the side of those technicians. If we don't do something, humans will conquer us with their technology. — replied Oculan Darius.

—I'll send a deadly ray to their branch to stop them from bothering us. — replied Sargoth Atrocitus.

—That's a terrible idea because you would hurt innocent monsters, which would make you a criminal. — replied Kulbain Skeleton.

—You take all the fun out of life. — replied Sargoth.

—You guys are really useless. We must stop this advance as much as possible, so let's do whatever it takes to take out the technicians, especially Manolo and Isidro, who are the most dangerous. Do whatever it takes, no matter the risk, because my lord needs me. — Aldrich Albain replied as he teleported away from the place, and so did everyone else.

—Fortunately, we have our informant to tell us the location of the inquisitor and his companion so we can finish them off once and for all. I'll talk to him to see if he has any useful information, since it's thanks to him that we were able to detect them. — said Oculan Darius.

—Perfect, those technicians won't know who hit them. — replied Ulgalion Lagoon.
