Chapter 54 - not in control

"What loads?"

Avon asked curiously.

"It seems that our planet has some foreign elements buried deep within, we must expel those to prevent our planet's ecosystem from changing permanently."

Avon heard Laia speak from behind. She had regained all her energy and was fine now.

"Are you alright now?"

He asked out of worry,

"Yes, master healed me"

Reveria then interrupted them and spoke,

"So let's cut the chit-chat and get to work. The heretics are taken care of and now only purifying the planet is left. Come on"

Soon Reveria took them to the mountain range where they had initiatelly met.

Avon's attention went to the mountain in the center which seemed like it was cut off at the base. It was flat and anyone could tell it was unnatural.

They landed on the base and Reveria flew high in the sky leaving Avon and Laia on the ground.

She shouted from above,

"Cover yourselves in mana and watch carefully!"

Avon didn't know how to cover himself in mana! But before he could say anything Reveria shot a high energy beam right towards the centre of the base.

The beam made a huge hole right at the centre and a strong gust of cold wind along with snow blew towards Avon. He was able to withstand it ,somehow.

Beside him Laia was managing just fine. Her body was covered in a layer of mana.

The beam shot by Reveria disappeared and then the ground began rumbling. Suddenly red mist burst out from the hole and spread out everywhere.

It began entering Avon's body and he began feeling a little light headed. It was at this point that Reveria noticed that Avon hadn't covered himself in mana.

Worry took over her as she didn't know what properties the red mist had.

She didn't think of why he hadn't covered himself,

She had to get rid of it as soon as possible.

In a decisive moment she decided to first get rid of the red mist.

She quickly controlled Earth's winds.

The winds surrounded it and began compressing it. It was compressed till it was the size of a small golf ball. Reveria then used some transparent material to hold it within.

Down below Avon's mind was getting clouded and his heart rate was climbing.

He couldn't think straight and felt his body heat up.

Laia looked at Avon who was looking unwell and approached him.

When she came closer and entered his field of vision Avon's mind began going out of control.

Anger was taking over. He was struggling to maintain control over his body but he knew he shouldn't assault Laia.

All memories that he didn't like, all the times he was frustrated, all the moments when he almost died began rushing his mind.

Laia came even closer and placed a hand on his shoulder,

"Are you fine? What happend Avon?"

He quickly backed off. His heart rate shut up even more.

"Don't come near!"

He screamed.

Laia was taken aback and didn't understand what was happening to him. His skin was turning red and it was obvious he was straining himself.

Soon Reveria descended and spoke,

"Laia don't go near him!"

Laia backed off even more. Meanwhile Avon was losing his reasoning. Rage was taking over him.

Muscles strained, hot blood rushing throughout and veins visible all over...it was obvious his body was being over exerted.

The memories of all his frustrations, failures and disappointments were dominating.

From the time when someone in his group project let the group down to the times he almost died on foreign planets, everything that angered was on his mind.

The time when his parents had great expectations from him but he couldn't perform,

The time when he was not taught well but nobody believed him,

The time when he gave his all but still couldn't get a satisfactory result,

The moment when he saw his most trusted and loved ones lose their faith in his capabilities,

The time when he witnessed a death for the first time,

The time when he barely made it through impossible training Reveria made him go through,

The time when he had no idea what he actually doing half the time yet just pushing through for the medallion,

The times when he lost his life due to some simple grudges and ego issues and finally,

The time when he finally returned but still couldn't feel relieved because his master didn't spare a second verify whether he could do what she asked of him....

All his suppressed anger and rage bubbled out and he finally lost all his reason.

In his mind,

'People don't listen to me! I always act polite but people don't reciprocate! Why? I don't want to be nice anymore! Everyone only betrays!'

Lost to his anger he attacked Reveria who was near.

He aimed a punch to her face but she caught his wrist. Without delay his used his second hand to punch her face again but to no avail, she blocked again.

He tried to kick, punch, push and what not but nothing worked. Reveria just let him come at her and spend his energy.

After a while he was panting, panting like a dog.

All his energy was spent and his muscles were paining unbearably. He only attacked, even when he ran out of stamina he continued.

His muscles experienced anaerobic excercise and cramps appeared. He still didn't stop.

He had lost all his reason and only attacked.

He was frustrated even more for not being able to land even one hit, driving even more crazy.

Laia who was watching Avon attack Reveria felt something churn inside and said,

"Avon please! Stop! Don't do this, you are not like this! Can't you see it's our master you are trying to hurt!"

Avon who heard her voice stopped dead in his tracks. He then turned towards the source of the voice. His eyes red with anger.

Laia looked at him and hoped that he gained some reason.....

Avon faced her, and lunged towards her with his arm ready to punch.
