Days of waiting, and small skirmishing occurred along the battle lines. Nothing too serious, at least for the elves, the Slane Theocracy on the other hand had many casualties. Though, they were mostly untrained conscripts that had once fled their homes… This was something the Elves noticed right away, and decided to take advantage of, and use the poorly trained, as obstacles for the properly trained soldiers, basically flipping the script.
"So it really was true all along. Their only real threats are the few units who collectively act as a single hero tier person. And then the god-kin… That's the real problem. We can't act until that report comes in."
"Majesty, it should be coming any moment now. Confirmation from the frontlines has already started rolling in. And we know how many god-kin they have."
"How's the new unit doing?"
"Uh, well, a few of them are a little upset about it, but even the most prudish of the men and women are used to it enough that they can be mobilized."
"Good, Mother was right. Training isn't just to temper the body, but the mind as well. This unit will prove instrumental in the coming battle."
"I fear our estimations might be a little under whelming. The sight of seeing someone like that, on the battlefield, is definitely going to have an impact. Especially after the other…"
"Enough, I don't want to hear that again right now. I might just go on a slaughter spree if I hear it again."
"As you wish, Majesty." … "Huh? Majesty, we have the report. And we also just got a message from Tus Nadair, they are prepared to receive every single one of the god-kin, and are sending a few hero class, and god-kin class teams to aid in the battle. All of them are our fellow elves."
"Heh, Slane Theocracy's days as a god level power are over. We will summarily crush that idea." The elven queen turned to see her forces, both her own, and the ones they were swelled with. "Today we the true kin of the gods will put to rest any doubts. We will teach the Slane theocracy scumbags exactly what it means to have declared war against us, and a holy one against Mother's blessed people!"
The entire army all around the elven nation stomped thrice, in a clockwise direction, north to the east, to the south, to the west, turning to the north. A signal to all of the allies, pumping them up for battle.
"You are to primarily target their false god-kin. Slay them with no mercy, bag their corpses. For mother in all her benevolence wishes to give them a chance to repent for their crimes against the world!"
Again, the stomps cycled around the nation's formations. This time, the enemy grew scared.
…
"Are they planning to use earthquake magic to defeat us? … Summon all of the angels you can! Bolster our numbers and prepare for combat!"
The Slane Theocracy's army began moving for the inevitable blood bath ahead.
"May the gods be the wind at our backs, the fire in our hearts, the earth as our foundation, and the flow of water… May life challenge us, and may death comfort us."
…
"My brethren! My friends, and family!" The queen sounded out, dawning her helm. "Onward to war! Let them pay for their crimes, with their blood, and screams!"
The elven army didn't wait a moment longer than required. Elves, born and raised with the love of their people, and their goddess, rose like a sea of armor. The mages ran following close behind their warrior allies.
"Throw me!" A mage said.
"Ahahaha! I've wanted to say this, a perfect chance! MAGIC MISSILE!!!! " The warrior nearby chuckled as he threw the mage forward.
"Nice spell! When'd you learn it!?" Another warrior asked, as the others laughed and ran forward with weapons drawn.
The thrown mages caste a spell to lift themselves high up in the air. "Rain of Fire!" Some would cast other elemental wide ranging magic. And the first blood went to the mages.
"They're doing good out there." The queen had her mage guard summon a magic board. "Let's go." Her twin blades, drawn for battle, thirsty for the blood of the sinners.
…
A special operations team was in place, when their leader put a hand to his head, and made a few nods. Then the message was done.
"This is our mission. Let us see it through without fail."
"We're prepared whenever, now's as good a time as any."
"Begin the operation."
This group of elves were trained in some of the most intense assassin skills possible. Their mission, simple, yet some would call it cruel, but it… Well…
"Ah! Who are you?" A frightened woman nearly jumped out of her skin. "Huh, an elf?" Her eyes widened in horror.
"You have two options, accept our mother's benevolence and live a healthy and peaceful life with your child in a safe place. Or you can die here."
"GUARDS!"
"That won't work. No one can hear you right now. Now choose." The elf put the blade next to the woman's throat. "Stop wasting my time. I'm a very busy woman tonight."
"What'll happen to my children, if I refuse?"
"It's irrelevant to your choices. Now pick."
"I… Refuse to trust the words of a demon…"
The elven assassin ripped out the woman's throat. "That was the wrong choice. Now then, two children, one newborn. But why did she say children? Oh yeah there's that giant nursery the others are taking care of. They all go there after they turn 1…" She stopped, and tapped the druidic stone creating a small temporary portal.
"Ah, wonderfully done. A shame the woman refused to listen to reason. She'll be suffering for her sins in that other place."
"I'm sorry, she called us demons, and I lost my temper-"
The Tus Nadairian woman walked over, lifted the elf's chin, kissed her lips, and then smiled. "Don't worry, even if you chop them up, Mother can still fix it. Let them suffer for daring to demonize us. Good luck on your next target." The woman left through the still open portal, dragging the throat-lacking woman, and gently carrying a newborn that instinctively went for milk… The portal closed behind her.
The assassin moved to her next target. And while she did there were dozens of these situations taking place all over the Slane Theocracy. The nurseries, so to speak, were where the god-kin were born and bred. Naturally they had numerous children with the god-kin's blood line. All of them were rapidly being brought to Tus Nadair, to have an opportunity to learn about the world without the hell of indoctrination…
