Raiden Mei.
A teenage woman with a brilliant physique, extremely beautiful face and body. He purple locks were long and mesmerizing, with matching purple eyes to boot.
Even with the pink armour she wore while fighting through mobs of honkai and zombies, she still looked as graceful as ever.
It's easy to see why Kiana admires her so much.
Mei dodged an attack from a zombie by going under and twirled while staying low, making her katana slash through the zombie like butter.
She then gracefully stood up straight and sheathed and blade behind her.
"Hmm. That should be enough."
Although, during this time of silence, Mei failed to realise that there was in fact, on zombie still left. Using its weapon as a crutch, it silently approached Mei, as if to finish her off.
Several hurried footsteps followed suit as an excited tuna barged into the room and kicked the zombie away, a large cat paw emerging from her foot.
Mei looked back, completely startled by this, but Kiana's smiling face never left her.
"Mei!" She excitedly screamed and hugged her from behind. "I'll get the strength of 100 warriors if Mei's around!"
"A hundred ? I'm not ultra woman..." Said Mei, completely misunderstanding her words.
"No! I mean, if Mei senpai's around, I feel my power increase a hundred fold! Ten thousand fold if both you and Alastor are there! Especially Alex..." Kiana corrected her and blatantly showed just how much she truly liked Mei.
Mei smiled fondly when she heard her say that.
"Well, he definitely is an ultra man."
They then exchanged a few words while moving forward, but Kiana was very destructive and ran through the hordes of zombies recklessly.
"...alright, Kiana. Keep being"flexible" and I'll have to reconsider your battle deployment." Himeko said from Hyperion, her eyebrows visibly twitching in annoyance.
Of course, if the person in the front lines was Alastor, she wouldn't have complained, since she knows just how strong Alastor is, and the fact that he isn't a reckless idiot like Kiana.
"Still remember why I deployed you with Mei ?" She asked her.
Himeko already expected to hear a stupid, unserious answer from her.
"...because we have a special connection ?" Kiana replied with innocent looking eyes that made Mei stare at her with a deadpan.
"Be serious Kiana."
While she may find Kiana's antics funny and cute, it doesn't mean she approves of them during such serious situations. It makes her mind remember what happened in Nagazora, a memory that made her whole body tremble.
"It was mostly Captain Alexander's idea, but I still completely agree with him. Mei, please take care of her." Said Himeko, making Kiana scowl.
"Hey! Stop belittling me! And that stupid Alex should stop babying me! Hmph!" She folded her arms, closed her eyes, pouted and looked away.
Kiana then looked up at Mei while still pouting, but her face changed when she saw a bunch of honkai beasts appearing behind her.
"Mei! Watch out!"
She screamed and whipped out her dual pistols, with which she shot at the Archangels behind Mei. The latter quickly rolled out of the way and donned a serious expression as the weight of the situation sunk in.
They still had a mission to complete.
So, with her sword drawn out, Mei began twirling around and slicing up zombies and honkai beasts left and right, while Kiana quite literally tore through them like they were made of paper.
Maybe she really did receive the strength of a hundred warriors.
Kiana occasionally, in between shots, launched a few attacks from her trusted "Neko-charm!", which proved to be super effective at pushing the honkai back.
The zombies and archangels were easy. The chariot class honkai beasts were harder to deal with and it took them more time and even more effort to get rid of them.
Mei traded blades with a scythe wielding zombie while Kiana shot her round at a honkai beast. Mei's katana clashed with the scythe her opponent wielded.
As she was focused on fighting the zombie, her battle instincts warned her of incoming danger and she quickly ducked under a rogue first from the honkai beasts. Kiana responded to this by shooting the zombie while Mei slashes the honkai beast multiple times, making it scream out violently.
They then switched opponents and Mei swiftly beheaded the zombie, leaving Kiana to deliver the finishing blow to the honkai beast.
Kiana didn't spare a moments worth of time and quickly jumped to the next section of the battleship, leaving Mei to disable the traps to make things easier for them.
Kiana didn't understand why she would waste her time with that. Bronya and Alastor were the tech-smart people, not them. But then again, Mei was the daughter of the owner of ME Corp, so it makes sense for her to be knowledgeable about electronics and their functioning.
Kiana began to juggle the next zombie in the air before slamming it on the ground with a "Neko-charm!", Something she followed by roundhouse kicking the next zombie across the metal ground and pinned it to the wall, before shooting it's head.
Mei slashed upwards, throwing the zombie in the air, before jumping and spinning around with her blade out. With this attack, she shredded the zombie to bits and when she landed, released a slash to cut the next zombie near her.
Mei dashed around the honkai beasts as Kiana used her arms to flip backwards and avoid getting hit my an enemy attack. Kiana then used her arms to propel herself in the air and slam her foot on the honkai beast, forcing it on its knees.
Mei stabbed it in its neck while Kiana used her superior agility to move around its body and deal several powerful strikes across the length of its white and pink body.
Kiana quickly flopped backwards upon hearing the cries from Mei, avoiding getting crushed under the foot of the Knight Class Honkai Beast.
Immediately upon landing on its four legs, it dashed at Kiana with its weapon pointed outwards, willing to skewer her. But Mei quickly appeared and with her katana, managed to redirect the blade while Kiana jumped around the knight, unloading bullets into it.
Kiana kicked it in the back of the head while Mei pushed the weapon back and slashed at its feet. In a rage, the beast reeled it's forelimbs up and prepared to stop Mei, but the latter easily dodged it and moved out of the way to avoid getting dashed at. Immediately after regaining her footing, she rushed at the knight and delivered a charged slash of energy at the knight to properly kill it.
After killing everything in their way, the two women made it to the aft of the battleship.
Upon arriving, they were expecting company, but the entire room was surprisingly quite. So quite in fact, that it was a little creepy. Eerie, even.
"Himeko told us to gather at the aft of the ship to prepare for a breach."
While Kiana seemed to be stuck in her own world, Mei stood on the sidelines with her lips pursed together. Her eyes trembled and her fingers rubbed against her chin, trying to make out exactly what's going on here.
"Something about this place... It just doesn't feel right."
Seeing her obvious worry, Kiana laughed and waved her hand around, a smug but confident look appearing on her face.
"Oh, Mei! You're always so worried about these small fry! You don't have to worry about these enemies at all, not as long as I'm by your side!" Kiana confidently, and cheerfully exclaimed, even hugging her closely just to prove her point and show her affection.
She then confidentiality walked past her and stood by the control panel, an arm stretched out to play with the screen.
"Alright, let's get on with this breach."
Right as she began typing things down, Mei's gaze hardened. An expression of worry immediately took over as a large shadow was cast across the platform they were on, covering both of them.
Mei quickly rushed to stand next to Kiana and pulled her back, standing in front of her to shield her beloved friend from any possible danger. Her eyes quickly registered the danger the monster in front of her truly proposed.
An Emperor Class Honkai Beast.
"Kiana! Watch out!"
Kiana looked up with a shocked expression, her eyes trembling a little.
"What ? But didn't I send this guy packing last time ?" She questioned, remembering when she fought and forced this very same honkai beast to retreat earlier that day.
The emperor class honkai beast was a tall and monster figure of white and pink, several wing-like blades floated all around its pelvic region and it's back and even the areas where it's limbs should've been.
It was quick to attack and Mei immediately got hit by it, making her gasp in pain and fall back on her rear.
"Mei! Damn you!" Kiana, who was outraged by the audacity this thing had to injure Mei, rushed at the honkai beast recklessly, ignoring the worried cries of the fallen Raiden Mei.
The honkai beasts easily shook Kiana off its body and threw her around the metal ground. The sheer scale of the ragdolling she suffered from the beast managed to knock some serious damage on her as she hot her head against the ground very hard.
Kiana was then thrown back and the beast tried to go for the finishing blow while she was still disoriented. As it's Bladed appendage was lifted upwards, it brought forth it's weapon in a downward arc, hoping to cut Kiana open.
CLANG!
The loud, echoing sound of metal clashing with one another rumbled through the setting atmosphere. The honkai beast staggered in confusion when Mei managed to block it's attack with her sword. Unfortunately, her body seemed to be very fatigued from her injuries and the constant fighting.
Her arm muscles spasmed and her breath was coarse and fast, her chest heaved up and down. Mei struggles to keep her eyes open as sparks flew out the area of contact between the two.
As their little clash continued, Mei was slowly getting pushed back. Her legs buckled and her arms felt like jelly, but her eyes showed nothing but unwavering determination. She couldn't fail here! She couldn't afford to! If she loses this, Kiana will die! There's no way she would ever allow something like that to happen!
Her heart rate increased as her mind went a mile a minute.
"I can't... fall here..! I have to... save Kiana..." Her voice trembled and struggled to come out, just as she was slowly beginning to give way.
A sudden flash flickered high in the sky and the wind suddenly picked up around them. From the skies above, a glowing sphere of red flew towards the honkai beast from behind at high speeds. Sensing something coming, the honkai beasts stopped exerting as much force as it did earlier and leaned backwards, but the crimson circle was too fast to avoid.
A large crimson-dipped khadga quickly embedded itself into the back of its head, making the entire thing fall to the ground and Mei was pushed back from the force of impact.
Another flick in the air, and a guest of wind blew past the place. A bunch of body parts from deceased honkai were thrown into the air and blown away by the winds. The emperor class honkai beast was ripped to shreds and it's broken pieces cluttered against the hard metal ground.
Standing next to the shattered body of the honkai beast, was a tall man with curly black hair and mesmerizing crimson eyes, dressed formally for this battle to save the city from the honkai.
It was Alexander.
And Bronya was right on que, behind him.
Mei cradled the current unconscious Kiana Kaslana and looked up at her friends with a fond expression, one filled with relief.
"Bronya, Alex... Thank goodness you're both alright." That was the last thing she said before she also succumbed to the intensity of the battle she just fought.
Mei's body collapsed, but Bronya quickly grabbed her before she could hit the ground. Her face remained stoic but anyone would be able to discern the obvious worry in her eyes.
"Mei!"
Meanwhile, Alex quickly grabbed the back of Kiana's head gently, before it could hit the ground.
Since Mei had lost consciousness, Kiana would have also fallen down and Alex grabbed her since Bronya grabbed Mei.
