Chapter 29 - Arrival

My hands are stiff on the wheel as we speed along the road, I feel like we are getting closer to where we need to be, wherever it is, it needs to keep us safe. Fugitive. I don't even know what to think, my memory has slowly been returning in very small glimpses, not of people either which is extremely irritating. It's been of places, locations but I still have no idea where any are, I'm just hoping this place is one. Shortly after we turned the radio on it was promptly turned off again, glancing at Rose she's just staring a head at the road her mind seemingly elsewhere, I can't blame her really being labelled a fugitive, she may have a family, an entire life which may all end now that she's been labelled a fugitive. I'd like to think I know her know but thinking about it I don't even know why she was at the rebellion, she didn't really say much about it.

"Rose, you don't have to answer if you don't want to but I have a quick question. What were you actual doing in the rebellion, like what was the reason?" Will questions out as the sound of the engine provides a low buzzing sound within the car. Sighing out loud she replies "I was asked to make use of my talent. And I did that" A vague answer causing Will to think, obviously there are specific talents needed to run a rebellion but leadership skills, she wouldn't be here if she was a leader she would of escaped with a group. A fighter, hating to think she doesn't seem like much of a fighter, she's far too kind. Tactician, same reason as leader, she would have left in a group. His thoughts waver but come to some small conclusions.

A day has passed since escaping the attack at night, the rebellion split into multiple groups but the largest remains on the move, going for to take over Transmission Prime. Morals are at an all time low as they lose more and more people every hour, every fight. "We need to keep on pushing!" Mr Collins barks to the makeshift leaders of the group. "If we give up now we will never be able to recover" A statement which no one could disagree with, it was quite simply the truth. "The morals are too low, no one wants to continue, there is no drive for this anymore" someone replies with murmurs of agreements sounding from around the group. Mr Collins stands leaning against his rifle, thoughts racking his brain, what could boost the moral. His train of thoughts interrupted by a voice making its way through the group of leaders "How about we strike the military building in a concise attack to take it down, use everything we have, get rid of their main base." Now that is an idea everyone would back"

Humming to myself i finally see a turn off, I don't know why but I must go down it. Following the road the forests gets much denser as we approach a cliff face, looking ahead is a gargantuan metal frame which when we get close enough it slowly opens, glancing over at Rose she seems to be napping again, tapping her awake I whisper gently "We have arrived, I think." Watching her sit up she's smiles back at me "Took you long enough to find it" she giggles out. Smirking I begin to drive through the opened gateway. Following the road through we enter a small stone road with support beams running along the walls and roofs covered in floodlights. "Not another road to follow" I hear Rose utter. "I'm sure whatever this place is won't have a road running inside a mountain for long, that just seems a bit stupid, don't you think?" I reply. Looking ahead i gaze down the road thinking I see the road open up."Look, something new already." Driving into the space I realise it's a car park, even though there is no other car. Parking up we both get out and stretch our legs. "Finally, I feel like my legs are non-existent after that" Rose remarks causing us both to laugh. "Let's get moving then" I state as we begin walking to the door. Reaching the door I push it open as I enter with Rose following close behind me. "What is this place?" I question aloud, almost rhetorically. Moving through the corridors there are multiple signs and other doors and by what the signs say we are in a testing or research facility. "Look, there's an elevator, let's look inside to see if there is a map" Rose speaks taking lead. As I enter behind her I notice she's reading a map, she was right. "Look, we must be at floor 1" she states pointing the list of rooms on floor 1. Her hands moves up until she speaks again "Lets go to floor 20, there's a control room there and by the looks over it a bedroom." Nodding along she already presses the button as the elevator doors shut as we begin to move up. Before I can even speak the door opens again, that was quick. "Follow me Will" Rose voices grabbing my hand and dragging me along as she follows signs to the control room. Coming up to a door it automatically opens as she drags me inside, oh my god. The first thing getting my attention is the massive windows set up overlooking the valley below where you can barely see the road we travelled along, the second things is all over the different controls and devices and finally, quite surprisingly. The lack of people. "Isn't this view so pretty" Rose exclaims borderline bouncing over to the window. Leaving her to herself as I quickly reply an agreement I move over to what I believe to be the main computer directly in the centre of the room. Sitting down the it automatically turns on as a username is flashed along the screen. Dr J Wilson. With a password required below. Calling over to Rose "Can you come here, I think I found something, but first we need a password for some guy" Looking over I see Rose making her way until she reaches me moving behind my chair leaning across my shoulder. "Oh god" I hear her whisper, a distraught tone encompassing her voice. "What, what is it I ask?" I question back beginning to wonder what is wrong. "I think we are in Dr Jake Wilsons personal research lab"
