During dinner, Zhou Mingchen suddenly received a phone call, stood up mid-conversation, and walked to the window.
He rarely takes calls during meals unless it's a very urgent situation. Xia Lu looked up and noticed that after saying a few words on the phone, he glanced back at her, which made her secretly suspect the call had something to do with her. But he was standing too far away and speaking quietly, so she couldn't hear what he was saying.
After a short while, Zhou Mingchen put down his phone and returned.
"Who was calling just now?" she asked immediately.
Zhou Mingchen looked at her, "Why, are you suddenly curious about my personal calls now?"
Xia Lu puffed her cheeks, thinking this guy is lying without even preparing a story. With how he glanced back at her after speaking just a few words, it definitely wasn't a personal call; at the very least, it had something to do with her.
"Was it really a personal call?" she asked back, "Why do I feel like it's related to me?"
