Chapter 804 - Chapter 803: Firefly Throwing Straight balls, Pei Guang About to Crash (Part 1)

Pei Guang's fight with Stelle ended with Pei Guang's defeat.

With his green onion snapped in half by a giant rye bread, Pei Guang, now unarmed, could only get chased around by Stelle swinging a flaming rye bread at his head.

After playing around for a bit, Firefly and Acheron, who had merged in, gathered when Himeko called everyone together.

After all, they still had serious business to take care of.

Himeko looked at Pei Guang: "I just spoke with Welt, but I still plan to ask your opinion. What do you think about Penacony? Tell us your guess."

Himeko had originally called Pei Guang over to ask this, but she hadn't even started before Stelle started messing around, and once Stelle played around, Pei Guang joined in too.

Now that they were done, they could finally talk properly.

Everyone acknowledged Pei Guang's prophecy ability. Unlike March 7th's predictions, Pei Guang could get both the process and the result right.

Pei Guang: "Oh boy, here we go again with the prophecy stuff. But since you want me to guess, I do have some thoughts, it's just…"

Pei Guang didn't answer directly. He glanced at a strange bird perched on the rooftop. As a player, Pei Guang had excellent map awareness.

He had been here several times. Even though the pedestrians changed, he had been paying attention to the buildings and details around them.

He'd noticed that ever since he met up with everyone here, a weird bird had been staring at them, almost like it was monitoring them.

Pei Guang could basically guess who was watching, so he decided to mess around.

Pei Guang: "Speaking of prophecy, I feel like March's predictions are actually pretty accurate. Look at Luofu: she predicted the first person she met would definitely be the final boss and that came true.

Before we entered the dream this time she predicted the Family turning against each other and blood flowing everywhere. If anyone's prediction is right, I think Sunday killed Robin."

As soon as he said that, everyone sucked in a breath.

March 7th: "Huh? How did this end up on me? I was just making things up! If we're talking accurate guesses, that'd still have to be our Ah Guang!"

Stelle: "Exactly, exactly. Our Ah Guang's prophecies are undefeated."

Pei Guang: "Keep hyping me up! One day you're going to hype me to death."

Pei Guang was too tired to argue anymore.

Whatever. Let it be.

Welt: "You're probably not randomly guessing. Tell us your thoughts."

Welt understood Pei Guang: every time Pei Guang claimed to be guessing, he was actually basing it on experience.

To him, Pei Guang must have found some evidence or seen something. He wouldn't just guess blindly.

Pei Guang rolled his eyes: "I've got zero evidence, just guessing. Who knows, maybe the final boss of this Penacony trip really will be that pair of siblings."

March 7th: "Huh? It's them? If it's them, why don't we just take care of them first…"

March 7th made a throat-cutting gesture.

Pei Guang waved his hand: "No need. It's just our guess. We'll deal with him when we have evidence. Before that, we should focus on finding the real killer of Robin. Based on my observation, Something Unto Death doesn't seem to kill randomly. It has a target. It's premeditated."

"Cutiefly~ come here~"

Firefly: "Are you calling me?"

Pei Guang nodded: "Who else?"

Pei Guang pulled Firefly closer and explained: "Back when I was with Firefly, she told me she wanted to obtain the Watchmaker's legacy. And since I was with her, I also started wanting to find the Watchmaker's legacy. Then the two of us got ambushed.

So I have good reason to suspect that the target of Something Unto Death is people who are extremely fixated on the Watchmaker's legacy."

Himeko frowned in thought: "So Robin was killed because she was searching for the Watchmaker's legacy?"

Pei Guang nodded: "Based on current analysis, that seems like the most likely possibility."

If he didn't have a mini-map showing Robin was still alive, Pei Guang would have treated this as just a guess. But the Robin struck by Something Unto Death didn't actually die: she just moved to a brand new map.

March 7th: "So that monster attacks people based on how obsessed they are with the Watchmaker's legacy?"

Pei Guang looked at Something Unto Death on the mini-map. "Not sure, but I guess there must be people in Penacony who, like Firefly and Robin, were attacked by Death."

Pei Guang was too familiar with self-triggering murder mechanics. This felt like a rule-based horror scenario: if you don't trigger the condition, nothing happens.

Penacony was huge, and the number of invited guests was countless. But so far, it seemed like only their side and Robin's side had been attacked.

Pei Guang didn't believe only a few people cared about the Watchmaker's legacy. There had to be many.

So there must be hidden conditions—or someone was filtering targets.

Pei Guang leaned toward it being "controlled by someone." As for who, he felt Misha was highly suspicious.

Most people couldn't see him, and he had the ability to go to deeper dream layers. His companion, the Clockboy, could guide him into deeper dream realms.

Putting everything together, Pei Guang felt Misha definitely had issues. As for what issues, they'd have to uncover it later.

After summarizing his thoughts, Pei Guang finally continued: "I have an idea: let's split up. I'll go look for Something Unto Death and see if I can get more clues. You all try to gather information through the Families or other methods."

March 7th: "You're going to go find that monster? No way! Can you even beat that thing alone?"

Pei Guang: "Actually, I can. But since you're worried, let's go together?"

March 7th's eyes sparkled: "Really?"

Pei Guang nodded: "Of course."

March 7th turned to Firefly: "Then what about this girl?"

Pei Guang looked at Firefly and asked directly: "Cutiefly~ are you still planning to explore with me?"

Firefly had been feeling mixed emotions watching March stay by Pei Guang's side: it was her first time feeling so conflicted.

But when Pei Guang called her "Cutiefly" again, her hesitation instantly hardened into resolve.

Based on what she knew, Pei Guang and March 7th… could only be considered "high progress route, high affection," but according to the intel she obtained, the two hadn't taken the final step yet.

They were stuck between 'almost together' and 'not quite there'.

So Firefly couldn't be blamed for being forceful now. Since she had made up her mind, she had no intention of giving up.

She knew her own tragic circumstances very well: if she used her background as leverage, she could win against March 7th in the first round. But at this moment, Firefly didn't want to use her background.

She wanted… to attack openly and honorably.

Thinking of this, Firefly walked straight to Pei Guang: "I do! After facing Something Unto Death, I confirmed my feelings. I want to explore with you forever, to complete the script of life together, until my life fully ends, until my story is completely played out."

The moment Firefly said this, Himeko and Welt narrowed their eyes at Pei Guang.

These two had already noticed it: Pei Guang confidently raising affection everywhere like this was going to cause trouble eventually.

They just didn't expect it to happen so soon.
