As I began to lose my senses, my body felt a surge of power, I've rose up 4 realms of cultivation, at the level of 5th realm of core formation, I was unsure of my actual strength now.
The endless void has finally absorbed the sand worms energy.
I gasped for air under the sand, the small particles of air blocked in-between the grains of sand began flowing to my mouth.
*That was close... It's still hard breathing here... Maybe because my body isn't compatible with the surrounding like that of a sandworm... And the only way for me to breath are from my nostrils and mouth... If I keep staying here I'll surely suffocate again...*
I tried going up, unlike before the sand didn't pull me down, it felt more like that I was grabbing rocks to climb up.
*Is this another effect from absorbing the sand worms energy?.. my skin grabs onto the sand and unite them temporarily for me...* ...
As soon as I got up, I gasped for air once more, it has become a lot easier to breathe than before...
"Phew..." I was relieved to make it out of there...
I laid on the sand, resting, without knowing I drifted off to sleep from the tiredness...
Some hours passed, the sun was going down, the desert looked peaceful, as the moonlight began lighting the desert, the stars shone from afar, the scenery looked captivating, and some stars shot through the sky.
A loud yawn~
I slowly opened my eyes, my body was half covered in sand, my throat dry, begging for water, I groaned as I sat up, looking up towards the sky...
*I'm gonna die of thirst...*
I slowly got on my feet before looking around... I could see some lavish greenery in the far to my right... I stretched out my arms and legs before walking towards what seemed to be a forest.
*Let's hope there's something to eat or drink there..*
As I walked through the desert, I wrapped my hands with condensed QI and squeezed cactuses, drinking the small amount of water dripping from them to soothe my thirst.
I have finally reached the forest, as soon as I stepped into the forest the ambience changed, the temperature dropped in an instance, from the warmth of the desert even in the night to a chilly breeze that passes by every minute.
The trees in this jungle were more durable than normal, from their roots they were imbued with natural QI overflowing this land, the insects croaked and the animals slept peacefully, the moonlight creeping through the leaves of the trees, vines dropping from every tree of the jungle like some man made forest, the bushes moved to the pace of the wind breezing through, giving a refreshing feeling, the fruits growing from these trees were filled with QI, their flavour extravagant and their effects were like a medical pill crafted by an expert alchemist. The forest housed all types of animals and monsters.
I walked through the trees, cutting the branches and bushes that got in my way using QI infused to my fingertips.
I ate what looked like fruits from trees as I walked deeper and deeper, the fruits replenishing my strength and energy slowly but surely.
*How flavourful... They are filled with QI too... If only if I had a spatial ring... I would've brought a whole ton of these back and even made a fortune by selling them... The necklace is only for storing monster corpses to evaluate them as points... What a waste...*
I sighed as I finally found a good resting place, a small cooped up space with the roots of a big tree, giving shelter from monsters and other contestants.
*It's weird that I haven't ran into any other contestants yet, well... There's still 14 days left... Everyone must be playing it safe since we just started.*
"Hey, N'zerath..." I said... Checking up on him, I haven't heard a word from him in hours and nor did he help me when I was fighting the sandworm...
"What?" He hissed, appearing out of my arm, wrapping around it.
"Just checking, you weren't talking for a while..." I said, looking at him.
He hissed once more, letting out a small chuckle...
"Well I was checking your body... And also preparing a surprise for you~"
I lifted one of my eyebrow, curiosity slowly over taking.
"Surprise you say?, what might that be?"
N'zerath laughed, sliding over my arm and nearing towards my face.
"Brat, it's not ready yet... You interrupted me while I was preparing it..." He hissed
"I need about a day or two... So don't interrupt me anymore unless it's an emergency, you may also need to keep eating those fruits you were eating before, because it's going to be a bit draining for the next day~"
And he slowly wrapped around my arm again and disappeared into my arm.
I was really taken back.
"Since when can you do that!?.. oh wait... So that's the reason I wasn't seeing him all this time..." I rolled up the sleeve of my right arm to see the his mark as a black serpent coiled around my arm like a tattoo.
Sighs...
I stretched out my arms and placed down the old sword on my waist next to me.
*Well whatever...*
I rolled the sleeve back down...
*I should hunt some monsters tomorrow... And maybe even get some points from the other contestants... Well corpses to be exact...*
