Chapter 39 - Please dont buy

Pamela's POV

I was told that picking out a dress, meeting with different planners woud give me something else to think about.

But they were wrong about that.

I wanted to break down. I wanted to fall apart and throw the whole catalogue against the wall and scream until I couldn't say anything else

Instead, I remained calm even though I wasn't and looked through wedding samples and designs as if this wasn't forced on me.

"We'll only do what you want," Amarok said when the provider went to get another book plan.

 "You don't have to do anything you don't want. It's your choice."

"Thank you." The word didn't feel real to me.

 "I need some time to think about it."

They all agreed, smiling gently.

 Amarok put his hand on my shoulder like a caring brother. I felt a little bit grateful...small, but it all felt wrong, like I was going through danger here.

Because even though they talked about choices and keeping me safe, Ambrose had already decided what would happen in life.
