Chapter 390 - Chapter 390

"Brother, this is it, we hit it big, brother…We really fucking did, we got the money now, we can buy back what is ours by right!!", a blue-haired young knight said with tears in his eyes; he had his hand on his brother's chest.

But his brother was barely alive right now; he had a big wound on his abdomen, and his face was pale from blood loss. The injury looked to be recently stitched together, but the blood loss and the internal damage were already taking away his chances of surviving.

These two brothers were fallen nobles whose father lost their estate by gambling, and they resorted to making this gang to generate enough coin to buy back their land and title. Their last hit was big time; they got information about an elf transported by a caravan of slavers who dared to venture into the Elven forest and get their hands on an elf.

The brothers were early level four aura knights themselves, but they didn't expect the caravan to have a slaver knight who, not only was middle level four, but he was also a rune knight, which was a title given to an aura knight who had a powerful magical item like an enchanted armour or a magical sword of sorts.

So in the end, they fought hard to kill the rune knight and steal the slaves, which they sold immediately to the slave master. But one of the brothers didn't make it out of the fight with light injuries; no…Now he was barely breathing, clinging onto life.

In this room, that was the most luxurious in the barracks, a bloody pile of flesh and bone sat in the corner, covered by ripped rags of what looked like the cloth of the True Flame. This was the gruesome remains of a nun of the True Flames who did her all to heal the fallen noble, but his angry sibling wasn't satisfied, so he punched her with level four aura….

The fallen noble didn't leave his brother's side, but suddenly he felt a coldness enter his heart. In that split second…

"Don't worry, I'm sure he'll pull through", a cold voice reverberated in his ears.

His eyes widened, and a deep blue aura exploded from him, smashing the room's walls to pieces as he turned around with his hand drawing his sword from his belt, but what he saw behind him spelled his doom.

A gold mask looked down at him from above, but above the mask, a big battle axe with glowing blue runes was falling down at him, its sharp edge gleaming in the darkness.

SLASH

SLIDE

Ali watched the upper half of the knight's body diagonally slide to the ground off his waist before blood gushed everywhere.

"What do the glowing blue lines do exactly?", Ali said to himself, looking at George's axe in his hand.

"It's light and very sharp… My aura flows incredibly using it; I barely have to control my aura to enter the axe before it jumps into it like a host…", Ali commented on the axe as he let out some of his black level three aura, which entered the axe easily and covered it in the black, thick aura.

Ali lowered the axe and simply continued his work with the axe in his hand…

He heard numerous footsteps in the garrison from below, the place which he turned into a ghost garrison after he killed every member of this gang and dried them of the blood before throwing them the corpses to his Dagon as a snack.

'No mission from killing level four knights', Ali was slightly disappointed as he smoothly slit the injured knight's neck with the edge of the axe.

'I guess the interface now has a very high opinion of my strength after killing a god's spawn, huh… Easier for them to enjoy the Origin I harvest and give little back, forcing me to go after more dangerous targets. But what happens if I get a mission early with good rewards but now I'm too strong for it?', Ali thought, looking at the hunting mission for the Wolf King.

'I wouldn't take this mission as the example since this Beast King is pretty strong and very dangerous…And I'm not too excited to play with lightning right now…', Ali thought as he entered the garrison's head office and started taking photos of the papers with his phone, sending it to Miles and reading them using the translations on the phone.

'But it does bring up the question…', Ali thought, pausing his search as he had just walked halfway down to the dungeons.

'How wrong am I?', Ali smirked, thinking of the question. "How strong am I, heh", Ali smiled, saying it out loud, "I didn't think I would ever have to ask that question again. Back on Earth I knew exactly what I was and where I stood.", Ali said to himself as he descended the stairs.

He entered the dungeons to find it completely empty. The cells down there had remnants of the slaves, their blood, clothes, and broken chains but nothing of value…

'The Force is my most useful weapon and most flexible for sure, but loses a lot of power when I face that necklace, since there's a limit to how far I can use throwing objects and weapons at powerful opponents. But it still boosts my melee combat. Facing me head-on alone is stupid, but me with my weapons floating around is even dumber.', Ali thought, walking up the stairs.

'Force Lightning is strong offensively but is also very one-dimensional. It's expensive and doesn't enchant my weapons or body with lightning, only passes through before discharging quickly. Golden Circle is good on attack and defence, also very quick casting time, making it hard to react up close. Fire Ball is trash. Shadow Step is very good and boosts my speed greatly but needs a shadow, which is not guaranteed in certain situations and depending on who I'm fighting.', Ali thought, looking at the thirty men standing in a semi-circle around a big pile of coins, chests, and steel.

They all had their heads lowered, not daring to look up at him and not making a sound. Ali looked at the pile and walked past it. "Leave it to Rook…", Ali said, leaving the garrison. None behind him dared reach out and take a single coin, even though they were dirt poor, but these men understood something.

'He is our saviour, he will take us and our families out of this darkness and the deadly hand of the nobles', one of them thought, looking behind at the empty entrance. 'His Lordship, the master of Dragons and champion of the weak', he nodded at the others around him, and they left the garrison to go report to Rook and take up their positions in this liberated part of the city, under the nose of nobles who didn't even acknowledge this place's existence.

'The Star Path through, this magic line of connected stars is probably my most valuable gain from this world so far. It's just not part of my Interface yet, so I really need to make sure I take it as a reward. Halving the cost of any spell and the ability to use my own spells from different worlds is just overpowered', Ali thought, jumping from roof to roof.

'Then comes Aura. It's just solid all around, a cheap power that can empower my body and enhance my attack, and it's easy to gain as a reward from Interface with the personal missions'.

'That leaves my most powerful ability, the Dragon Hall. I might as well be the Dragon apostle at this point. It's my trump card and obvious future path as it totally depends on Spirit. I have access to every element using it and the most powerful beasts.', Ali thought as he stood on the roof of a large tavern, looking at an area filled with drunk adventurers.

His eyes especially locked onto a building where the platinum platoon of the adventurers guild were residing, and at the alley next to it were two of the Fire guild's finest who were roughly fucking their newly bought slaves.

'So where do I stand now? How strong am I compared to the rest in the second level of Paradise?', Ali thought.

'Well, I definitely am near the top now, but I wouldn't say the strongest yet because of one thing. The ten-point attribute, once a player hits ten points in a specific attribute, a universal evolution in that attribute occurs. An evolution that gives them a sizeable boost to their power. And I know for sure that the number one player, the Rock guild leader has more than ten points in strength, which means I could die from one punch of his.', Ali thought.

'And also, players are just the worst people to fight; you simply cannot fathom what they have under their sleeve. Take the kid I'm working with as an example. I am 60% certain he has a nuclear weapon, whether it's in his robot or somewhere else. I know that boy has a weapon of mass destruction. Well, other than his hacking, that would have an entire modern world jumping me if we both are sent to the same modern world.', Ali thought.

'Or Evelyn, she's the apostle of the Death guild, apostle of a god who's powers directly counter players, draining their Spirit with the slightest touch of that fire.'
