Chapter 433 - Chapter 431 : Ambush!!

"Not just those two. Above a house ahead of us, there are two more!"

"One hundred meters to the left rear, there are three more!"

"And also—"

Genya looked at Shino, who seemed a bit anxious, then slowly pointed out four or five other directions.

In every direction, several people were watching them.

Kurenai raised her eyebrows in disbelief as she looked at Genya. She hadn't noticed that many watchers, but Genya spotted them at a glance.

He even named all their positions!

Genya's sharp observation impressed Kurenai greatly.

If she hadn't known Genya was a member of the Uchiha clan, she might have thought he possessed the Hyuga clan's Byakugan, able to see all around with 360-degree vision.

Since it wasn't the Byakugan, Genya must have his own unique way of detecting people.

Something very special.

Kurenai's guess was close but slightly off. Genya's Sharingan actually allowed him to see in a 360-degree range, like the Byakugan, with no blind spots.

"Then we should leave quickly..." Hinata listened to Genya's report and instinctively gripped his arm tightly, speaking carefully.

Shino nodded in agreement. At a moment this dangerous, Genya still wanted to linger and eat?

They were constantly in danger now.

"If I leave now or leave tomorrow, the result will be the same. They've already planned how to ambush us," Genya shook his head, smiling calmly.

"Right now, the Land of Lightning is the safest place."

Shino was now somewhat speechless. Was Genya really not worried at all?

They were currently deep in enemy territory. If the Land of Lightning dared to make a move against them, they would be trapped like frogs in a jar.

"Genya, we need to be more cautious now. Our situation is very dangerous!" Kurenai reminded them at that moment.

From Kurenai's perspective, this was no longer something a few kids like Genya and the others could handle.

So she decided to take command — everything was for the safety of her students.

"What do you want to do, Sensei?" Genya asked, looking at Kurenai.

"The sky is already dark. Let's find a place to rest. Early tomorrow morning, we leave Kumogakure immediately!" Kurenai said seriously.

"Understood."

Hinata and Shino nodded earnestly. Genya was gnawing on a chicken leg, clearly enjoying it, but he nodded as well.

"Tonight, Hinata and I will rest together. You two take the other room."

They found an inn and booked two rooms.

"If anyone attacks you, shout immediately. I'll come to your aid!"

After booking the rooms, Kurenai leaned close to Genya's ear and whispered, "And don't sleep too deeply."

"Our rooms are next to each other. You'll hear if anything happens," Genya nodded.

But in his heart, he thought: If the Land of Lightning really dares to attack us here, I won't hesitate to unleash the Shinra Tensei on them.

The mountain top was uneven. If they didn't behave, Genya might just level the ground for the Land of Lightning.

Still, he lived by the rule: "If they don't offend me, I won't offend them."

They better know their limits.

"All right, go rest now!" Kurenai glanced at Genya.

He still didn't understand why, even with the situation so dire, Genya showed no sign of tension.

Could it be...

Did Genya really have some trump card that guaranteed they would return safely to Konoha?

But he wasn't saying anything, and she couldn't guess.

The night was dark and heavy, with mist rising into the air.

"Why don't we take advantage of their rest and capture these few?" one of the watchers keeping an eye on Genya said with some displeasure as he looked at them sleeping.

"Because we can't afford to cause a stir," another ninja nearby replied. "If our Kumogakure starts grabbing people recklessly, who would dare to come here? The Raikage surely has his own plans. We just need to complete our mission."

"Hmph, if we secretly capture them, no one would know!" the first man objected stubbornly.

"That's where you're wrong," the other answered. "We have to let everyone see them leave Kumogakure."

The night passed quietly.

Early the next morning, the door to the room was pushed open.

Kurenai and Hinata stepped inside and immediately saw Genya sitting cross-legged on the bed, seemingly training.

As Kurenai entered, Genya opened his eyes.

Huh.

Kurenai's gaze met Genya's, and suddenly she felt as if her body was falling — as if she had plunged into an endless, icy abyss, helpless and terrified.

But the feeling lasted only a moment. Even that brief instant was enough to send a cold sweat down Kurenai's spine.

What just happened? She thought Genya looked like a fierce beast, his eyes even more terrifying than the Nine-Tails'.

Was it just an illusion?

"Are we leaving now?" Genya finally spoke, looking at Kurenai, waiting for an answer.

"Yes, dawn has come," Kurenai nodded.

"Eat something before you go," Genya said slowly as he rose, rubbing his slightly hollow stomach.

The sun had just risen, and the surrounding mist was clearing.

Genya and his group left the Kumogakure under the watchful eyes of many.

"The Raikage, they have already left!" someone reported to the Raikage soon after Genya's departure.

Everyone in the Raikage's office immediately became alert.

"Should we set out now?" Killer B stood up eagerly, his eyes bright. It had been a long time since their last battle, and he was impatient.

"Don't let them get too far before acting," Dodai said firmly, giving orders. "You all follow behind and wait for further decisions from Hideki."

And so, Killer B and Hideki, along with a dozen Jonin from the Land of Lightning, set out on their journey.

Among them was the Raikage's bodyguard, Darui.

Genya and the others had left the Land of Lightning and traveled along the way. At first, Kurenai remained very cautious.

But after two days, her heart grew heavier.

"There are two people following us, but they haven't made a move!" Shino Aburame said as he sat by the campfire, watching an insect crawl up to his ear.

He then spoke, "There are only two of them. Should we just eliminate these two directly?"

"They're only watching us," Genya said with a smile, looking up at the distance.

"Behind them, there are seventeen more ninja following, waiting for the right moment to strike."

"Seventeen?" The group frowned and looked back as well.

They even considered whether they should keep running.

"No need to look anymore. They're ready to attack!" Genya said calmly after finishing the wild boar leg he had hunted.

Suddenly, several shuriken flew toward them.

"Enemy attack!"

Kurenai was the first to react, deflecting the incoming shuriken.

They scanned their surroundings carefully, on high alert.
