Chapter 34 - The Academy Beyond Borders

Zane's eyes narrowed slightly as he stepped closer, hands behind his back, his presence towering despite his calm tone.

"Well then…" he said with a soft chuckle. "It's my turn to ask questions."

His gaze flicked from the unconscious girl to the trembling boy who could barely meet his eyes.

"So, tell me… Why did you follow me?" Zane asked, voice smooth but laced with quiet pressure. "Was it because I saw through that little illusion magic of yours?"

Ron swallowed hard, his lips parting slowly.

"Y-Yes…" he stammered. "B-Because it was… it was s-special magic. N-No one should have seen through it, not someone normal. We just wanted to know how—how you…"

Zane raised an eyebrow, folding his arms.

"Explain." His voice carried the weight of command.

As Ron scrambled for words, Zane tilted his head, his thoughts drifting for a moment.
