A sharp Ding! rang out as the countdown on the blackboard vanished instantly. At the same time, the classroom doors slammed shut with a loud Bang!
The thunderous noise startled the students, and before they could react, the curtains throughout the classroom began to shift and move. Forced to dodge and evade, the students quickly became separated from one another.
It seemed that a Silencing Charm had been placed on the curtains, because as soon as someone was cut off from their group, their friends' voices faded into the distance, leaving an eerie silence.
Each student felt as if they had become an island, completely isolated.
Some students hurriedly tried to navigate around the curtains, hoping to reunite with their friends—but all they found were endless layers of fabric.
Was the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom really this big?
It was as if they had been trapped in another dimension.
Then, some students heard rustling noises nearby—and behind the curtains, a small shadow began to take shape…
…
At that moment, Wade had already figured it out.
"The classroom has been enchanted with an Undetectable Extension Charm?"
He was far too familiar with this spell—even without using his special vision ability, he could recognize it instantly.
"Haha! I knew you'd notice!"
Professor Flitwick exclaimed excitedly.
"I told Sierra before—if there's anyone who's an expert in this kind of magic, it's you!"
"It's only temporary," Professor Abigail chimed in with a grin. "I'm currently applying to Professor McGonagall to remodel the Basilisk's Chamber. Maybe you could put in a good word for me?"
"This has nothing to do with favors—remodeling the school's chambers involves a lot of considerations."
Professor McGonagall said with a straight face.
"The school's Board of Governors didn't allocate any funds for such a project, and we also have to ensure that students can safely enter and exit the chamber."
"That's exactly why we're running this experiment!"
Professor Abigail shrugged, then grinned mischievously.
"And we have Wade to thank—he finished crafting all the magical creature Dolls I requested way faster than expected. Otherwise, today's lesson would've just been an introduction to Boggarts."
"Why not do both?"
Professor Flitwick suggested as his eyes twinkled with excitement. "A mix of real and fake creatures would be far more entertaining!"
Professor Abigail paused.
"…That actually sounds like a great idea!"
With a satisfied clap, the two professors excitedly rushed off to bring in a Boggart, while Professor McGonagall pretended not to see anything.
Meanwhile, Wade wordlessly continued to release the Dolls from his bag, one by one—while also giving them very precise instructions:
–Each student can only be attacked by one creature at a time—no ganging up.
–No attacking vital areas.
–No causing permanent injuries.
–No urinating or spitting on the students.
Standing nearby, Professor McGonagall listened in silence.
A cold sweat slowly dripped down her forehead.
As the last magical dolls grew to full size and gripped a wooden club as it grinned wickedly while searching for its target, Professor McGonagall hesitated.
After much thought, she finally decided to address the most unacceptable aspect of all this:
"Wade, your dolls... are they really going to, you know, do that in front of everyone?"
Wade let out a helpless sigh.
"During testing, they did exhibit similar behaviors."
"But... how?" McGonagall still found it hard to believe. "Whose mind did you use to program them?"
"Since they were meant to mimic magical creatures, I used actual magical creatures as the reference—who knew there would be such side effects?"
Wade said, relieved, "Thankfully, these are not for sale. Otherwise, no one would buy them."
——So the students' mental well-being doesn't matter?
McGonagall wanted to ask this, but knowing that Wade had painstakingly handcrafted these dolls and donated them to the school for free, she found it difficult to be too critical.
Fine. It is what it is.
Magical creatures' attacks are always unpredictable and ruthless. Perhaps it is better for students to experience this now—so that if they ever encounter real danger, they wouldn't be so traumatized by a mere slap on the rear that they drop their wands.
Convincing herself of this, McGonagall finally set aside her concerns.
By the time Professors Abigail and Flitwick levitated a large chest into the room, Wade had already finished setting up his master mirror network.
Floating before him were over a dozen enchanted mirrors, each displaying different areas of the classroom.
At McGonagall's suggestion, one mirror was specifically assigned to track Draco Malfoy—just in case the Slytherin troublemaker caused another incident.
Meanwhile, Wade handpicked the most interesting moments and began compiling a new video.
McGonagall would use this as evidence to request additional funds from the Ministry of Magic and the Board of Governors for the chamber renovation project.
…
Unaware that an invisible eye was watching him, Draco Malfoy continued pushing through the layers of curtains.
Despite searching for a while, he hadn't come across any classmates. Instead, he had run into a Grindylow—and had to break off one of its claws just to escape.
Now, frustration and a faint sense of fear were creeping into his heart.
Suddenly, up ahead, a tall figure appeared—it looked a bit like Blaise Zabini.
Draco felt a surge of relief and excitement. He quickly rushed forward and pulled the curtain aside—
And froze in place.
"...Dad?" Draco's voice trembled.
"Dad... what are you doing here?"
Standing before him was none other than Lucius Malfoy.
Lucius slowly turned to face Draco and his icy gaze was filled with disgust, as if Draco were nothing more than an eyesore.
"Dad?"
Draco whispered cautiously with a trembling voice.
"Draco!" The Lucius Malfoy before him roared in fury, "You have disgraced our family! You are unworthy of the Malfoy name! Get out! I have no son like you!"
The furious man stormed toward him, and his imposing presence suddenly resembled Professor Snape.
Panic-stricken, Draco stumbled backward, then turned and bolted.
——What's going on? Why would Father say that? Am I not his son? Is this still because of what happened with Crabbe...?
His mind spun in confusion.
——No matter what Father says, Mother would never allow it. Yes! I just have to find Mother...
Draco had no idea where he was running.
As he turned a corner, he summoned a massive black serpent with his wand, coiling it around a Red Cap that had leaped at him. But the moment he moved forward, another figure appeared—one even more familiar.
Narcissa Malfoy stood there, wiping away tears, crying softly.
"I'm sorry, Draco... The truth is, you are not my child. You were never your father's son either. We found you... in a Muggle garbage bin..."
"You're a Mudblood."
Her voice shook with grief as she continued:
"We've finally found our real child... You should return to your Muggle parents..."
"No! No, that's impossible!"
Draco shouted in disbelief as his world crumbled around him.
Refusing to hear another word, he turned and ran.
Curtains, curtains, endless curtains…
As a faint sense of unease crept into his heart, he saw another figure.
This time, Narcissa lay in a pool of blood and her lifeless gray eyes stared blankly at him.
"AAAAAHHHHHH!!!"
…
"Wade?" Professor McGonagall's sharp voice broke the silence, tinged with displeasure.
"It's not me, Professor," Wade replied at once. "I don't know why Malfoy keeps running back to where the Boggart is."
"But the curtains... why are they shifting?"
McGonagall was mid-sentence when she caught sight of Professor Flitwick's guilty expression.
"...That was me," Flitwick admitted apologetically. "I was trying to guide him toward the exit, but... the more I tried to stop him, the more he went in the wrong direction..."
McGonagall: "..."
She glanced at Draco Malfoy's terrified reflection in the mirror, then sighed.
"Take the Boggart away," she instructed. "They haven't learned how to deal with this creature yet."
