As insufferably irritating as they were, I had to hand it to Ferdinand and his cast of assholes. Their preparedness was far beyond what we could have ever imagined. Like a true tactician, they were using the citizens against us, which could potentially cause an insurrection, in the process.
After all, public opinion was much more deadly than any weapon. An assassination could come from anywhere, and for anyone with a governmental position. However, as someone currently holding that kind of position, I couldn't just sit back and let these bastards do as they pleased.
