Maybe Just Nine
Marce looked at Rachel blankly for a long moment. He was not sure how to respond. He did not want Ashanti thinking that he was disrespectful to Rachel and he did not want to swap information with the Milana either.
Yes, he knew she was the Milana. He could feel it within him. He had been dreaming of this all his life but how could he allow him self to think she would still want him. He was too defective.
Would the Milana actually want a creature so incomplete? He doubted it. So why put himself through a process that could possibly be humiliating.
So he just stood close to the tree line, silently, for a very long time. What could he say? He had already denied the Milana and multiple times so how could he venture to her camp.
His eyes were fixed to Ashanti's back. Would he have to leave her now?
"Smral, Ambruce this is Ashanti and that is Marce." Rachel made preliminary introductions then turned and began walking to their camp.
