Valery didn't sleep, but she did rest.
The vampires in the surrounding area did nothing instead, they stopped their attacks and tried to find the local nobleman, but they were stopped by a wall of ice. That was enough of a message for them to understand that Valery wasn't interested in them and was just passing through.
Even so, the vampires did not continue their fight. Instead, they waited for Valery to leave, and if she did not leave, they would come back to find her and declare their submission.
Meanwhile, Valery stayed and watched Victor, enjoying his tender face as he slept, his soft breathing, and the gentle but sporadic movements of his body. Valery looked at him with affection and amusement.
She couldn't help but laugh when Victor snored a little or said something in his sleep. Nor could she help but blush when he said something about her.
"I didn't know you talked in your sleep..." Valery thought.
