Chapter 18 - 17: From the Dark

Soren didn't know when he woke up nor what all happened.

From what he recalled, which wasn't much, he knew who he was and bits and pieces of his own past. He remembered he died at 35 back home on Terra due to achieving, what the System called, the Dark Ending and acquiring a new chance to live in a new universe.

Out of so many choices, he chose to live in...

"...wait, what was it called again?" Soren thought to himself as he tried so hard to rack his brain to find out what the universe was called.

Bits of memory washed back into his mind. It was an old television show that ended before the System descended and turned their world into a living hell. The story was about two brothers whose mother perished somehow?

It was becoming difficult to remember it all, but it was weird to him. He remembered clearly about his past life and the hell he went through until he died, yet there was clearly memories gone from his mind that should be there. He wanted to remember despite the clear effort it would take to recall it all.

Then, he felt something odd about him.

He couldn't see anything. It was a pure white void all around him and he felt like there was no gravity. He seemed to just be floating around.

Suspended.

"W-what happened?" Soren thought to himself as he moved his limbs. "I can feel my body and it seems to be just fine, but why can't I call my Ancient Magic?"

Then, a spark of confusion flickered to life in his mind. He was sure that, in his past life, he didn't have Ancient Magic. It was only from the popular game Hogwarts Legacy and an exclusive power of the protagonist. He surely didn't have it before...

Annoyance. He didn't know why he kept on about having Ancient Magic when he knew he didn't. It was like something was trying to help him remember.

Irritation. Something felt itchy beneath his very skin. It felt like something so coarse flowed in his veins and took root through his brain stem, but he didn't know why he wanted to tear off all the skin, muscle, sinew, and claw through the bone to scratch the itchiness.

Cold. Soren felt a chill spread through his very bones. He knew that something was trying to incite something to induce him to remember something, yet it was driving him insane.

"What am I not remembering?!" Soren mentally roared out into the white void in anger as he was trying to piece it all together. "What is trying to keep me from remembering?!"

Then...

...just two words broke the spell...

Soren didn't know what the multiple prompts were telling him for the most part, but when he felt himself begin to stabilize somewhat, the parts he was forgetting slowly returned.

He chose to live in the world of Supernatural and lived in that world for a little over three decades as a normal human while remembering the entire plot of the TV show. Soren remembered about Sam, Dean, and the events of the show along with his memories of his life there.

He remembered the parents he grew up with. How he learned magic at Hogwarts. The pain of hearing the Wendigo die due to the flare that Dean used on it.

Of the way Time itself had blinked.

"No fucking way..." Soren thought to himself as his mind slowly put things into place. There was something that unsettled him about how time blinked for him and the way the event ended was nearly exactly like it was in the canon.

He intended to blast the Wendigo with Incendio or Confringo and watch it burn, but something stopped him from doing that. There were many types of gods in Supernatural, but there was only one that Soren knew that could fuck with it on this massive scale.

"CCCCHHHHHHHHUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!" Soren screamed out into the void in a fury that seemed to force the pure white void to crack like glass. The rage he felt from this massive interference was enough to reinforce the Reality Anchors that the System put down with the [Transcendent Immortality] perk he selected at chargen.

"I'm going to blast that arrogant son of a bitch with the Cruciatus Curse until I fry every nerve in His divine body!" Soren roared out in anger as his pupils slowly took on a darker and more insane hue. His sclera (the whites of the eyes) were turning crimson and his irises began to take on a dark golden hue while his body was calling forth something beyond what the professors at Hogwarts taught him...

==={A Supernatural Story}===

"...as the Winchesters left the forest to embark on their latest adventure, one of the party members suddenly vanished like a ghost on the wind..." Chuck was writing in his novel before turning in for the night.

He knew something wasn't right about one of the people in that group in Blackwater Ridge. He had seen some sort of dark shadow over one of them and He couldn't pierce through the shadow to see what lay underneath, which made Him incredibly angry. He decided to simply force that stranger out of His story with the Winchesters, but not before preventing the stranger from doing something to interfere with the Wendigo.

As God, in his Chuck costume, slept, the computer powered back onto the story page He was just writing about and words were typed onto the very page that would shine in dark crimson letters...

"...However, the Stranger knew what had been done. He understood that, while events were being shaped by the Divine, that same force was doing everything it could to prevent his interference. It would be at least several months to a year before the Stranger would return, but he would burn brighter to deliver vengeance against the Divine."

"A survivor, some would call him. A demon, others would whisper in the darkness. Either way, the Divine had made a fatal mistake in attempting to erase this Stranger from another world. There would be many names that they would call him in the days to come."

"Out of them all, only one would spark fear in demons, angels, archangels, and even the Divine themselves. A primal fear that only a true survivor of the Dark Ending could give as a soul from another reality. A Foreigner."

"They would come to fear the Angel of Yharnam."
