Chapter 122 - Thor V

Phil didn't answer right away. He just stood there, watching the truck pull away into the rain. The engines faded in the distance, leaving only the storm overhead.

Finally, he said, "Alright. We'll keep him under. No risks, no chances. But if you're right… when that seal breaks, it's not going to be our choice anymore."

Alex nodded. "Exactly. That's the part you can't control."

Phil sighed and started walking back inside. "Great. Just what I needed—another wildcard."

Alex followed, hands in his pockets. "Better to know it's coming than be surprised later."

Down in the truck, Thor sat in the dark, wrists chained, head low. He didn't pull at the restraints or yell at the guards. His mind was still back in the crater, his heart heavy. For the first time in his life, he had reached for Mjolnir and been denied.

The storm outside kept rolling, thunder distant but steady, as if waiting for him to understand.

Thor sat in the back of the truck, leaning against the cold metal wall. The chains around his wrists cut into his skin, but he didn't care. His mind was only on Mjolnir.

Suddenly, a green light flickered in front of him. Thor lifted his head, eyes narrowing. Out of the glow stepped Loki, standing tall, calm, and dressed like a king.

"Brother," Loki said softly, his voice gentle at first. "Look at you now. Bound in chains. Fallen so far."

Thor's eyes widened. "Loki… you're here? Then tell Father. Tell him to bring me home! He can end this exile—he must!"

Loki slowly shook his head. "That cannot happen."

Thor's face twisted with confusion. "Why? Why not? Why can't he?"

Loki's eyes grew darker, his voice low with false grief. "Because Father is dead, Thor. And it is your fault."

Thor went stiff, breath catching in his throat. "No… that's not true. You lie."

Loki stepped closer, his tone sharper now. "Your pride, your reckless hunger for battle—it crushed him. You broke his heart. His last words were full of shame for you… and then he died. His death came because of you."

Thor's whole body shook. "No… I… I could never—"

Loki cut him off, eyes like ice. "He died while you were banished, far from him. Alone. And with his final breath, he made me king. Not you. Never you."

Thor's chest rose and fell hard, his eyes burning with tears. "If he is truly gone… then I should have been there. At his side. Not here."

Loki leaned closer, his voice sharp and cruel. "It is too late. You will never see him again. Odin is gone forever. And you? You are nothing now. No god, no prince. Just a man left to waste away on Midgard."

" Mother, is angry with you and no one want to see you now" Loki sighed as he said " Goodbye brother"

The green light began to fade, the illusion breaking apart.

"Loki!" Thor cried out, his voice raw and desperate. "Do not leave me like this! Loki!"

Thor sat in silence, his chest heavy. Every word Loki had spoken ran through his head, sharper than the chains on his wrists. Odin… dead. Because of him. The thought burned like fire in his chest.

He pressed his forehead against the wall of the truck, eyes shut tight. His breath came hard, and for the first time, Thor felt truly powerless. Not just without Mjolnir—but without family, without home.

Outside, the storm rolled across the desert, thunder rumbling low. The agents driving the truck glanced at one another as the rain hit harder.

"Storm's picking up," one of them muttered.

"Yeah," the other said, eyeing the rearview mirror. "Feels wrong. Like it's following us."

In the back, Thor lifted his head slowly. His blue eyes stared out into the dark, full of pain but also something deeper—something building.

He whispered, almost to himself, "Father… if you truly are gone… then what am I now?"

The chains rattled as the truck jolted over a bump. Thor didn't move. He just sat there, broken, replaying Loki's words over and over.

Up on the highway ahead, headlights appeared. Another convoy of SHIELD vehicles fell into formation around the truck, keeping their prize locked tight.

The convoy rolled into a small desert town not far from the compound. The storm had followed them the whole way, clouds heavy over the rooftops. SHIELD had decided Thor wasn't worth the trouble of a high-security prison—he was powerless, chained, and broken.

The truck stopped in front of a run-down motel on the edge of town. Agents pulled Thor out, dragging him through the mud. He didn't fight. His eyes were dull, his body heavy.

Phil stood nearby, watching with a frown. "Put him inside. Two guards on the door, cameras in the hall. That's enough. He's not going anywhere."

The agents nodded and pushed Thor into a small room. A bed, a chair, and four walls. That was it. The chains were removed, but his wrists were still sore.

As the guards stepped out, Alex leaned against the doorway. His sharp eyes studied Thor quietly.

"You look worse than when I first saw you," Alex said flatly.

Thor looked up at him, tired but curious. "Then tell me… who are you, really? What are you?"

Alex stepped inside, folding his arms. His eyes glimmered faintly. "In your sight, I might look like something strange. A god of light and darkness together."

Thor's brow furrowed. "I can feel it from you. There is power in you, but not like mine. Light and dark… both at once. How can that be?"

Alex gave a small shrug, a hint of a smirk on his face. "Maybe that's just what I am. Or maybe it's because I'm the new one here, not tied to your old ways. Hard to say."

Thor let out a long breath, shaking his head slowly. "Strange words, stranger man. But you do not lie… I can feel the weight of something in you."

Alex moved closer, then sat down across from him on the old chair. His tone shifted, calmer, more grounded. "But for everyone else? I'm just a doctor. Name's Alex. New York. I work with brains, nerves, fixing people's heads when they're broken. That's my other side."

Thor tilted his head, studying him.

Alex pulled a small card from his coat pocket and set it on the table between them. "If you need help, call me. I don't just patch up bodies. Sometimes I patch up trust too."

Thor picked up the card, staring at it in silence.

Alex stood, walking to the door. Before leaving, he glanced back. "By the way… since you're here, I'll keep an eye on you. Not to chain you—but to keep things safe."
