Loki stepped back from the vault, holding the fake Iridium in one hand. He smiled as the crowd at the gala started to feel a small tension, a strange unease that made even the bravest guests pause. Then, with a flash of golden energy, his body shimmered, and his full Asgardian armor appeared. Shining and impressive, he looked powerful, his green and gold outfit reflecting the light of the crystal chandeliers.
"Pitiful mortals," Loki said, his voice deep and commanding, echoing across the grand hall. "You've seen my patience and cleverness… but now, you will see true power. This world, this weak mortal realm, will bow to me! And anyone who tries to stop me…" He paused, his eyes glowing dangerously. "…will fall."
The guests panicked. Screams filled the hall as everyone ran for the exits. Chaos spread fast.
Loki watched them as he stepped forward, summoning his scepter in his hand. It glowed for a moment, and then a copy of Loki appeared in front of the fleeing crowd. "Kneel before me!" it demanded.
The people ran to the other side, but another copy appeared there too. "Kneel before me!" it shouted again. They turned to escape, but Loki was there, standing on a car. "I said, KNEEL BEFORE ME!"
Slowly, everyone bent down, quietly kneeling. Loki's eyes scanned the room, and a cruel smile spread across his face. "Now, all mortal pride… be silenced," he whispered to himself, enjoying the sight of them bowed.
He walked among the people, the light from his scepter reflecting from the chandeliers. His voice grew louder as he spoke to the terrified crowd. "Now, you've shown your true nature," he said, a hint of amusement in his tone.
He paused, letting his words sink in, looking over the trembling faces. "Isn't this simpler? Isn't this your real state? You chase freedom, but it only brings chaos, disappointment, and despair. You were made to be ruled. To follow. To kneel."
Loki moved slowly between the guests, stepping close to a few particularly defiant ones. They flinched. "See how easily you bend," he continued, speaking with malice. "Freedom only brings you struggle for control, for identity, for something to claim as your own. But in the end… you always return to your rightful place. On your knees."
He turned to the far corner of the room. Even the most stubborn faces were now bowed. "And yet," he whispered, more to himself than anyone else, "you pretend to resist, to fight, to think you are free… while I watch. I see your truth, and it is… deliciously pathetic."
The crowd stayed silent, trembling. Loki's smile widened, reflecting triumph. "Remember this moment," he said softly as he paced. "This is the moment you accepted reality. The moment you admitted who you really are. And no matter how far you struggle, how high you rise, you will always… kneel."
Silence fell. Then an old man stood up. His voice was calm. "We kneel, but not to a man like you," he said, looking Loki straight in the eyes.
"There are no men like me," Loki said, stepping closer. "There are always men like you," Old man continued, eyes narrowing. "And you know what happens to them? They end the same way—forgotten, unimportant, a dog's death."
The old man spat at Loki's face. Loki only smiled, amusement clear in his eyes.
"Such words… but words without power," Loki said quietly. "They always end in silence."
He raised his scepter, aiming at the man. "Look at him," Loki said coldly. "Let him show what happens when mortals fight their true nature."
He fired energy at the old man, but before it could hit, Captain America jumped in, shield raised. The blast hit the shield, sparks flying, and bounced back, hitting Loki and knocking him down.
"Soldier lost in time," Loki said, getting up and looking at Captain America.
"I am not lost," Captain said, shrugging. "I was just asleep for a long time."
The Quinjet hovered above as Tony scanned Loki. "He's barely a god," Tony said. "I know someone far stronger than him." Compared to Alex, Loki seemed weak.
"I know who you mean," Clint said, also mocking Loki, fully aware of Alex's powers.
Loki's expression darkened, sensing their teasing. He tilted his head, smirking. "I see… then show me your power," he said. Suddenly, multiple clones of him appeared, surrounding the hall, all looking identical and threatening.
"I may have been surprised before, but not now… Spectra," he said, eyes glowing with evil. A dark, shadowy figure appeared beside him—his demon familiar. Its presence radiated evil, its single eye glowing.
"What is that?" Loki asked, tilting his head, intrigued by the strange creature.
The evil eye Spectra flashed. Instantly, all of Loki's illusions vanished. Loki was stunned, unable to react. Captain America threw his shield at Loki's face, knocking him out completely.
"Too easy," Clint said, walking up to Loki. He quickly cuffed him, capturing Loki without much trouble, as Loki could not even fight back properly.
The Quinjet doors opened, and Clint and Captain America lifted Loki carefully onto the jet. He was still unconscious, his armor scratched, and his scepter properly secured too. Tony and Clint exchanged a glance, both smirking slightly at how quickly the situation had ended.
Loki groaned as he stirred, his green eyes flickering open for a brief moment, full of irritation and disbelief. "This… is not over," he muttered weakly, his voice rough. But before he could gather his strength, Steve tightened the cuffs around his wrists and secured him to a seat.
The crew aboard the Quinjet moved quickly but efficiently. Bruce monitored Loki's energy signature and the surrounding airspace, making sure no threats approached, while the pilot kept the jet steady, maneuvering smoothly through the night sky. Tony hovered nearby with a holographic scan, analyzing Loki's energy. "Nothing godlike here anymore," Tony muttered. "Honestly, compared to Alex, he's barely a footnote."
Clint leaned against the wall, shaking his head. "Yeah… weak. And dramatic."
