Chapter 169 - Thor Arrives II

Thor crashed through a mass of storm clouds, spinning before righting himself in midair. Lightning burst outward as he roared, fury shaking the heavens. "You dare interfere, Man of Metal!"

Tony hovered several meters away, Loki gripped tightly in one arm. "Yeah, well, you started it, Point Break!" he shot back, his repulsors glowing. "You can't just drop in, grab a prisoner, and call it a day!"

Clint looped above them, drawing another arrow crackling with dark energy. "Thor's getting ready to throw that hammer again!"

"Of course he is," Tony muttered. "Because nothing says diplomacy like throwing a lightning brick."

Mjolnir spun in Thor's hand, forming a cyclone around him. With a shout, he hurled it—lightning trailing behind like a comet. Tony banked hard, Loki in tow, as the hammer tore through the space where he'd been moments ago. The shockwave blew Clint backward, his wings folding briefly from the blast.

"Damn it, I just got the hang of these things!" Clint cursed, catching himself mid-fall and shooting back upward.

Thor extended his hand, calling Mjolnir back. The hammer whirled through the clouds toward him, but Tony intercepted—firing a focused repulsor beam that clashed against the hammer midair, creating a burst of light.

"You think your machines can stand against the power of the storm?" Thor roared, summoning lightning around himself in a massive vortex.

"Machines? Nah." Tony smirked beneath his helmet. "Just really expensive art."

Clint shot a series of arrows that burst into nets of black energy, tangling briefly around Thor's lightning field before shattering under its power. The effort slowed him just enough for Tony to dive closer.

"Cap's not gonna like this," Clint muttered.

"Cap's not here," Tony replied. "Now, let's put the god to bed."

He activated the Eyes of Darkness again, shadows rippling across his armor like living smoke. Thor froze mid-swing, senses cut away once more. Clint took the chance—three rapid shots from his bow, each arrow pulsing with violet energy.

The arrows struck near Thor's shoulder and side, detonating in bursts of impact light. The Asgardian grunted, spinning in the air as lightning flickered uncontrollably around him.

Tony extended a palm, aiming a charged repulsor. "Sorry, Thunderboy—this one's for the jet!"

A blast struck Thor square in the chest, sending him crashing downward through the storm clouds toward the dark forest below. A blinding flash followed, thunder roaring seconds later.

"Got him!" Clint called out, panting slightly from the exertion.

Tony adjusted his grip on Loki. "He'll be fine. Pretty sure Asgard insurance covers lightning-based falls."

Loki chuckled softly despite being restrained. "You mortals never cease to amuse me… always fighting over things you cannot comprehend."

Tony tightened his hold. "Save it, Sparkles. You're lucky I don't drop you right now."

But before Tony could turn back toward the Quinjet, a deep rumble echoed below. The clouds burst apart as Thor rose again, eyes blazing with divine fury. Lightning wrapped around his form like armor.

"Enough games!" Thor shouted, raising Mjolnir high. The sky itself seemed to answer.

Clint's eyes widened. "Tony, move!"

Thor hurled Mjolnir, but this time it didn't target Tony—it aimed straight for Loki.

Tony cursed, shifting his thrusters to full power, the air burning around him as he darted aside. The hammer whizzed past his shoulder, close enough for his suit sensors to blare a warning.

Loki smirked faintly. "Brother truly doesn't hold back, does he?"

"Yeah, well," Tony said, banking sharply through the storm. "Neither do we."

The hammer curved back toward Thor, crackling with electric rage. Clint shot downward, wings folding tight as he descended to assist Tony. The three collided in a triangle of lightning, metal, and shadow—each one determined not to give an inch.

Thor's roar echoed through the clouds as the lightning storm raged harder, forcing Tony and Clint to weave through the sky like streaks of light. But before Thor could close the gap again, the Quinjet appeared through the haze—its headlights cutting through the rain.

"Tony, we've got you on sensors!" Bruce's voice came through the comms. "Bring Loki aboard, now!"

"Copy that, Banner," Tony replied, his voice steady despite the chaos. "And tell Rogers to keep the doors open—I've got a wet god and a worse attitude."

He boosted forward, repulsors blazing, while Clint provided cover fire—dark arrows exploding near Thor to keep him at bay. The Quinjet's side ramp opened, the pilot steadying it as the storm battered the hull.

Tony shot through the opening, landing hard on the deck, water and static crackling off his armor. He dropped Loki onto the floor, still bound, and looked at Bruce. "Package delivered. Handle with care, he bites."

Bruce nodded, hitting a control panel to reinforce Loki's restraints with gamma seals. "Got it. We'll keep him quiet."

Tony turned toward the open hatch where Thor's silhouette glowed like a beacon in the storm. "Cap, he's all yours!"

Steve's voice came through the comm. "Understood. Get that jet to the Helicarrier—me and Clint will keep Thor busy."

"Fine, but if he turns you into a lightning rod, don't blame me," Tony said before the hatch sealed behind him. The Quinjet banked away, engines flaring as it climbed toward the upper atmosphere.

Outside, Steve stood on the forest edge, rain dripping off his armor. Aegis shimmered faintly across his body, the living armor shifting into battle mode. Beside him, Clint hovered slightly above the ground, wings flexing, his bow ready.

Thor landed before them in a crash of thunder, eyes burning with stormlight. "You dare take my brother from me?" he demanded, his voice carrying the wrath of Asgard.

Steve's shield expanded slightly, forming a circular barrier of light—Aegis' energy reinforcing it. "He's not yours to take, Thor. He's under S.H.I.E.L.D. custody. Stand down."

Thor's expression hardened. "You have no say in the matters of gods!"

Clint scoffed, twirling a shadow arrow between his fingers. "We've somoneone worse than gods now, so you better back off."

With a deafening boom, Thor charged. Steve met him head-on, his shield clashing with Mjolnir in a burst of light that shook the trees. Sparks and lightning scattered across the clearing.

Clint took to the air, firing a barrage of shadow-tipped arrows that struck around Thor, forcing him to turn his guard. Steve used the opening—his shield morphing into a glowing gauntlet as he unleashed a heavy punch powered by Aegis' kinetic surge.
