Chapter 8 - Psychic Attacks That Ignore Defense

The level 2 Skeleton Warrior had grown noticeably stronger, with all its attributes increasing by 100 points compared to level 1.

Its stats had leaped from 150 to 250.

Lin Moyu understood that this drastic increase wasn't just due to leveling up—his powerful innate talent played a key role. Normally, a level 2 skeleton would only receive an attribute boost of 25 points across the board, with each level adding a modest 10 points per attribute. The dramatic growth of his skeleton warriors was a direct result of his unique God-level talent.

This synergy between his necromancer profession and his extraordinary talent made him a force to be reckoned with.

Summoning more skeleton warriors, Lin Moyu soon had seven of them scattered throughout the novice dungeon, systematically hunting down monsters. From level 1 to level 3 creatures, none stood a chance. Under the might of their relentless attacks, they all fell instantly.

"With a strength attribute of 250, these skeleton warriors are already close to the power of a level 10 fighter," Lin Moyu mused.

And there were seven of them. No, this was only the beginning.

As Lin Moyu's mental energy recovered, he summoned more skeleton warriors. The battlefield was soon filled with the sounds of quick, brutal victories.

[Kill a level 2 gray cat, experience +20]

[Kill a level 3 brown dog, experience +30]

[Kill the Level 4 Blue-Eyed Mouse King, experience +40]

It was an endless stream of notifications. Each enemy fell in seconds, unable to withstand the onslaught. Against a level 10 equivalent attack power, the monsters, ranging from levels 3 to 4, didn't stand a chance.

Lin Moyu strolled casually, following his skeleton warriors as they ranged farther and farther. Before long, a mental map of the entire secret realm began forming in his mind, detailing every corner his skeletons had traversed.

"Interesting, I didn't expect them to have this mapping function," he thought with a slight smile. His skeleton warriors were not only combat machines but now served as living cartographers.

Within an hour, Lin Moyu was already on the verge of leveling up again.

Meditation was no longer necessary—at this speed, leveling up automatically restored his mental power faster than resting would.

Amid the chaos, Lin Moyu spotted a level 2 gray-haired cat that had somehow avoided the attention of his skeleton warriors.

"What a lucky little guy," he chuckled to himself, lifting his hand as a cold blue flame ignited in his palm.

Soul Flame.

In an instant, the flame leaped to the unsuspecting cat, enveloping it in ghostly azure light. It screeched once before collapsing, its life snuffed out as if the flame had attacked its very essence.

[Soul Flame is a spiritual attack that burns the target's soul. Physical defenses are meaningless against it.]

Lin Moyu observed the fallen creature. There were no visible signs of fire damage—the attack had been purely on the soul. It was then that he fully appreciated the terrifying power of his class.

"Hidden classes are truly something else," he thought, marveling at his Soul Flame's effectiveness. Even without his talent's bonus, the necromancer profession was already proving to be immensely powerful.

As he stood there, a radiant light surged from his body—he'd leveled up again. His stats rose, and his skill to summon skeleton warriors advanced to level 3. Each skeleton warrior now boasted even more impressive stats—350 points in strength, agility, spirit, and physique.

The summoning space had also expanded, allowing him to summon 10 skeleton warriors at once. These undead soldiers swarmed through the dungeon like a tidal wave, obliterating everything in their path.

[Kill the Level 4 Blue-Eyed Mouse King, experience +40]

[Kill level 5 blue wolf, experience +50]

Even level 5 monsters were no match. Lin Moyu didn't even need to lift a finger. His army of skeletons was doing all the work, effortlessly gathering experience.

"At this rate, I'll hit another level in just two hours," he noted. His leveling pace was extraordinary, while the others would be lucky to reach level 3 by the end of their first day in the dungeon. The academy's requirements were clear—students needed to reach level 8 within a week. But for Lin Moyu, that goal would be achieved in no time.

Outside the dungeon, a group of school principals gathered, exchanging banter over tea.

"I wonder how far these kids will get on their first day."

"What's the record again?" one principal asked.

"Level 5, set by Su Qianxing and Lin Mohan," another responded. "Both of them were in rare classes, and this year's Xia Xue is in one too, so she should be around the same level."

The principals casually compared notes, trying to predict the students' progress.

"From the first day's performance, you can usually tell how fast they'll level up the rest of the week."

"If Xia Xue doesn't hit level 5 by the end of the day, it'll be tough for her to get into Xia Jing Academy," one of them commented.

Lu Yun sat quietly, his thoughts on Lin Moyu. He was curious to see how far Lin would progress. His hidden profession certainly had potential.

As they chatted, the countdown in the dungeon continued. In just a few hours, they'd know who the top performer of the day would be.
