Chapter 7 - Let's Compare And See Who Can Upgrade Faster

Several assistants shook their heads. Most of the auxiliary nurses were girls, and when these young women saw Lin Moyu's skeleton warriors, they were terrified. Forming a team was out of the question.

Lin Moyu spoke calmly, "Mr. Lu, I also want to apply to Xiajing Academy."

His intent was clear—he didn't want to team up; he preferred to solo the dungeon.

Lu Yun raised an eyebrow, surprised. "Do you understand how difficult it is to get into Xiajing Academy?"

Lin Moyu nodded confidently, "I do, and I believe I can succeed."

Seeing Lin Moyu's determination, Lu Yun wished him well. "I hope you make it."

To gain admission to Xiajing Academy, one first needed to meet strict level requirements. At the very least, one had to be at level 12, but to be safe, level 15 was ideal. Last year, Lin Xiahan had been accepted as a level 16 student.

Reaching level 12 in just one week was no easy feat, let alone level 15. The novice dungeon had monsters capped at level 8, making it impossible to hit level 12 just by fighting there. Venturing into the wild, where the danger was far greater, was another option, but it was risky for novice professionals—they could easily lose their lives.

Apart from level requirements, other criteria for Xiajing Academy's admission process would be revealed at the final exam.

At Lu Yun's encouragement, many of the main battle professionals chose to form small teams, either pairs or trios. Gao Yang picked a prophet as his support—a wise choice, as the prophet could provide buffs and healing, making for an effective "nanny."

Once the administrative tasks were complete, the school distributed weapons and equipment based on each student's profession.

"I'm looking good!" Gao Yang boasted, showing off his iron sword and shield like he was the master of the world.

Lin Moyu, too, received his weapon: a basic staff.

[Staff]

Spiritual Power +1

It wasn't much of a bonus—a subpar weapon at best. It was so insignificant that it almost felt pointless, but at least it gave the appearance of being equipped.

Xia Xue, however, had her own gear and didn't need the school's handouts. Her weapon, a Dharma book, radiated with palpable energy. Lin Moyu could sense that it was of high quality.

Before entering the dungeon, Xia Xue turned to Lin Moyu with a competitive gleam in her eye. "Let's see who can level up faster."

Lin Moyu simply shrugged, neither agreeing nor refusing.

With a scoff, Xia Xue raised her chin, revealing the graceful curve of her neck. "Your silence means you've accepted the challenge."

Without waiting for a response, she spun around and strode confidently into the dungeon.

Lin Moyu allowed himself a slight smirk. "So competitive," he muttered to himself before following her inside.

The novice dungeon was a vast prairie, its thick grass stretching over half a meter high. Small monsters hid within, making them difficult to spot. The low density of enemies meant more time spent searching than actually fighting. This setup was intentional—the dungeon was designed to help beginners acclimate to combat without overwhelming them.

Lin Moyu summoned four skeleton warriors.

"Go hunt."

With a mental command, the skeletons scattered in four directions, their movements swift and eerie, kicking up gusts of wind as they ran.

"Their speed is incredible!" Lin Moyu observed, impressed by the agility attribute of 150. The skeletons had covered tens of meters in a blink.

Moments later, one of the skeletons swung its broken sword.

[Successfully killed Da Er Mian, experience +10]

The level 1 Da Er Mian was slain instantly. Lin Moyu checked his experience gain.

His progress had increased by 1%.

Each level 1 monster gave a 1% experience boost—killing 100 monsters would guarantee a level-up.

The messages rolled in continuously as the skeleton warriors efficiently hunted down more of the Da Er Mian creatures. In just a few minutes, Lin Moyu's experience had jumped by 10%.

The efficiency was astounding. Lin Moyu had initially planned to spend two days in the novice dungeon to reach level 8, but now it seemed it wouldn't take nearly that long.

He activated his skill again, summoning another black iron-level skeleton warrior. The new addition joined the hunt while Lin Moyu sat down to meditate.

Half an hour later, Lin Moyu leveled up.

[Name: Lin Moyu]

[Occupation: Necromancer (Unique)][Level: 2 (1.00%)][Strength: 20][Agility: 20][Spirit: 40][Equipment: None][Summon Space: 5/20, Skeleton Warrior (Quantity: 5)][Talent: Comprehensive Amplification (Level 1, Unique)][Passive Skill: Damage Transfer][Active Skills: Soul Flame (Level 2), Summon Skeleton Warrior (Level 2)]

[Comprehensive Amplification (Level 1): All skill effects are increased by 10 times.]

[Damage Transfer: All damage received by the necromancer is transferred to their summoned minions.]

[Soul Flame (Level 2): Burns the target's soul, dealing damage based on the user's spiritual power and skill level.]

[Summon Skeleton Warrior (Level 2): Summons a Black Iron Skeleton Warrior.]

With the level-up, all attributes increased. The summoning space had expanded to hold 20 summons, and his skills had also improved.

"I wonder if the level 2 skeleton warriors have better stats," Lin Moyu pondered. According to what he had learned, summoned creatures' attributes would improve as skill levels increased.

Thanks to the level-up, his mental power was fully restored. Lin Moyu summoned another black iron skeleton warrior, noting a few differences this time. The mental power cost had increased from 10 points to 15 points. The new skeleton warrior, though still black iron-level, looked significantly stronger—its body brighter, the dull gray of its bones lessened, and the cracks in its form reduced.

[Black Iron Skeleton Warrior]

[Agility: 250]

[Spirit: 250]

[Physique: 250]

The skeletons had clearly grown stronger.
