This proud and authoritative presence could belong to none other than Queen Medusa herself.
Suddenly, a heavy blanket of dark clouds gathered above Heavenly Snake City, accompanied by low, rolling thunder. The ominous sound reverberated within a hundred-mile radius.
All the city's inhabitants gazed skyward in terror.
Over the past six months, the Serpent Empire had endured repeated assaults. Though they had repelled each attack, the empire had paid a steep price.
Across the northwestern region, aside from the neighboring Jia Ma Empire, much of the region had fallen to the Profound Lion Sect. Even the Serpent Empire now clung only to Heavenly Snake City as its last bastion.
The people's hearts were filled with dread. Prolonged defense always carried the risk of eventual failure. The Profound Lion Sect's attacks only grew fiercer, and the situation was growing ever more dire.
Outside Heavenly Snake City, the oppressive black mist began to recede.
As it dispersed, an endless sea of figures was revealed, stretching to the horizon. The deafening roar of their war cries shook the earth.

Xiao Yixian gently shook her head. "No need for thanks. The northwestern region is my homeland, too. The Profound Lion Sect's actions have angered many. No one with a sense of justice would tolerate their behavior."
"Besides," she added with a faint smile, "you needn't worry too much. I believe Mo Yu will arrive soon."

Suddenly, the black mist in the distance resounded with deafening war drums. The battle was about to begin.

Having ruled the Serpent Empire for many years and serving as the tribe's leader, Cai Lin held no fear in the face of adversity. "The Snake-People have never feared death," she said coldly.
The Serpent Empire had never submitted, not even during the days of their weakness when they were besieged by several surrounding empires. Now, with the support of the Yun Lan Sect, they had grown stronger. There was no reason for them to yield now.
"Medusa, you should understand that your Serpent Empire is merely struggling in vain. Your strength is no match for ours. But if you marry me…" The golden-haired man's gaze burned as it swept over Cai Lin's alluring and fiery figure.
"Activate the formation!"
Before he could finish speaking, Cai Lin cast him a disdainful glance and coldly commanded.
"Yes!"
At her command, a chorus of low, steady replies echoed around her.
Suddenly, outside the fortress walls, the sky trembled slightly as a massive energy barrier slowly emerged, enveloping the entire fortress and standing as a wall between the two opposing armies.

"Kill!"
With the Profound Lion Sect leader's roar, the sea of troops outside the fortress erupted with a thunderous battle cry. The earth trembled violently as the massive army, endless as the tide, charged toward the fortress walls with killing intent surging skyward.
Feeling the murderous aura permeating the battlefield, the defenders atop Heavenly Snake City's walls tightened their grips on their weapons, their faces grave. Archers began firing long-range attacks.
"Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!"
Gigantic ballistae bolts shot out like a dark cloud, raining down upon the advancing Profound Lion Sect army. Miserable cries rang out as the battle quickly escalated to a brutality surpassing all expectations, with casualties mounting every moment.
"Attack! Destroy the energy barrier!"
After some time, the golden-haired man glanced at the army below, unable to break through the barrier's defenses even within a hundred meters of the fortress. His expression remained indifferent, as if the loss of so many soldiers didn't concern him.
These soldiers, who hadn't even reached the Dou Wang level, were merely cannon fodder. The true elites capable of toppling the Serpent Empire were the powerhouses in the sky.
At his signal, the two or three dozen Dou Zun experts formed a semicircle and advanced toward the fortress.
