It had been a few days since Aiden had made a pact with the inferno Wolfs, so far things were going good, even with a pissed off God, who he didn't know it was.
Aiden was on Fenrir back, as they moved with him, they then saw something, a giant gate.
Aiden jiggled around as he was confused. "Um Fenrir? What's that Gate?".
Fenrir and the other Inferno wolf stopped. They looked at Eachother unsure, as they looked back at the Gate, with Fenrir growling a bit.
Aiden then asked the Great Sage. "Great Sage, what's behind this Door?".
["Scanning: It seems holding the second God, the one that was sealed"]
Aiden imagined blinking as he spoke in his mind. "So, wait, this is the sealed one, not that one I pissed off."
["Affirmative"]
["The one you pissed off was the sleeping one, who woke up"]
Aiden tilted on Fenrir's back, his slime form wobbling like jelly. "So you're telling me… I pissed off one god, and now we're about to meet another? Fantastic. Just what I needed. Double divine aggro."
Fenrir's hackles rose, blue flame flickering faintly in his jaws. The other wolves lowered themselves instinctively, tails between their legs. Even for beasts of fire and lightning, the air here was wrong—heavy, oppressive, like a storm frozen in time.
Great Sage's voice chimed again.
["Correction: The sleeping god you angered is a difference one. This gate contains the sealed entity. Probability of danger upon release: 99.9%."]
Aiden's thoughts went flat. "…Yeah, that's reassuring."
The gate loomed before them—massive, covered in glowing runes that seemed to twist if he stared too long. Aiden could feel his slime core vibrating, like the seal was whispering directly to him.
Fenrir growled low, his violet flames sparking. "Master… This place reeks of death. We should not linger."
Aiden was about to agree when he noticed something: faint cracks spiderwebbing across the seal, leaking tendrils of black mist.
Aiden's nonexistent stomach dropped. "…Oh, great. It's leaking DLC content."
Fenrir spoke once again. "What, shall we do know master?"
Aiden sighed as he spoke. "Not like we can avoid it".
Aiden's slimy body jumped off, as he pushed the doors. Seeing this, the other wolves followed him and also one by one pushed the doors, as the movie chains can be heard, as the door opened.
The first thing that came out was a wave of energy, burst like dark smoke, after that was done they moved in and saw something that shocked them
Behind the giant Barrier was a Black Dragon, with its curved horns pointing up, as its eyes were red
As it was sealed Veldora Style, Aiden was shocked, and he just spoke in his mind. "This I just met the Veldora of this world!"
[Affirmative]
"I didn't want to be correct, Great Sage, Ahhh!" He screamed in his mind.
The Dragon looked down, its movement being more seraphine, like, as it looked at Aiden. "A Slime, how interesting, it's been so long since I had someone come here, other than the other one, so tell me little one what brings you in front of me the Great Nidhogg"
The ground trembled under the weight of the voice. Each syllable rolled like thunder, carrying both majesty and malice. The wolves whimpered, their flames flickering low, instincts screaming at them to bow. Fenrir, though bristling, lowered his head in respect.
Aiden's slimy body rippled, trying and failing to look calm. Great Sage, do you hear this?
["Affirmative. Entity identified: Nidhogg — the Corpse-Eater, the Root-Devourer. Danger level: Calamity+++."]
Aiden's mind went blank. "CALAMITY plus plus?! What's next, Super Turbo Deluxe Edition?!"
Nidhogg chuckled, a deep, rumbling sound that rattled the barrier and shook loose stones from the ceiling. The dragon's crimson eyes narrowed, focused entirely on Aiden. "Hoh… You are not like the others. You carry a strange weight in your soul. A shard of something… beyond this world."
Aiden gulped—not that slimes had throats. "Oh yeah, great, cosmic dragon analysis. Totally not nerve-wracking at all."
The dragon leaned closer, its enormous head pushing against the shimmering barrier. Cracks of light spidered across the magical seal as the sheer pressure of its presence leaked through. "Tell me, little slime… will you be the one to free me? Or will you be the next thing I devour when this cage finally breaks?"
Fenrir snarled, stepping in front of Aiden, violet lightning flickering around his mane. "Do not speak so lightly to my master."
Aiden froze. "Wait, wait, WAIT—Fenrir, buddy, let's not taunt the end-of-the-world dragon, okay?!"
Nidhogg's laughter echoed again, shaking the cavern like a collapsing temple. "Interesting. Very interesting. Perhaps fate has not forsaken me after all…"
Nidhogg's eyes glowed faintly, burning with an ancient light as his voice flowed like molten iron, steady and commanding. "Do not tremble, little slime. If I wished to destroy you, not even this barrier would stop me. No… I would rather speak."
The words were not loud, yet they pressed against Aiden like mountains, carrying the gravity of ages. The wolves all crouched low, ears pinned back, unable to meet his gaze. Fenrir growled, but even his violet flames flickered uncertainly.
Aiden tried to hold his composure, his mind running at a hundred miles an hour. Great Sage, please tell me this is one of those friendly dragons. Like, wise mentor type, not murder-and-blood type.
["Answer: Nidhogg has historically been categorized as an adversary to the gods and devourer of worlds. However… current attitude reads as neutral."]
"Neutral?! That's supposed to comfort me?!" Aiden hissed in his head.
Nidhogg tilted his massive head, regarding the slime with quiet amusement. "You carry fear well. Most creatures grovel or scream in my presence. But you… you try to joke." His lips curled into something resembling a smile. "That is a mark of courage. Or foolishness. Perhaps both."
Aiden wobbled his slime body nervously. "Uh, let's say… 70% courage, 30% foolishness?"
The dragon chuckled, the sound deep and strangely refined, like a monarch laughing at a court jester's antics. "A fair split. You interest me, little one. For centuries I have slumbered in this cage, sealed by gods who feared my hunger. And yet here you stand, dripping with magicules, carrying threads of fate not of this world." His crimson eyes narrowed, piercing into Aiden's very core.
"You are not simply a slime. You are a vessel."
Aiden froze. "Vessel? For what?"
Nidhogg gave a knowing smile but did not answer. Instead, he turned his gaze upward, as though staring through the ceiling, through the earth, into the sky itself. "In time, you shall learn. Whether you wish to or not."
The cavern fell silent, the weight of his words lingering like a storm cloud. Then, softer, almost gentle, he added:
"When that time comes… remember this name. Nidhogg. Call upon me, and the chains of this prison may yet shatter. Until then… grow strong, little slime. The world you walk is crueler than you imagine."
Aiden just looked at Nidhogg as he spoke. He had accepted it was gonna happen one day, why not now? "I am ready, let's do it now. So, what do you want me to do?"
Nidhogg looked at Aiden, who was amused, and he chuckled a bit. "Simple, absorbed me, and you will analyse the sealed from your side, and I will analyse it by my side, and I will be free, but don't worry, my age of Destruction has long passed, so I shall not destroy, but shall be by your side".
Aiden looked at him as he spoke. "Will that relief"
Nighogg looked at him as he spoke. "Do you have a name?"
Aiden looked at him as he spoke. "Aiden, that's my name, will the name I gave myself".
The Dragons looked at his lip curves. "Very well, I shall now give you a name, from this day on wards you shall be known as Aiden Odinson"
Aiden blinked, almost choking on air as he spoke in his head. "Wait—Odinson? Is he seriously giving me the Marvel treatment right now?"
Aiden did not decide to insult god. "Why Odinson?"
Nidhogg looked at him as he spoke. "That's my last name, now absorb me"
Aiden then felt Nidhogg's magic go into his body, just like Rimuru and Veldora, but different it was clear this was a bit different.
Aiden staggered a little as the torrent of energy surged into him. It was like drinking down a whole ocean in one gulp, except the ocean was ancient, smug, and humming to itself.
Aiden groaned. "Oh great… this is Rimuru-and-Veldora déjà vu all over again. Next thing I know, people are gonna think I'm running a daycare for overpowered dragons."
[Correction. This is not déjà vu. This is your problem.]
Aiden: "…Thanks, Siri 2.0."
Within the cave, Nidhogg's voice resonated, smoother than velvet but carrying the weight of eternity.
"Do not complain, Odinson. You carry the blood of chaos now, and with me bound within, your future shall ripple across fates themselves."
Aiden pinched the bridge of his nose. "Yeah, yeah, ripple of fate, destiny, Ragnarok vibes—bro, you literally just renamed me like a Marvel side character. Somewhere out there, Thor is probably suing me for copyright."
Nidhogg chuckled. "Thor? That arrogant lightning brat? He still owes me a horn of mead. If anything, he stole my branding."
Aiden blinked. "Wait… so Marvel was right? The Norse gods actually—"
"Wrong," Nidhogg interrupted, amused. "Marvel only got the hair colour right. Everything else is lies, theatre, and—" he paused, lips curling, "bad writing."
Truth's voice echoed faintly from the void, laughing his cosmic laugh.
"HA! I told you he was going to start with the meta jokes, didn't I?"
Aiden sighed. "So let me get this straight—I just became the host of a dragon older than the concept of Mondays, got slapped with the surname Odinson, and now I have to pretend this is normal?"
Nidhogg hummed. "Not pretend. Accept. You will soon find that being abnormal is the only way to survive what is coming."
Aiden's expression dropped. "…Great. More ominous foreshadowing. Just what I needed."
["Recommendation: stop talking before he names you Aiden Loki-son as well".]
"DON'T EVEN JOKE ABOUT THAT!" Aiden shouted aloud, clutching his head as Nidhogg's laughter rumbled inside him like an earthquake.
Burning bright as Predator is activated. His shadow warped like an endless void, pulling at the massive draconic form before him.
"Let's start," Aiden muttered, voice steady but eyes gleaming.
Nidhogg chuckled low, his colossal body beginning to dissolve into streams of radiant-black particles. "Very well… this is where our journey starts."
The world around them seemed to rumble, like creation itself holding its breath. As the first fragments of Nidhogg's essence flowed into him, Aiden staggered. His veins lit up with power so ancient it made the concept of "time" feel like a toddler's toy.
["Warning: Host may experience symptoms such as dizziness, nausea, existential dread, or the sudden urge to yell I am inevitable."]
Aiden gritted his teeth. "Gee, thanks for the medical brochure!"
Inside his mindscape, Nidhogg opened one eye, amused. "Do not resist. Predator will consume my shell, but my soul… my will… will rest inside you. Together we will analyse, break the seal, and ascend beyond it."
Aiden's lips twitched. "…So, basically I get an overpowered cheat partner DLC. Got it."
Nidhogg smirked. "If that metaphor helps your fragile human brain, then yes."
The last of his massive body dissolved, leaving only a swirl of draconic runes etching themselves across Aiden's skin before fading. The air went still.
Aiden exhaled hard, falling back to sit on the ground. "Well… that happened. So… what now?"
Nidhogg's voice resonated deep within him.
"Now, Odinson, you carry me. And with me, you will face gods, demons, and kings alike. You will stand at the edge of Ragnarok… and laugh."
["Foreshadowing detected".]
Aiden: "…Did you seriously just say 'Ragnarok' like this is a Marvel crossover event?"
Nidhogg: chuckling "No. Unlike them… mine won't flop."
Aiden groaned. "Great. First a wolf, now a dragon, and next thing you know, Truth is going to drop a giant snake on me just for the meme."
From the white void, Truth's distant voice echoed in laughter:
"Oh, you bet your mortal backside I am."
Fenrir padded forward, his massive frame lowering instinctively as the other Inferno Wolves followed close behind, their fiery manes dimmed with worry. For once, the proud beast hesitated before speaking, his voice carrying a rare softness.
"Master… are you okay?"
Aiden, still catching his breath, let his slime form stabilise. With effort, he formed a hand—wobbly at first, then firm—as he raised it in reassurance. His tone came out lighter than he felt.
"Yeah," he said with a crooked grin in his voice, "it's still me, Fenrir."
Fenrir exhaled, a plume of embers escaping his maw as relief washed through him. The other wolves lowered their heads respectfully, tails swishing in unison.
Inside Aiden's mind, Nidhogg's laughter rumbled like distant thunder.
"Heh. Even after absorbing me, you're worried about appearances. Good. A leader who reassures his pack… fitting of one named Odinson."
Aiden mentally groaned. I'm never living that name down, am I?
["Correct. Name permanence is now 100%".]
Aiden: "…You're both against me, aren't you?"
Fenrir tilted his head, ears twitching. "Master?"
"Nothing, buddy." Aiden waved his slimy hand dismissively, though his mind was already spinning. Between a pack of Inferno Wolves, a sealed-turned-roommate dragon, and a pissed-off god gunning for him… things were only getting more complicated.
And somehow, he knew… this was just the beginning.
Epilogue
Back in the white void, Truth clapped his hands, grinning ear to ear.
"Bravo, bravo! What a great story so far, hahahaha! The slime gets himself a wolf pack, picks up a dragon roommate, and now he's got a last name that makes Marvel lawyers twitch. Delicious!"
Rebirth Dragon sat nearby, wings curled like a throne, his eyes narrowed. "You laugh too easily, Truth. Do you not realize what's happening? Nidhogg has chosen him. That alone shifts the balance of fate."
Truth smirked and wagged a finger. "Oh, relax, drama-dragon. You say 'fate shifts,' I say 'ratings boost.'"
Rebirth Dragon exhaled a plume of silver fire. "Your obsession with entertainment will doom you one day."
Truth leaned back, hands behind his head. "Maybe. But until then, I'm enjoying the ride. And between you and me…" He tapped his chin with a sly grin. "…I still bet he's going to pick up a giant snake and name it Jörmungandr. It's too perfect a setup."
The Dragon gave him a side glance. "And when he does?"
Truth's grin widened. "Then I'm cashing in my divine bucks, obviously."
