Once the Wisdom Lotus floated to the lake's surface and fully bloomed, a massive energy vortex—over ten meters in diameter—gradually formed in the sky above the water.
The center of this funnel-shaped vortex was none other than the now-gloriously blooming Wisdom Lotus.
At that moment, the lotus was greedily absorbing the pure energy dripping from the swirling vortex. Bit by bit, the white petals began to take on a soft pink hue, and a radiant pink glow shimmered around the flower.
Simultaneously, a wave of psychic energy began to emanate from the lotus, gradually growing stronger with each passing moment.
This process continued for about ten minutes. As the vortex overhead slowly dissipated, the lotus had fully transformed from pure white to vibrant pink.
Then, just like a fleeting bloom of a night flower, the pink lotus only maintained its peak for around ten seconds before it began to wither rapidly.
Within moments, the beautiful pink lotus vanished completely, leaving behind a bare lotus pod floating on the surface of the lake.
At that moment, the pod was densely packed with lotus seeds that emitted a soft pink glow. From these unusual seeds, waves of pure psychic energy began to radiate outward.
The moment the surrounding Psychic-type Pokémon saw the lotus seeds, their eyes lit up with blazing desire.
If not for the presence of Slowking and Alakazam hovering above the pod—both motionless yet exuding tremendous pressure—some of the more impatient Pokémon would have already made their move.
"So those are the Wisdom Lotus Seeds… What a treasure."
Sato, perched high atop a large tree about ten meters from the lake's edge, was observing everything through a pair of binoculars.
When he saw the glowing lotus pod in the lake, a similar heat lit up his eyes as he muttered to himself.
Unlike Natu, who had only heard about the Wisdom Seeds from its parents, Sato—with his system's appraisal function—was fully aware of just how powerful the Wisdom Seeds really were. Their effects far surpassed what Natu had previously described.

There was no doubt: for someone like Sato—whose psychic aptitude was extremely low—the Wisdom Seeds were of tremendous value.
With enough of them, Sato could rapidly boost his psychic power, no longer having to live like some useless Psychic-type who couldn't even use the most basic psychic skills.
More than two weeks ago, Sato had become a Psychic after using an awakening serum. At the time, his mental strength stat was 10. And now, over two weeks later, it was still 10.
To say this was discouraging would be an understatement.
Sato didn't harbor any grand ambitions to become someone like Sabrina—just being able to use Telepathy to communicate with Pokémon was his biggest hope.
With Telepathy, he could give silent commands, significantly enhancing his ability to lead in battles—and in turn, greatly boosting his team's combat efficiency.
But Telepathy required a minimum of 50 mental strength points. For most psychics, that wasn't a hard milestone, but for Sato, it might as well have been a mountain crushing down on him.
Given his poor innate aptitude, he'd need five to six years of intense meditation training just to reach that goal—unless something miraculous happened.
And now, the Wisdom Seeds offered him that miracle. Though their effectiveness diminished with repeated use, if he could consume seven or eight of them, he might just reach that 50-point threshold.
Sato had quickly counted—there were at least 50 seeds in that massive lotus pod. Although nearly a hundred Psychic-type Pokémon were watching the pod closely, he was confident that with his current strength, he could still seize a share of the prize.
A minute or two passed. Some of the Wisdom Seeds within the pod appeared to ripen.
Just like overripe fruit falling from a tree, the matured seeds popped out on their own.
However, the Wisdom Lotus didn't intend to let its offspring be eaten so easily. With an instinctive desire to spread its kind, it launched the ripened seeds like bullets from a gun.
The first volley consisted of eight Wisdom Seeds. Without any warning, they shot out from the pod in all directions like cannon fire.
But the Psychic-type Pokémon around the lake had been watching the pod closely. The moment the first volley fired, some of the quicker Pokémon reacted instantly.
The fastest to act were Slowking and Alakazam, floating directly above the pod. As soon as the seeds moved, both unleashed powerful psychic waves. With a flash of movement, each used Psychic to bind and capture one seed midair.
The remaining six seeds continued to shoot off in different directions, and in the blink of an eye, they were already over a hundred meters away.
But there were simply too many Psychic-type Pokémon surrounding the area.
Pokémon like Kadabra, Ralts, and Kirlia—all proficient in Teleport—reacted swiftly, instantly jumping into the flight paths of some seeds and using Psychic to restrain them.
In the end, not a single seed from the first batch escaped. Each one was captured by a capable Psychic-type Pokémon.
The failure of the first batch seemed to greatly frustrate the Wisdom Lotus.
Within a few seconds, a second volley burst out—this time with 23 Wisdom Seeds.
Like petals scattering in the wind, the 23 glowing pink seeds shot out in all directions.
In that instant, chaos erupted among the Psychic-type Pokémon around the lake. Many of them collided midair in a scramble for the seeds.
Boom!—a loud crash rang out.
Two Grumpig, flying at high speed, collided while chasing the same seed. Tumbling through the air, they hit the ground hard and could only stare helplessly as the seed sailed away.
Just as they thought the seed had escaped and would vanish into the distance…
A ripple of spatial distortion suddenly appeared ahead of the flying Wisdom Seed.
Then—fwip!—a Natu, with a star-shaped mark on its beak, appeared out of nowhere. With perfect timing, it reached out one small claw and snatched the seed out of the air.
