Michael walked at the front of the group as the twins led the way, with the beast following behind. They travelled for miles, the Wasteland's vastness making their journey feel endless. Even the crater they had left behind stretched forty kilometres across. Along the way, they conversed almost like friends, as though none of them had any intention of killing one another.
Eventually, they arrived at a dense forest. It was the very place where a boy named Zion had met his end, his body reborn into the vessel of a devil. Unaware of the horrors that awaited them, Michael, Vincent, and the beast continued forward, following the twins into the thick vegetation.
The twins, however, knew exactly where they were going. Beebah controlled the dense weeds they were about to enter, and the message they had sent had already reached the creature. Somehow, they appeared to share a mental link with it.
As the group ventured deeper into the forest, the light around them gradually faded until darkness swallowed their surroundings. The students of Emox had no idea they were walking into something far more dangerous than anything they had faced during their time at the academy. To them, it was just another class, another mission to survive. But Vincent, the beast, and Michael were oblivious to the fact that they were walking straight into the devil's hands.
Until...
SLAP!
A sharp pain erupted behind Michael's eyes. His eyelids twitched violently, and an unsettling sensation spread through his head, reminding him of what he had experienced when using FULL RELEASE.
His eyes.
Something was wrong with them.
Without hesitation, Michael tore off a piece of cloth and wrapped it around his eyes, concealing them from the others.
"Let's keep moving. It's just something to do with my abilities."
He continued walking, attempting to ignore the discomfort. But questions began racing through his mind.
Are my abilities going haywire? But why now? Could this be a sensory ability? Then what exactly am I? And what do these eyes do?
Wait...
Oh.
