Chapter 15 - [15] Some Things Are Better Shown Than Said

A/N: I made a pretty long chapter today, I hope you enjoy it!

WC: 3250

-3rd POV-

Esdeath's breath synced with the ragged breathing of her fellow siblings.

All their bodies buzzed with pain as several semi-deep cuts that were spread through their body bled their blood to the floor.

"Is everyone alright?!" Esdeath shouted, using the rapier she had at hand to hold herself up

""Yeah, we're alive!"" Everyone shouted at the same time, confirming that they had also survived the barrage of slashes.

"Good job, kids" Meliodas praise his kids.

If they all hadn't used "magic" to defend themselves, they probably would have lost a limb or two.

Of course he was holding back, just enough to not kill them. But losing a limb was ok by his standard since he could just reattach it back on them.

"What the fuck are you doing, dad?!" Asuna shouted at her father in annoyance. She pumped spiritual energy through her wounds, healing her wounds in a fast pace.

In the world of Genshin Impact, there were three basics when it came to its power system. At least when it came to THIS Genshin Impact AU.

First is the soul, which is what gives off spiritual energy. Everything, even inanimate, has a soul.

Then it's magic and Ki.

Magic stems from the connection between the mind and soul, creating miracles through imagination, the soul being what fuels these "miracles"

Then, Ki stems from the connection between soul and the physical form, otherwise and more commonly known as the body. The more your physical body is healthy and trained, the more Ki you are able to use.

Ki allows one to gain incredible raw strength and even be able to survive incredibly fatal injuries.

One can also use Ki for appliances besides body enhancement.

There is also Elemental energy which is related to the physical body. It is created when there is a concentration of large and pure natural element like fire, wind, rock, nature, etc. Elemental energy is also the only power system used by normal people via Visions given to them by Celestia.

Lucky for the Pendragon children, they are trained in all three.

"Training" Meliodas replied curtly. In a single step, he disappeared and reappeared in the middle of them all.

"Shit, now!" Reinhart shouted I'm desperation.

He didn't want the small window they had to disappear. Taking advantage of the fact that he was surrounded by all six of them. The Pendragon children all thrusted their weapons at Meliodas, their weapons enhanced by either Mana or Ki.

As all their weapons closed in on his body, all Meliodas could do was smile.

He jumped at the last second, jumping over their weapons.

*Bang!*

Taking advantage of their closeness, Meliodas kicked to his sides, sending both Asuna and Reinhart flying.

As both his feet landed on the floor, he was attacked by a other barrage of attacks coming from his children.

He dodged and parried their attacks with my no effort at all.

It was a completely unfair fight, exactly how he wanted it to be.

-Reinhart POV-

Fuck!

Father is strong, no, he's too strong!

I've never seen him like this, so, so...dangerous.

Completely filled with the intent to kill.

I wiped the blood running down my lip and got myself off the floor from which I was kicked at by my father earlier.

Shit, how are we supposed to beat him?

Even now he's easily dodging out attacks, slowly chipping away our strength and stamina as the fight went on.

How can we beat him? a being so unreachable to us-

*Plop*

A sudden thud sound manifested below my feet. I looked down, my eyes revealing to me that the item that had created that sound was a... card?

I don't know what made me kneel down to pick up this card, especially when I'm in the middle of battle, but the impulse to pick it up was...unstoppable.

As I picked up the card, I inspected it. It showed the image of a radiant golden spear, the border of the card being beautifully adorned with golden flowers and skulls.

And at the top of the card, it read "True Longinus"

A flash of light manifested from the card out of nowhere, its flat surface changing and morphing until it finally shaped out into a spear.

The spear was an ornate spear with a dark blue rod and is more extensive than regular spears. It features golden metal decorations, in the shapes of arrow tips, that spiral around in a double helix pattern. The decorations finish at the top of the rod of the spear which features a white circle, which is completely empty, and has a cross that fills in the circle, but not completely. There is a small silver stump which features four protrusions, two on the left and the other two on the right. The tip of the spear is silver, and similar to the rod of the spear is longer than other types of spears.

"Ahhh!!!" A quick and sudden shout came from where the battle between father and my siblings was going on.

*PANG!*

Before I could react, the rest of my siblings were thrown at me, creating a pile of us.

-3rd POV-

Meliodas's darkness mark began to disappear as he looked at his children with a wry smile.

They were all toppled upon each other like a pile of groaning zombies.

"At this point they won't make it to 4/10..." Meliodas grumbled under his breath.

So far, he's been kicking their asses to push them to the limit. He even used his [Wrath] to send a wave of malicious pressure on them along with natural spiritual pressure.

"Let's hope they figure out the cards" he prayed.

Mid-fight, he slipped in the "send off" gifts the system had placed in his system to give them.

Which, for each of his children, was one skill and one item that matches them.

And if he was being honest, he felt the greed of taking the items for himself. But those were for his kids, it was wrong to take what should be theirs.

"Hm?" Meliodas's senses suddenly picked up a familiar signal of spiritual energy from far in the distance.

His head turned and watched a lonely cliff in the distance, the spiritual pressure he had felt earlier was completely gone.

Meliodas's eyes furrowed "wonder who that was..." He spoke. Meliodas could tell the spiritual pressure was from someone he knew but he couldn't pinpoint who it was exactly because of how far the person was and how quickly the signal disappeared.

*Whoosh!*

A soft gust of wind blew behind Meliodas's neck.

'Shit!' he panicked internally as he leaned his head back a little, dodging the spear that was aimed at his skull by a few inches.

"Geez, Reinhart. You almost took of my head!" Meliodas said with a nervous drop of sweat flowing down his forehead.

"What was that you said? 'Always take the enemy by surprise', was it?" Reinhart retorted with a wild grin as he swung his spear backwards towards Meliodas's head to smack him.

Usually, spear techniques consist of thrusts and long-winded swings, not close/little wind-up swings. The reason being that spear swings with little momentum will not do enough damage as one would wish, thus making the attack completely useless in a real-life battle.

And every swing you take counts.

But if that's the case, why did Reinhart perform one just now?

It is because of the weapon he now has in possession: The Spear of Destiny, AKA [True Longinus].

The [True Longinus], one of the original 13 Longinus's made by God in the DXD verse.

It is a holy spear that has many abilities, including the power of immense holy energy, in fact it has so much holy energy that by just looking at the spears holy light one can be caused to experience intense pain. The spear can also extend as far as the user wants, break seals, and also save the users from fatal attacks.

The power of the spear alone has given Reinhart a massive buff to his strength, making winding up his swings needless.

As Reinhart swung back his spear, Meliodas fully flipped backwards, creating distance between them and dodging the spears swing all together.

As he landed on his feet, the sound of a click manifested behind him "Shit!" he said once again as dodged his head to the side as he felt danger being pointed as his head (Yes, again. Why the hell are they aiming for his head so much?).

*BANG!*

Meliodas kicked back, sending Violet flying back.

Lucky for her, she managed to get her feet on the ground before she could roll on the ground like a ragdoll, the arquebuses at hand aimed at Meliodas once again.

*BANG!*"

*BANG!*

*BANG!*

Meliodas swiftly cut the bullets with [Lost Vayne] before they could pierce his flesh. "WHY are you aiming for the head?!" Meliodas shouted as he heightened his senses, not wanting to get sneak attacked by one of his kids again.

"Just like how Reinhart said, take your enemies by surprise" She replied as the arquebuses on her hand disappeared.

Crimson blood ripples manifested in the empty air behind Violet, hundreds of arquebuses similar to the one she had at hand earlier came out of those bloody red ripples and aimed at Meliodas. She could summon thousands of them, but she doesn't have enough magical energy to be able to do that, not yet at least.

"Ah, fuck..." Meliodas muttered with a wry smile, the slight regret of giving his children these overpowered items ran through his thoughts.

[Three Line Formation: Three Thousand Worlds] was the name if the ability given to Violet.

This ability, otherwise known as a Noble Phantasm, is one of the abilities of the servant Oda Nobunaga from the series, Fate.

This ability is the lore-ification of the "three lines of fire" strategy she is said to have employed at the Battle of Nagashino, which she had created in hopes of it helping her achieve her dream of the unification of the country of Japan.

The ability itself allows the user to summon thousands of arquebuses (Muskets basically), each of them capable of being remotely controlled. But that's not what makes them dangerous, what IS so dangerous about them is that they can kill Gods.

The arquebuses are most effective against beings with 'Divinity','Mystery', and 'Riding Skill'.

Basically, these guns are effective against people who can use magic that defies the laws of the world without explanation, Gods, and people who are riding a vehicle or an animal.

So, in simple words, this Noble Phantasm is really effective against Meliodas.

Meliodas fulfils the "Mystery" and "Divinity" requirements in different ways. Both being fulfilled by his [Yhwach] character template and [Mythos] skill.

With a flick of Violets wrist, the rows of arquebuses fired. Meliodas's brown furrowed as he knew he needed take the bullet from the arquebuses seriously and try not the get hit.

He doesn't know what would happen if he got shot by one of them, and Meliodas doesn't want to find out. At all.

[Quarter-Prime]

Behind Meliodas, a set of dark armor manifested behind him. It was his Odin semi-prime form, which manifest in the form of a dark armor. Because of this special feature, Meliodas has found a way to independently manifest the armor, allowing him to bring in a second set of hands into a fight.

With [Zantetsuken] being wielded by Odin Quarter-Prime and [Lost Vayne] in Meliodas's hand, they got into position.

As the lightning-fast volley of bullets finally reached him, both Odin Quarter-Prime and Meliodas swung their blades.

*CLANG*

*CLANG*

*CLANG*

With incredible precision they began to deflect the god killing projectiles until there were none left. With a sigh of relief, Melioda-

*SWOOSH*

*CLANG*

Odin Quarter-Prime immediately turned around and blocked the weapon aimed at Meliodas as soon as it came within its range. The mysterious attacker attempted to put pressure down on [Zantetsuken] with her own sword, attempting to break through his defense.

Meliodas shifted his left eye to the side to see which one of his kids it was this time, his other eye keeping an eye on Violet. So far, she's been the one that has posed the greatest threat to Meliodas, so far that is.

"Asuna?" Meliodas muttered under his breath in surprise. It wasn't the sudden power surge or the speed she was now able to move at, what shocked him was the pair of pure-white angel wings she fashioned on her back.

[Stacia]

The ability the system had placed in Meliodas's storage to bestow before Asuna was the character template, [Stacia].

Stacia is one of the three main goddesses of the underworld in the SAO series. There is Solus the Goddess of the Sun, Terraria the Goddess of the Land, and Stacia the Goddess of Creation.

In the anime, Asuna had used a special account which was the [Stacia] account to be able to enter the underworld.

And although the powers of Stacia were never really shown since [Stacia] never really existed, the title "Goddess of Creation" should give one enough context to how powerful [Stacia] truly is.

So basically, Meliodas gave Asuna a character template that just MIGHT be as strong as his [Yhwach] character template. And that's saying something because that crazy basted can quite literally see and manipulate the future to his liking.

Asuna flapped her wings, giving her a quick burst of speed. With this quick sidestep that allowed her to be within Odin Quarter-prime's blind spot, Asuna thrusted her rapier towards Meliodas.

Meliodas managed to grab her sword before it turned his head into a kebab. She might be stronger now, but not strong enough. By his guess, the progress she stated with must have been around 0.02%.

"They're pretty" Meliodas complimented his daughter genuinely despite Asuna's constant attempt to kill him.

"Thanks dad" She replied as she grunted, trying to constantly push the sword towards Meliodas's head. He grabbed the sword inches before it hit him, so Asuna opted for pushing as hard as she could to close in the distance she was missing instead of pulling back.

In battle this would be a terrible decision since your weapon being in the enemy's hand is basically a death sentence. But she was his daughter, Asuna knew that her father wouldn't actually kill them. Maybe cut off a limb or two but that's it.

Thats the reason why Asuna could afford to do this move. But things weren't going to her expectations. Despite the new and mysterious power up she had received; Asuna wasn't able to thrust her rapier further toward Meliodas or even pull it back.

And she wasn't going to let go of it neither, one thing she learned from her father was that a swordmen never let's go of his sword, the moment you let go is the moment you lose.

"Sorry Sweetie" Meliodas apologized before he swung his arm, sending Asuna flying into the air along with her sword.

*RUMBLE RUMBLE RUMBLE!!!*

The ground beneath Meliodas suddenly gave out. The solid dirt beneath his feet morphing into a sluggish sand, causing a sinkhole that trapped Meliodas.

"Now!" Mitsuri shouted as she unlodged her hoe from the ground.

At her signal, both Sinbad and Esdeath ran up to the giant hole in which Meliodas buried and both raised their weapons.

""AHHH!"" Both of them shouted as ice and lightning manifested above them, striking down Meliodas with all they had. A thunderous explosion blinded their eyes, kicking up a huge dust cloud.

"Cough! did you get him!?" Mitsuri shouted as she coughed and swatted her hand in attempt to blow away the dust from her face.

"I don't think so, hopefully we scratched him in the least~" Sinbad replied with optimism.

"I hate it, but he's right. I don't think this was enough" Esdeath clicked her togue in frustration. What she hated most of all was weakness, and this fight has made her realize how powerless and weak she truly was despite all the rigorous training she does. The world was wide, so there must be other like her father, right?

If so, Esdeath had no chance against them, and she knew that fact very well.

The three-sibling walked up to the gigantic hole, shards of ice and glass created from the lightnings intense heat and Esdeaths giant ice spear were scrambled across the dirt and sand.

[All-Purpose Farming Tool]

This was the item that Meliodas had given Mitsuri. The item is able to transform into any item that related farming.

Of course, that isn't all it can do. The tools power and efficiency are incredibly heightened because, to everyone's surprise, was made by a god.

Thats how Mitsuri was able to soften the ground beneath Meliodas by merely striking the ground a single time with the [All-Purpose Farming Tool] hoe form.

[Demon God Manifestation: Demon's Extract]

This special skill is the one that Meliodas gave to Esdeath.

This [Demon Extract] is a Teigu from Akame Ga Kill.

Its physical form was a chalice full of blood, and once the blood was consumed, a tattoo appeared on the user's body. Once the blood was consumed, it also gave the drinker the ability to conjure and create ice out of nothingness instead of simply freezing and manipulating the water in the atmosphere.

[Djinn of Wrath and Heroes: Baal], this is the item given to Sinbad by Meliodas

The Djinn's appearance is similar to that of a dragon, with bat-like wings, scaly skin, and horns. He has dark, shaggy hair and a third eye in his forehead. He wears two necklaces and a belt.

But that's not the form he's usually in; his "Metal Vessel" takes form of a silver long sword with a green decorative hilt.

This special Djinn gives the user the ability to manipulate lightning and can also give the user magical and physical buffs once "Djinn Equip" is activated, combining the wielder and the Djinn as one.

'Be careful boy, I can sense large amounts of foreign magical energy building up under that hole!' Baal warned Sinbad.

But it was too late, perhaps if the other had sensed it faster they might have been able to back off, but they didn't.

like an expounding geyser, a wave of water shot up from the hole, washing away the 6 kids away.

"Cough! Cough! Cough! shit!" Reinhart coughed out water from his lungs, his clothes and hair.

"ROAARRRRRR!!!" A deafening roar came out of the hole in the ground. A massive and long figure floated out of the hole in the ground, defying gravity despite its size.

"Ohhhh fuck..." Reinhart muttered under his breath as he stared at the magnificent yet horrifying figure floating in the air. Its eye looking straight at him.

The Leviathan was a massive, serpentine creature with blue scales and red accents on his body, most notably on his head and tail. He has large, dragon-like wings that allow him to fly, with multiple fins on his body and long, flowing tendrils on his head. His head has a long, narrow snout, and his mouth is filled with multiple razor-sharp teeth.

[Priming: Leviathan]

Yes, this was Meliodas!

This was a sub-skill of the main skill [Mythos].

The skill is composed of 9 total Eikons with each having unique elemental skills and powers. The user being able to gain a new Eikon each time they master 100% of the most recent Eikon they've obtained.

And, during these past six years, Meliodas has managed to master and obtain a total of 3 Eikons. Warden of Darkness: Odin, Warden of Light: Bahamut, and Warden of Water: Leviathan.

With all the strength left in his body, Reinhart raised his spear and got into stance.

It was time for the boss fight's second phase!
