Chris wasn't the only one initiating surprise attacks.

Alexis had also released his "assassin" when the smoke appeared.

The pseudo-legendary Dragapult, a Dragon and Ghost-type Pokemon, used Phantom Force to enter the spirit world and attack Chris in a manner similar to teleportation.

So Mega Gardevoir didn't pursue Kommo-o but instead teleported back to Chris's side and set up Reflect to block Dragapult's assault.

"Dragonite, Dragon Rush!" Alexis glanced at Garchomp dismissively, then threw a Poke Ball without paying it much attention.

Dragonite appeared in the air, its entire body cloaked in dark green draconic energy as it transformed into a giant dragon and swooped toward Chris from above.

Chris immediately threw his own Poke Ball in response.

"Gyarados, Mega Evolution! Liquidation!"

Here came the red Gyarados! It soared into the sky, surrounded by colorful light.

The multicolored light exploded, and the red Gyarados's body became larger and more ferocious, with a swollen neck and a massive fin appearing on its back. Its typing changed from Water and Flying to Water and Dark, though it could still fly.

The gym leaders and senior Pokemon League officials in the audience were already stunned into silence.

"How many Mega Pokemon does Chris actually have?" one gym leader couldn't help but ask.

Everyone looked at each other in bewilderment—the answer to this question was probably known only to Chris himself.

They had thought Chris only possessed two Mega Pokemon.

Then a few days ago, there had been Mega Blaziken.

Well, three Mega Evolution stones weren't entirely unacceptable... right?

But then Greninja had somehow achieved what appeared to be Mega Evolution, which should have been impossible.

Now there was Mega Gyarados as well.

Counting them up, these were five Pokemon capable of what seemed like Mega Evolution. Just one short of a complete team of Mega Pokemon.

So... was Chris actually trying to assemble an entire team of Mega Pokemon?

"I wouldn't be surprised if Chris pulled out another Mega Evolution stone in a few minutes!" one gym leader complained helplessly, his voice full of envy.

In mid-air, Dragonite and Mega Gyarados clashed together.

An explosion was inevitable.

However, both Alexis and Chris immediately averted their attention elsewhere.

Whether it was Dragonite or Mega Gyarados, defeating their opponent wouldn't be accomplished quickly.

Dragonite had speed, while Mega Gyarados had raw power!

Back on the main battlefield.

Alexis surveyed the battle situation, considered the circumstances for a moment, then threw his final Poke Ball.

It was a Glalie.

"Mega Evolution!" Alexis revealed his Z-Power bracelet.

Although he specialized in Dragon-type Pokemon, his trump card signature Pokemon was still the Ice-type Glalie.

Mega Glalie looked just like a regular Glalie with its mouth open, but with an "elderly" appearance—the additional black stone formations beneath its mouth resembled a beard!

"Hail!" Alexis commanded with an outstretched hand.

"Roaaaaar!" Mega Glalie bellowed, and the sky immediately became covered with dark clouds as heavy snowfall began!

In battle, hail weather would boost the power of Ice-type Pokemon's moves significantly.

In reality, snowy weather would definitely cause additional damage, and prolonged exposure would result in frostbite.

Pokemon with type disadvantages were more susceptible to frostbite, such as Dragon-types.

However, Alexis had two Dragon Pokemon on the field, yet still activated the hail, relying on his usual cold resistance training with his Dragon Pokemon.

Thinking about this strategy, Chris found it admirable. Forcibly adapting your Pokemon to cover their weaknesses to create team synergy.

However, this snowy weather was detrimental to his lineup without providing any benefits!

So Chris silently retrieved a Poke Ball.

"Tyranitar, Mega Evolution!"

"BANGIIII!" The massive Tyranitar roared as it took the stage, its Sand Stream ability immediately activating!

The dark clouds in the sky were instantly dispersed by the swirling sand, gray sandstorms surged upward, and the weather changed from hail to Sandstorm!

Multicolored light spiraled around the Pokemon, and when it faded, a Mega Tyranitar with a menacing face on its chest and spikes covering its body stood before everyone.

The gym leaders and League executives in the audience weren't shocked this time.

Because they were already completely numb.

"See, I told you Chris could assemble a team of all Mega Evolutions!" one prophetic voice called out dramatically, tears streaming from the corners of his eyes.

An entire team of Mega Pokemon?!

Please, have some mercy!

"But wait, Chris is maintaining Mega Evolution for four Pokemon simultaneously—can he actually handle that?" one gym leader noticed a crucial detail.

As everyone knew, maintaining Mega Evolution for one Pokemon wasn't particularly difficult.

Two was manageable, though only stronger trainers could accomplish it.

With three Pokemon, most trainers would be unable to cope. Currently, no one had publicly maintained Mega Evolution for three Pokemon simultaneously, mainly because few people possessed three Mega Evolution stones.

As for four...

Everyone looked at Chris with curiosity in their eyes.

Chris didn't appear to be particularly muscular, yet he possessed such incredible stamina.

Judging by his composed appearance, he didn't seem strained at all.

Chris felt no difficulty maintaining Mega Evolution for four Pokemon because, with the three orbs within his body, his physical strength and energy seemed limitless. Not only could he handle four, but four more would be equally manageable!

After thinking it over, since he already had four active, he might as well go for five.

Chris raised his hand once more.

"Garchomp, Mega Evolution!"

Garchomp, who had been defending against Espeon's relentless attacks, was immediately enveloped in colorful light.

In the next moment, Mega Garchomp appeared!

The audience took this development in stride, casually pulling out their cameras to record this almost impossible-to-witness spectacle while chatting among themselves.

As his opponent, when Alexis witnessed this scene, his eye twitched involuntarily.

I have some choice words I don't know if I should say or not!

Junior Chris! No—Junior Lucky God! Just how many Mega Pokemon do you have?

I still underestimated this junior. Forget about next year—at this rate, I'll probably be defeated by him this very year!

With this thought, Alexis couldn't help but grit his teeth. He immediately pulled out a special Z-Crystal from his pocket and slapped it onto his Z-Power bracelet.

"Kommo-o, Z-Move: Clangorous Soulblaze!"
