Mega Gengar struggled desperately, using its six spectral arms to fend off the relentless assault of spirit world appendages surrounding it. However, this resistance proved futile. As the old saying goes, "two fists cannot defeat four hands"—and though it wielded six arms, the Never-Ending Nightmare technique generated tens of thousands of ghostly limbs.

The endless arms of the spirit world threatened to completely overwhelm Mega Gengar, and Roy's Pokémon found itself unable to use Teleport to escape the predicament.

Only when the blade of the Demon Shadow General swept through with a devastating Slash, clearing the area completely, was Roy's Mega Gengar finally able to break free. Even then, numerous wounds marked its ethereal body.

But as Mega Gengar escaped its prison of spectral arms, an enormous face—larger than even the Demon Shadow General—materialized before its eyes. The massive visage seemed capable of devouring the entire world in a single terrifying gulp.

After unleashing Never-Ending Nightmare, Chris had immediately activated Gigantamax without hesitation.

This was the King of Gengar, already enlarged by the "Lordly Presence" ability effect, making it twice the size of a normal Pokémon. Now, with Gigantamax active, it had grown even more colossal.

Standing upon the ethereal ground of the spirit world, the Gigantamax King of Gengar truly resembled a fearsome Demon God—a terrible entity that devoured all Ghost-types.

The spirit world battlefield had been active for some time, drawing many Ghost-type Pokémon and actual spirits to the area. But upon sensing this overwhelming malevolent aura, they immediately fled in terror, escaping at speeds far greater than their initial approach.

"Shadow Ball!" Chris commanded with authority.

The gigantic King of Gengar began gathering Ghost-type energy within its massive maw, which resembled a portal to another dimension. Instantly, a huge vortex appeared in the sky above, absorbing all surrounding energy and transforming it into an enormous Gigantamax Shadow Ball.

The attack resembled a black sun hanging ominously in the heavens.

Victor and Tate, who had been observing the battle from mid-air, quickly directed their Pokémon to retreat to a safer distance.

If they remained too close, they would inevitably be caught in the devastating aftermath.

As for the two smaller islands flanking the central battleground—well, after this battle concluded, it seemed likely that all three islands would cease to exist entirely.

"Gengar, we're going Gigantamax too!" Roy gazed up at the Shadow Ball that threatened to eclipse the entire sky, took a deep breath, and swiftly recalled his Mega Gengar to its Poké Ball.

First Gigantamax, then release.

Out emerged the Gigantamax Mega Gengar. However, compared to the King of Gengar, it appeared significantly smaller—like a child facing its parent.

The Demon Shadow technique, which had been canceled when the Pokémon was recalled, reactivated simultaneously with its release.

Because Mega Gengar had undergone Gigantamax transformation, the demon shadow it projected had also grown to gigantic proportions.

In an instant, a Demon Shadow General stretching over a thousand meters in length and composed entirely of Ghost-type energy materialized on the battlefield. Though enlarged like a stretched computer image, causing its armor texture to appear somewhat blurred and pixelated, this did nothing to diminish the Shadow General's terrifying presence.

On the mainland dozens of kilometers away, many coastal residents playing on the beaches witnessed this nightmarish spectacle.

Countless people fled the shoreline screaming, spreading word of the terrifying sight they had witnessed.

Some began frantically calling emergency services, reporting that a demon god had descended to destroy the world.

The few Trainers confident enough in their abilities sent out their Pokémon to investigate the disturbance.

Back on the battlefield where Chris and Roy faced off, the massive Shadow Ball launched forward while the Demon Shadow General swung its enormous glaive in a devastating slash.

"BOOM!"

Energy collided with catastrophic force, erupting in absolute darkness. The extreme blackness proved as blinding as the most brilliant light.

The sound was deafening—like the very fabric of reality tearing apart.

Surging energy burst outward and dissipated across several kilometers. Terrifying power ripped through the surrounding area, causing even the air itself to vibrate violently with faint traces of spatial fracturing.

As experienced Trainers, both Chris and Roy had already evacuated the immediate battlefield. The epicenter of such an energy collision would inevitably be flooded with devastating power—force capable of destroying an entire city in mere moments, let alone the small island beneath their feet.

Before the collision occurred, Chris's Gardevoir had teleported him to safety.

Roy had been similarly evacuated by his loyal Mismagius.

"Patter, patter..."

Dark clouds gathered overhead as heavy rain began to fall, as if nature itself were attempting to act as a firefighter, extinguishing the flames of this epic battle.

However, the confrontation was far from over.

As the surging energy gradually dispersed into the air and rain, two Pokémon were revealed standing in the aftermath.

Both Chris's King of Gengar and Roy's Gigantamax Mega Gengar remained at full fighting capacity.

The previous exchange had been merely a violent collision of pure energy.

With such massive forces at play, it proved impossible to determine which side held the advantage.

Chris and Roy stood facing each other across a considerable distance.

Confirming that their opponent's Pokémon retained full battle capability, both Trainers prepared to launch their next assault.

"Gengar, let's settle this! Six Paths Ghost Shadow Slash!" Roy shouted with determination.

Mega Gengar's eyes blazed with brilliant purple light—a clear sign of its maximum effort. Pressing both hands down firmly, it caused the very spirits within the dimensional space to riot in response.

Unlike the Six Paths Ghost Shadow Fist technique, the Six Paths Ghost Shadow Slash was actually a specialized move of the Demon Shadow General itself.

In the blink of an eye, the demon shadow behind Mega Gengar sprouted four additional thick arms, each wielding a massive glaive—six weapons total.

The Demon Shadow General now possessed six arms and six glaives. At this moment, its appearance no longer resembled a worldly general, but rather an Asura—a fierce demon of war and destruction.

Under Mega Gengar's precise control, the Demon Shadow General raised all six glaives and charged forward to strike the King of Gengar.

Facing Roy's ultimate special attack, Chris decided to respond with his own secret technique.

He reached up and unbuttoned the top button of his shirt, revealing a stone that pulsed with brilliant light.

After three intense battles, the resonance stone had reached full charge capacity.

"Resonance Explosion!" Chris declared, clenching his fist.

An additional status condition appeared in the King of Gengar's interface.

Resonance Explosion: Pokémon gains "Superior Body" condition; next move is elevated to "Super Ultimate," with power increased by 50% for 10 seconds duration.

MEGA Evolution, Gigantamax transformation, and the spirit world battlefield—every possible enhancement had been activated to maximum potential.

Chris shouted with overwhelming intensity: "G-Max Terror!"

G-Max Terror—Gengar's exclusive Gigantamax move.

In an instant, the King of Gengar's pupils turned blood red, like those of a true demon. Its form wavered slightly, appearing to tremble, but in the next moment, countless copies of the King of Gengar materialized, darkening the sky like an apocalyptic swarm.

Meanwhile, the Demon Shadow General launched itself forward alongside Mega Gengar in their final, decisive clash.
