Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Incoming Danger

"We have four hours to pull this off"

Sebastian's voice echoed in the grand hall of the Carrington manor.

He was at the top of the staircase, looking down on the staff.

They were all dressed in black and white, like a penguin army.

"You are dismissed"

The maids and helpers ran off to complete their tasks.

"Is a party really necessary?" Hardin sauntered down the staircase. A black silky robe was wrapped loosely around his body.

His blonde hair was a dishevled mess.

"What better way for a Carrington to mark their presence than a party?" Sebastian smirked proudly as he followed closely behind.

"Do i have to?" Hardin opened traveled through the halls of the manor until he reached an area he reached a bar area.

He got behind the counter and pulled out a bottle of scotch from a honeycomb shaped cubicle. "Cheap" he commented lowly as he poured it into a glass.

"Yes, it's always been like this" Sebastian sat down on a stool on the outside of the counter. "Why don't you want one?"

He poured a packet of blood from a small refrigerator and mixed it it with the scotch.

He took one sip and shrugged his shoulders. "I think i would prefer it if i stayed away from humans for a while. They're exhausting little creatures."

Sebastian sighed. "Is this because of yesterday?"

"What about yesterday?"

"The woman, the one we saw by the road" Sebastian said, tilting his head to the side. "Does she remind you of home?"

His grip on the cup tightened. "Hell wasn't home" he hissed.

"If that is the case, then this party is happening" Sebastian decided. "You are going to draw out that royal and you're to send a message to her family."

Hardin downed the whole cup and slammed it on the island. "Now that you can count on," his lips twisted into an unsettling grin.

----

Ethan slid a ward of cash on the counter and flashed a smile.

He was in a movie store.

"What do you want?" The cashier asked annoyed.

"I want the special treatment" He whispered lowly.

The cashier leaned closer to Ethan. "The last time you came here, i was nearly arrested" he scowled.

"I'm sorry, i swear i didn't know that he was following us" Ethan whispered.

The cashier narrowed his eyes and grabbed the cash, Ethan's face lit up.

"Follow me"

Ethan waved his hand, at a girl standing outside. The girl had a baseball cap, a cropped top and some baggy ripped jeans.

She entered the store and her baby blue eyes darted around the store.

"Aria, hurry" Ethan grabbed her hand and followed the cashier into the backroom.

The backroom was like any other backroom at any other store. The only unsual thing was the camera set up infront of a white wall.

"Stand there. Don't smile" The cashier ordered the girl.

Aria obliged. Ethan took off her cap and got behind the cashier.

The camera snapped a few pictures.

"Which name do you want on these?"

Ethan was about to speak but she did before he could. "Aria Morningstar."

The cashier scanned her from head to toe. 'Another crazy one' he thought and shrugged his shoulders unfazed by the name.

He waved his hand at them.

"Now be gone, I'll mail you the item."

Ethan nodded his head.

As soon as they were outside the movie store, Aria's stomach growled.

Ethan paused dead in his tracks. 'Do i pretend i didnt hear or what?' He sweatdropped.

She placed her hand over her stomach. "When can we eat?"

He relaxed instantly.

He spotted a fastfood resturant on the opposite side of the street—a resturant he knew all too well.

"Now" he answered as he began walking to it, her hand in his.

'This little shit has been holding my hand the whole day and its starting to piss me off' Aria thought her eyes focused on their hands.

A bell chimed when they entered the store. They sat at a booth by the large window.

A waiter came to the table. "Ethan, what can i get you today?" The woman smiled.

Aria stared at the menu, oblivious to her sorroundings.

"I'll get a chicken burger with a side of fries" He said.

Ethan lowered the menu away from her face. "What will you get?" He asked. "Im paying for everything."

Aimee turned her attention to the girl and forced a smile on her face. "What would you like to order?"

"Then I'll take everything on this menu" Aria placed down the menu and interlaced her fingers.

"Everything?"

"Everything."

"Are you sure?"

"I'm sure. What you dont have the money?"

Ethan took out his credit card and put it on the table. "I have the money."

"Good" she propped her chin on her hands and stared right into his eyes.

Aimee groaned in disappointment and jotted down the order. She walked away.

"So why do I need fake documents?" Aria probed.

"So your stay here in the human realm can be cordial, see stuff like that are important to live here."

"Right" she nodded her head in understanding, clearly confused.

Buzz!

Ethan's phone vibrated in his pocket. He answered it without looking at the caller ID.

His face remained black through the call, only humming back to the person.

As soon as he hung up, he trained his eyes on Aria. "Do you wanna go out on date tonight?"

----

Blue circled a pot of steaming melted silver. Beads of sweat trailed down her face.

She picked up a delicate ghost orchid and tossed it inside the boy of melted metal.

"I think it's hot enough" Raphael commented, peering over her shoulder.

Kara placed down a bullet mold beneath the pot. She inhaled sharply and shut her eyes.

She imagined the weight and size of the pot, everything down to the carving on the bottom of the pot.

The pot was hoisted into the air by an unknown and Kara strained at its weight.

She tilted it with a wave of her arm and the mixture poured onto the bullet mold.

Raphael recieved a text from Ethan.

"They're back" Raphael announced.

"Good" Blue said. She reached into her pocket and stared at the invitation from the Carrington family.

A family of demons. Demons that remained untouchable even by the Magical Defence Bureau.

'Why they invite a family with a long history of demon hunters?' She wondered. Whatever the answer was, she was going to be prepared for anything they threw at her.

"We are going to need her help."

The basement door creaked open and footsteps echoed down the staircase.

"What the fuck is going on in my basement?!" Her brother Jackson roared when he saw the teens.

Blue rose her hands up, surrendering. "Relax, i swear it is not what you think"

"So you're not making bullets in by basement?" He cocked his head to the side.

Blue squinted her eyes and pursed her lips together. "If i said no, would you believe me?"

He dropped his hands to his hips. He sauntered upstairs and Blue hurried behind him.

"I thought you were coming back tomorrow" Blue said.

"And that makes it okay for you to do whatever you people are doing down there?" He opened the refrigerator door and his frown deepened. "You drank my beer?"

Blue awkwardly scratched the back of her neck. "Calm down, it was bad and I was just prepping for the party at the Carrington's. Anyway why are you back early?"

Jackson reached into his pocket and dropped a letter on the island separating them. "The bureau sent a warning about the return of the Carrington heir coming to Angelcreek. So I took the first flight here. And you're not going to that party."

"What? Why?" She asked folding her arms over chest.

"Because apparently you're planning an unauthorized assassination."

Blue huffed angrily. "I am not and if you won't take me with you. I will find another that is way more dangerous."

He sneered at her, his dark brown eyes locking with hers. There was a crackle in the air, as Blue held his gaze. Determination burned in her sapphire eyes.

He sighed in defeat. "Fine but no weapons of any sorts."

Her face lit up. "Thanks Jack," she sang as she ran down the basement stairs.

Kara wiped away beads of sweat as she stood beside a tray of the melted silver. The bullets were cooling off. "We heard everything no need to explain," she mumbled.

Blue admired their work, she examined the bullets and nodded her head contently.

"Just incase you're wondering, I told Ethan not to come here" Jackson informed, collapsing onto a black couch.

"Okay, is he bringing her to the party?"

"Yes" Raphael threw his arms up in disbelief. "You know it's crazy how you guys are just willing to accept the devil's actual spawn as an ally."

Kara's eyebrows pulled together as she plopped down on the couch beside Raphael. "We've known her for like fourteen hours and you are just going to blindly trust her."

Blue shrugged her shoulders, not much going through her head. "That is how we became friends" she stated.

Raphael scoffed at her words. There was some truth in her words but that was different.

They were not from Hell.

"The way your mind works blows me away sometimes" Kara snorted, her eyes lowered to the ground.

"We can't write her off without getting to know her" Blue muttered. "If you don't trust her, that is okay. But trust me."

Kara and Raphael exchanged uncertain looks but their leader's eyes made their reluctance weaken.

"Fine but believe us when we way we're going to keep a close eye on her" Kara bellowed.

"Also she would've killed us if she wanted to but she did not" Blue added a sheepish grin spread across her face. "So i believe she genuinely she needs our help with something."

Raphael's resilience did not falter. "We don't know if it's for a bad thing" he muttered lowly, his voice above a whisper.

Kara squeezed his hand reassuringly, he focused his eyes on her freckled face and smiled warmly.

'Why can't these two just kiss already?' Blue giggled internally. 'They would make a cute couple.'

"What should we do till then?" Blue asked, clearing her throat.
