"Lily!" Lu Chen called out as he approached her, a gentlemanly smile gracing his face. "You look extremely beautiful tonight," he praised.
Lily merely cast him a brief glance before turning to Maria. "I'll be back in a while," she informed her before stepping away.
"Are you leaving already? The party hasn't even started," a lady remarked as she stepped forward, handing Lily a glass of wine. "Let's exchange drinks."
Lily smiled politely. "I'm not a fan of wine. I prefer juice."
Lu Chen's smile froze instantly.
"Damn it. How could I forget something so important? She can't drink alcohol," he scolded himself inwardly.
Rosie, who had been silently listening to the conversation, cursed Lu Chen under her breath. "What a fool. Thankfully I came prepared—otherwise, this idiot would have ruined everything," she thought as she stopped a passing server.
