Mechamaru stared at him for a moment, then started moving as well.

The two boys walked slowly through the corridors of the abandoned factory.

Eventually, they emerged onto a wide platform where an old metal tank loomed. Its rusted shell and faded markings suggested it hadn't been used in decades.

Mechamaru stopped and tilted his head slightly. "Here?" he asked in a neutral tone.

Ryosuke halted as well, studying the massive structure with a sly smile. "What, you don't doubt me?" He glanced at Mechamaru, a mischievous glint in his eye. "This place feels almost calm, doesn't it? No cursed energy, no traces of battle… strange, right?"

Mechamaru didn't answer. He simply fixed his gaze on his comrade, waiting for a clear response. The silence made Ryosuke sigh and shrug.

"Yes, it's here," he finally said. He strolled casually up to the tank and laid a hand on it. As his palm touched the cold metal, an invisible ripple spread through the air.

The whole world seemed to waver. The scenery warped like a painting dipped in water. The decaying walls vanished, replaced by an eerie, surreal landscape. The tank twisted and expanded until it became… a giant egg.

The new environment was so sharp and vivid it felt unsettling. The ground was smooth, the factory remnants gone. The battle scars, wall markings, and even the lingering cursed energy from earlier had all been erased, as if by magic.

"A pseudo-domain," Mechamaru said in a low, grave voice.

Ryosuke nodded, lips curling into a satisfied smile. "Not bad, huh? A perfect cover to hide… its mutation stage."

Mechamaru folded his arms, eyes fixed on the egg. "A cursed womb, then?"

"Exactly," Ryosuke replied casually. He stepped back slightly, watching the massive structure. "My aunt told me about these once. They're rare, but they always bring trouble."

Mechamaru moved forward cautiously. "If it really is a cursed womb—"

Ryosuke cut him off with a playful grin. "Then when it hatches, we'll be looking at a grade S curse."

The heavy silence that followed spoke volumes. Mechamaru turned his head slightly, thinking quickly. Ryosuke, on the other hand, stepped closer, brushing his hand across the egg's surface.

"The question is…" he murmured, his smile widening. "Do we let it hatch?"

Mechamaru froze, staring at the egg. The atmosphere thickened, every second dragging out in oppressive silence. At last, he stepped back, his metallic arms crossing.

"We should pull back," he declared.

Ryosuke blinked, surprised.

"Pull back?" he repeated, one brow raised. He smirked mockingly. "Seriously? I thought you'd be the type to want to blow this thing up on the spot."

Mechamaru fixed him with a cold, mechanical stare. "Trust me, I thought about it. But without knowing the egg's evolutionary stage, acting rashly could trigger a disaster. If it's close to hatching, our interference could speed things up instead of stopping it."

Ryosuke listened closely, his sly grin stretching wider. He ran a hand through his hair, chuckling softly. "That works for me, you know? At least I won't have to talk you out of it."

"And what about you? What are you planning to do?"

Ryosuke strolled up to the egg again, brushing his fingers across its smooth, cold surface. A dark wave of cursed energy surged from him, wrapping the shell in a shimmering black aura.

"Just… experimenting a little," he said lightly.

"What are you doing?!" Mechamaru's voice rang out.

Ryosuke half-turned, his lips curled in a teasing smile. "Relax. I've got this."

A sinister crack echoed. The egg began to fissure, faint glowing lines spreading across its surface.

Mechamaru instinctively stepped back. "You're insane, Ryosuke! If this egg hatches, we'll be facing a grade S curse! These things aren't toys!"

Ryosuke shrugged. "Don't worry, Mechamaru. This egg was already about to hatch. I'm just giving it a little push. And besides…" He tapped the shell lightly. "I think it can hear us."

Mechamaru opened his mouth to reply, but a deep rumble suddenly shook the ground beneath their feet, silencing him. Cracks split the floor, and dark shapes began to rise.

Grotesque monstrosities burst forth, their twisted bodies unfolding in a macabre dance. Their glowing red eyes burned in the darkness as a sinister wail filled the air.

"Interesting," Ryosuke murmured, his eyes gleaming dangerously.

Mechamaru activated his defense systems, his arms morphing into sharp blades. "Ryosuke, I hope you know what you're doing."

Ryosuke stepped back slightly, taking position beside him. His grin only widened. "Relax, Mechamaru. Boredom won't be a problem."

The creatures closed in, claws scraping the ground as they prepared to strike.

Encircled, Mechamaru spun and slashed with his blade-arms. His movements were precise, mechanical, relentless. Each strike cut down a monster, but for every one destroyed, two more emerged from the shadows. No matter how many he felled, their numbers only grew.

Ryosuke, by contrast, seemed unfazed by the chaos. He walked calmly toward the cracked egg, excitement blazing in his eyes. He sidestepped lunging creatures with effortless grace. As he neared the massive structure, he glanced at his comrade.

"Mechamaru, you can handle these things, right?"

Pushed to the limit, Mechamaru blasted back an attacker with a powerful strike, then followed up with a burst of searing energy beams. The monsters shrieked, dissolving in the blaze, but he had no respite. Gasping, he shot Ryosuke a furious look.

"You think this is a game?!"

Ryosuke only shrugged, smiling.

"Unfortunately, yeah."

Before Mechamaru could snap back, Ryosuke darted between two creatures, slipping past their claws with unnerving ease. He stretched out his hand, fingers grazing the egg's cracked, icy shell.

That was when everything shifted.

A thunderous crack split the pseudo-domain. The egg shattered in a burst of glowing fragments, and a massive black hand shot from the blinding light. Before Ryosuke could react, it clamped around his throat, lifting him off the ground as though he weighed nothing.

A nightmarish creature emerged, revealed in its terrifying entirety. Its body was humanoid and massive, but its head was that of a serpent, covered in gleaming scales. A long, powerful tail lashed the air with a sinister hiss. Golden eyes blazed with cold, merciless fury as they fixed on Ryosuke with disdain.

"How dare you disturb my evolution, insect?" it hissed, its deep, icy voice making the very air vibrate.
