Chapter 350 - Chapter 350: The True Enemy—Soul Wind from the Soul Clan

Chapter 350: The True Enemy—Soul Wind from the Soul Clan

The sudden appearance of Wu Protector plunged the battlefield into chaos once again. Thick black mist spread across the entire Yunlan Mountain, and a terrifying pressure emanated from it.

Yan Luotian, struggling to suppress the toxic lightning within his body, clenched his teeth in frustration. His face twisted with anger as he glared at the three Mu Lan Elders and furiously shouted:

"What kind of investigation did you do?! Not only did you recruit that traitor, the Heaven Poison Lady, but you failed to gather any real intelligence on Yunlan Sect! What's with this black mist? Why does Yunlan Sect have such a hidden card? This is madness! I should never have listened to you and gotten involved in this mess in the Jia Ma Empire!"

The constant unexpected developments left Yan Luotian cursing out loud.

Hearing this, the Mu Lan Elders' faces darkened as well. Initially, they believed that Mu Lan Valley would be the biggest winner in this plan—not only would they eliminate Mo Yu, their greatest threat, but they would also join forces with Jin Yan Sect and the Poison Sect to divide up the Jia Ma Empire.

However, things had spiraled out of control. Not only had the Little Fairy Doctor betrayed their alliance, but Yunlan Sect also turned out to be far more complex than they had anticipated.

Watching Wu Protector materialize from the black mist, Mo Yu's silver eyes narrowed. His wings of Dou Qi fluttered slightly as he turned to the Little Fairy Doctor and said:

"This person is from the Soul Hall, a powerful figure who has been hiding within Yunlan Sect. His strength is formidable. It seems Xiao Yan might not be able to handle this alone. I'll leave this side to you. I'll go assist Xiao Yan."

The Little Fairy Doctor nodded calmly and smiled, "Don't worry. A seriously wounded Yan Luotian and the three Mu Lan Elders are no match for me. You go help over there."

"Thank you." Mo Yu smiled at her quick agreement, then with a powerful flap of his wings, he flew toward Xiao Yan's location.

"Haha, Yao Chen, I never expected you to walk right into our trap! You barely escaped us last time, causing my Soul Hall a lot of trouble. If I capture you today, the Hall Master will be overjoyed."

"You creatures who crawl in the dark like rats! Back then, you helped that beast Han Feng betray me. We have a score to settle today!"

With the appearance of Wu Protector, Yao Lao (Yao Chen) no longer concealed himself and emerged from Xiao Yan's body. A transparent soul form appeared in the sky, his cold gaze fixed on the black mist that had coalesced into Wu Protector. His voice brimmed with rage and killing intent.

"What is that?"

When the crowd saw the translucent figure floating next to Xiao Yan, they were all bewildered. This mysterious figure was a complete stranger to them.

Although others were confused, Jia Xing Tian and Hai Bodong's faces showed a hint of joy when they saw Yao Lao take action. Finally, Xiao Yan had revealed his greatest trump card.

"If you had a physical body, perhaps I would fear you. But a soul form? Haha, my Soul Hall has plenty of ways to deal with souls like you!" Wu Protector's black mist fluctuated before slowly condensing into the form of a man shrouded in dark smoke. His blood-red eyes gleamed menacingly from the depths of the darkness.

Yao Lao's eyes narrowed as a pale white flame flickered in his palm. He glanced at Xiao Yan and said, "As I suspected, Yunlan Sect harbors a strong presence from the Soul Hall. It seems I won't be able to help you now. This man is no ordinary enemy; even I would find it difficult to defeat him."

"Teacher, just focus on holding him off. As for Yun Shan, I'll handle him." Seeing Yao Lao's grave expression, Xiao Yan knew that today's battle would force him to reveal all his cards. He nodded seriously and spoke with determination.

Yao Lao sighed. The situation today was indeed dire.

"Wu Protector, Yao Chen is all yours," Yun Shan said with a cold laugh, his malicious gaze shifting toward Xiao Yan.

As Yun Shan was about to strike at Xiao Yan, a voice filled with mockery suddenly rang out. "Sect Master Yun Shan, don't forget about me." A silver-eyed young man flew into the battlefield.

"Mo Yu, it's you!"

Yun Shan's eyes narrowed as he recognized the newcomer. His voice turned cold, "Hmph, you're just another fool here to die."

"Mo Yu, you're here!" Xiao Yan exclaimed with relief, his face lighting up with a smile.

"Yes, the situation over there is under control thanks to the Little Fairy Doctor. I'm here to help you." Mo Yu smiled back.

"Oh, so she's called the Little Fairy Doctor?" Xiao Yan glanced at the white-haired woman in the distance. For some reason, hearing her name stirred a strange sense of familiarity in his heart.

Shaking off the feeling, Xiao Yan thanked Mo Yu, "Thank you, Cousin Mo Yu, for your help. But I'm more concerned about Teacher's side…"

As he spoke, Xiao Yan's worried gaze drifted toward the battle between Yao Lao and Wu Protector.

Understanding Xiao Yan's concern, Mo Yu nodded and summoned his Fire Demon Puppet, sending it to Xiao Yan. "Let it assist you in dealing with Yun Shan. I'll go help Yao Lao."

"Thank you, Cousin!" Xiao Yan's face lit up with joy.

"No need to thank me. Yao Lao is a senior figure I deeply respect. Fighting alongside him is my honor. Besides, the Soul Hall is the true culprit behind the massacre of my grandfather and hundreds of Xiao Clan members. Since I've encountered them, I won't let them get away!" Mo Yu's voice turned icy.

Leaving the Fire Demon Puppet with Xiao Yan, Mo Yu flew toward the battle between Yao Lao and Wu Protector.

Whoosh!

In the sky, a black chain shot forward like a venomous serpent, tearing through space and speeding toward Yao Lao. The chain's tip was covered in mysterious runes and spiraled with deadly energy, emanating a chilling and murderous aura.

Yao Lao did not dare to be careless. The pale white flame in his palm surged upward, forming a blazing arrow that shot out to meet the chain head-on.

Boom!

When the two forces collided, the impact wasn't as explosive as expected. Instead, a black-and-white energy ripple spread out silently, causing slight tremors in the space around it.

The strange combination of cold and heat that transmitted through the chain even caused Wu Protector's Dou Qi to waver for a moment. He sneered and shook his arm, summoning three black chains that danced around him like venomous snakes.

"Three-Segment Soul Lock!"

Wu Protector extended his hand, sending the three chains whistling through the air. They twisted and turned, creating a net that left Yao Lao with no escape routes.

"Yao Lao, let me help you!"

Mo Yu arrived just in time, his sleeves flicking as three bolts of lightning—one crimson, one pale white, and one transparent—burst forth.

These three bolts of lightning, representing the powers of the mysterious Heavenly Thunder, coiled around Mo Yu and shot toward the chains, intercepting them with a deafening clash.

The sound of metal striking metal echoed through the air as sparks flew from the collision. Despite the chains' strange, unpredictable movements, Mo Yu's lightning serpents were able to block them completely, showcasing his exceptional combat skills.

Seeing Mo Yu's powerful intervention, Wu Protector was momentarily stunned. He could feel the immense, chaotic energy surging through the chains each time they collided with the lightning bolts, unsettling his balance.

"Damn it! How did this brat get here? And what's with his lightning? No wonder the Hall places such importance on him!"

As the battle intensified, Wu Protector's heart grew heavier. Mo Yu's formidable techniques and the frightening nature of his lightning were far beyond what Wu Protector had expected.

"No matter! I don't have to deal with him myself. Someone else will!" Wu Protector muttered, retracting his chains.

"Why are you here?" Yao Lao asked Mo Yu, glancing at him.

"Xiao Yan was worried about you, so I came. And since we've run into the Soul Hall, I can't let them go," Mo Yu replied.

Yao Lao looked over at Xiao Yan's battle and saw that with the help of the Fire Demon Puppet, Yun Shan was beginning to lose ground.

"Haha, you've certainly got a lot of tricks up your sleeve, kid. Xiao Yan is lucky to have a cousin like you," Yao Lao chuckled, stroking his beard in satisfaction.

"You're too kind. This is my duty," Mo Yu smiled, turning his gaze back toward Wu Protector. "Let's deal with him quickly before more from the Soul Hall show up."

Having faced Mu Gu Elder earlier in the Black-Corner Region, Mo Yu knew there could be more Soul Hall experts lurking nearby. If another Protector or even a higher-ranking elder arrived, things would take a dire turn.

"Yes, it's been too long since I've had a good fight. Let's take down this Wu Protector." Yao Lao's voice was cold as his eyes flared with anger. After all, it was the Soul Hall that had caused his fall.

Hearing their intent to defeat him together, Wu Protector's expression darkened. "Two pests who slipped through our fingers, daring to speak such arrogance? What a joke!"

He glared viciously at Mo Yu, a sinister smile crossing his face. "Unfortunately, I won't be the one to kill you. But don't worry, the Soul Hall has someone much stronger to take care of you."

With that, Wu Protector raised his hand and produced a simple-looking token from his storage ring. Sneering at Mo Yu, he crushed the token in his hand.

The moment the token shattered, the space around them rippled violently. Thick black fog began to seep out, and a terrifying aura slowly spread across the battlefield, drawing the attention of everyone present.

As all eyes turned toward the source of the black mist, a figure began to emerge.

The figure lifted his head as the fog dispersed, revealing a young man, seemingly in his early twenties, with an expressionless face devoid of any emotion. His most striking feature was his pitch-black eyes—so black that they lacked any whites at all, giving him an eerie, lifeless appearance.

The man slowly scanned the battlefield, his black eyes finally settling on Mo Yu.

A chill crept up Mo Yu's spine as their gazes met. The man's lifeless stare filled him with a deep sense of unease.

The black-robed figure's cold voice broke the silence. "So, you're Mo Yu, the one the Thunder Clan's Black Demon Army welcomed. You don't seem like much."

With that, the black-robed man lifted his eyelids slightly, his voice indifferent as he continued, "No matter. Consider this a little challenge. I am Soul Wind, of the Soul Clan, here to challenge the young generation of the Thunder Clan."
