Chapter 469 - Chapter 469: Pill Beast, Small Nine Nether Yellow Spring

Chapter 469: Pill Beast, Small Nine Nether Yellow Spring

"Pill Chamber!"

Mo Yu muttered softly as he looked at the ancient door of the pill chamber, now covered in a thick layer of dust. He gave it a gentle push, and the door opened.

"Let's take a look inside."

Muttering to himself, Mo Yu stepped into the spacious hall.

In the first level of the pill chamber, there were rows of display tables filled with various types of pills. Some of these pills had been lost to time, their formulas long forgotten. However, after a quick glance, Mo Yu lost interest.

The pills on the first level, though numerous and ancient, were all low-grade pills that no longer held any value for someone of his level.

With that, Mo Yu moved deeper into the pill chamber. After finding the stairs leading upward, he immediately headed to the second level.

As soon as he entered the second level, Mo Yu furrowed his brow, took a deep breath, and muttered, "The air here... seems poisonous."

In response, a layer of ghostly green thunder flickered to life around Mo Yu, enveloping him and quickly devouring the toxins in the air.

Although the poison on this level could harm even Douzong experts, it posed no threat to Mo Yu, who possessed the Mystical Yin Poison Devil Thunder.

He casually searched the second level, and it became clear that the pills here were of much higher quality than those on the first level. Without hesitation, Mo Yu waved his hand and collected all the pills on this floor.

Even though he might not need them, he thought they would make excellent rewards for the members of his faction, Yuanfu.

After spending about half an hour cleaning out the second level, Mo Yu was satisfied. Among the loot, he had collected over twenty pills like the Douhuang Pill and the Breakthrough Pill, both highly valuable in the outside world.

Once these pills were used effectively, Yuanfu's strength could reach new heights. As he thought about Yuanfu, Mo Yu stroked his chin. When he revived Uncle Snake and returned to Central Plains, Yuanfu would likely have already reached the Western Region. At that point, their first target would be the Ten Thousand Sword Pavilion, which would establish Yuanfu's reputation in Central Plains.

Shaking his head with a smile, Mo Yu refocused on the task at hand: reviving Uncle Snake.

He proceeded to the passage leading to the third level, and after confirming there was no danger, he entered.

The third level of the pill chamber was vast, with numerous large pill rooms. The decorations and arrangements here were far more extravagant than the previous two levels.

"Oh, the poison here seems to corrode internal Dou Qi."

The Mystical Yin Poison Devil Thunder was highly sensitive to toxins. As soon as Mo Yu entered, he noticed the potent poison in the air. However, despite the stronger poison, it still had no effect on him thanks to the protective power of his poison thunder.

"I wonder if there are any legendary ninth-grade pills here. If there are, that would be quite a stroke of luck."

Mo Yu's gaze scanned the surrounding pill rooms as he muttered to himself.

"Then again, even for a Dou Saint, ninth-grade pills are incredibly rare. It's unlikely there's one here." He chuckled, shaking his head, and casually entered a nearby pill room.

The pill room was spacious and tidy. After searching for a while, Mo Yu found an ancient pill recipe. After a quick glance, he stored it in his Beast Ring. While he wasn't an alchemist, Yuanfu had its own Pill Hall, and Gu He, a skilled alchemist, could study the recipe. Who knows, it might be quite valuable.

Aside from the recipe, Mo Yu also found a bottle of unopened pills. Judging by the faint medicinal scent leaking from the bottle, the pills seemed to be of the seventh grade, though Mo Yu couldn't immediately determine their effect.

After clearing out this pill room, Mo Yu continued searching and explored eight more pill rooms. Although he didn't find anything particularly surprising, he did make some decent gains.

Moreover, some of the ancient pill recipes he found could be used to train a new generation of sixth- or even seventh-grade alchemists for Yuanfu.

"Creak."

Mo Yu pushed open another pill room door, this one in a corner, and walked in. As he scanned the room, he frowned.

Compared to the other pill rooms, this one was much smaller and appeared rather empty. There didn't seem to be anything of value.

"What a pity."

After a quick glance, Mo Yu lost interest and turned to leave. Just as he was about to step out, a purple-gold shadow suddenly darted across the empty room.

Startled by the sudden movement, Mo Yu instinctively activated his Dou Qi, scanning the area where the shadow had appeared. He froze.

It was a small creature, covered in purple-gold fur. The creature looked like a snake but was unusually plump. Its round, chubby body made it resemble a fat earthworm. However, Mo Yu sensed no energy fluctuations from the creature, suggesting it was just an ordinary little beast.

Seeing this, Mo Yu relaxed. He glanced at the chubby little creature and was about to leave when a thought struck him.

Wait… this is the Sea Demon Sovereign's relic. How could an ordinary, powerless beast appear here, no matter how cute or chubby it is?

His brow furrowed as he refocused his gaze on the little creature. After a moment, realization dawned on him.

"This thing… it's a pill?" Mo Yu's eyes lit up with excitement.

As an eighth-grade alchemy master, Mo Yu's soul power was incredibly strong, and after closely examining the creature, he recognized its true nature.

On the Dou Qi Continent, there were indeed high-grade pills capable of transforming into living creatures, even developing intelligence. Given that this was an ancient relic possibly left behind by a Saint-level expert like the Sea Demon Sovereign, finding such a pill here wasn't too surprising.

With a sharp glint in his eye, Mo Yu thought to himself.

Since his rebirth, this was the first time he had encountered a pill that could transform into a creature. Previously, he had only read about such things in ancient texts.

"Still, this little creature doesn't seem to be a legendary ninth-grade pill yet," he muttered, observing the beast more closely.

While Mo Yu wasn't an alchemist, he knew enough to recognize that pills capable of transforming didn't have to be ninth-grade. Any pill that had undergone seven-colored or higher pill lightning could take on a beastly form and develop intelligence.

Staring intently at the little creature, Mo Yu murmured, "If I'm not mistaken, this creature must be a pill that's undergone seven- or even eight-colored pill lightning. It's not far from becoming a ninth-grade pill."

After realizing this, Mo Yu's heart leaped with joy.

An eighth-grade pill that had endured seven-colored pill lightning! Even across the entire Dou Qi Continent, the number of alchemists capable of creating such a pill could probably be counted on one hand.

"If word of this gets out, the strong in the Southern Sea region will go mad for it," Mo Yu chuckled.

Such a pill would be irresistible even to ancient beings. If any of them learned about it, they would stop at nothing to seize it.

For a Dou Zun expert, it was exceedingly difficult to increase their strength. If they could consume this pill, their power would greatly increase, saving them decades or even centuries of cultivation. How many could resist such temptation?

"How should I capture this pill beast…" Mo Yu muttered, looking at the purple-gold creature.

Though the little guy didn't seem particularly strong, it was tricky. If it ran away, tracking it down in such a large pill chamber without its energy signature would be nearly impossible.

Realizing this, Mo Yu dismissed the idea of using brute force. That approach would be useless against a pill beast.

With a smile, he pulled out a jade bottle from his Beast Ring, filled with several fourth-grade pills he had collected from the second level. He took one out and tossed it toward the purple-gold creature.

The pill rolled next to the creature, but it only sniffed at it, showing no interest. Shaking its head, it backed away, clearly unimpressed by such a low-grade pill.

Mo Yu chuckled in surprise and, with a sigh, pulled out a higher-quality sixth-grade pill from his ring. He flicked it over to the beast.

This time, the creature's eyes lit up, and with a flick of its pink tongue, it quickly scooped up the pill and crunched it down, chewing noisily.

After eating the sixth-grade pill, the creature looked up at Mo Yu, its big, lively eyes staring at him expectantly, its pink tongue flicking in and out, clearly wanting more.

Seeing this, Mo Yu was delighted. The ancient records were correct: pill beasts could be tamed with pills.

Mo Yu pulled out a few more sixth-grade pills and flicked them toward the little creature. It eagerly devoured them all.

As it swallowed more pills, the creature's wariness toward Mo Yu gradually diminished.

Ten minutes later, after consuming about ten pills, the creature was clearly more comfortable with Mo Yu, but it still wasn't ready to fully submit.

Frowning, Mo Yu realized this little beast was highly cautious.

But then, as he looked at the creature's purple-gold fur, an idea struck him. If he could use this to lure the little creature, he might be able to tame it.

With a flick of his hand, a purple-gold scale appeared, emitting a unique aura. This aura came from the Nine-Winged Purple Gold Serpent and was somewhat similar to the energy of the Sea Demon Sovereign, the master of this relic.

As soon as the creature saw the scale, its eyes widened. In an instant, its round body sprang into the air, forming an arc as it rushed eagerly toward Mo Yu.

Seeing this, Mo Yu smiled brightly.

"Looks like you've taken the bait."

The purple-gold creature flew through the air and landed directly in Mo Yu's arms.

After playing with the little creature for a while, Mo Yu noticed it was nudging his hand, indicating that it wanted him to follow it somewhere.

Curious, Mo Yu set the creature down, letting it lead the way.

The purple-gold creature hissed a few times, then guided Mo Yu out of the pill chamber and toward the depths of the hall.

After walking for about ten minutes, Mo Yu saw a massive, dark ravine appear in front of him.

The ravine was dozens of meters wide and bottomless, with a chilling wind howling up from its depths. The cold was so intense that even a strong warrior would feel their blood and Dou Qi freeze just by standing near it.

Seeing this terrifying ravine, Mo Yu's expression became serious. It reminded him of the Nine Nether Yellow Spring, a terrifying location known to one of the three major families of the magical beast world—the Nine Nether Earth Serpent Clan.

In the original story, Cai Lin had evolved into the Nine-Colored Heaven Swallowing Python within the Nine Nether Yellow Spring. Now, here was a smaller version of the Nine Nether Yellow Spring. Could this be where the inheritance of the Nine-Winged Purple Gold Serpent was hidden?

At that moment, the purple-gold creature circled around Mo Yu, seemingly urging him to enter the ravine.

Gritting his teeth, Mo Yu glanced at the dark abyss. Picking up the creature, he summoned the Void-Shattering Thunder with a flick of his sleeve. A powerful spatial force enveloped him, cutting through the icy winds as he descended into the depths of the ravine.

The ravine was deep, and even with Mo Yu's speed, it took nearly twenty minutes to reach the bottom.

As he neared the ground, a massive lake came into view, its chilling aura seeping into the air, freezing even Dou Qi.

The lake was vast, and its water was a deep yellow, with streaks of blood-red flowing through it.

Wisps of pale yellow mist mixed with faint traces of blood drifted up from the lake, rising into the sky.

"This really is similar to the Nine Nether Yellow Spring."

Looking at the yellow lake, Mo Yu breathed a sigh of relief and cautiously approached. The closer he got to the lake, the more he felt an ominous, cold energy trying to burrow into his body.
