Chapter 509 - Chapter 509: Twin Dragon Fame, The Ruins Open

Chapter 509: Twin Dragon Fame, The Ruins Open

As Mo Yu and his group appeared, four overwhelming auras surged together like mighty dragons, sweeping outward.

The sudden and intense pressure forced the Thunder Master and his two companions to retreat two steps. The surrounding experts from the Wind Lightning Pavilion turned pale, their breathing becoming heavy, and their eyes filled with shock.

The sudden surge of powerful auras also caused an uproar among the onlookers, who stared in disbelief at Mo Yu and his companions standing behind Xiao Yan.

Only now did they realize that the three people who had been watching the spectacle with them were actually Dou Zun-level experts!

After stepping back two steps, the Thunder Master halted, his gaze filled with shock as he looked at the three standing behind Xiao Yan.

Focusing on Mo Yu for an extra second, the Thunder Master exclaimed, "It's you, Mo Yu, the Lord of Yuan Mansion from the Western Region!"

As the rising power that destroyed the Wan Jian Pavilion, Yuan Mansion and its leader Mo Yu were even more famous than Starfall Pavilion and Xiao Yan.

Seeing Mo Yu siding with Xiao Yan left the Thunder Master deeply shaken.

"How is this possible? How did Starfall Pavilion and Yuan Mansion get involved with each other?"

His mind was racing like a storm. While Yuan Mansion was a newly risen force in the Central Plains, it had gained immense fame. Not only had it defeated the combined forces of Wan Jian Pavilion and the Netherworld Sect's Western Alliance, but it now dominated the Western Region. Its strength even surpassed that of older, established factions like the Wind Lightning Pavilion.

The two beast-robed elders standing beside the Thunder Master also wore troubled expressions. Four Dou Zuns—this number alone exceeded the combined top powerhouses of their two clans.

Under the immense pressure of these vast auras, the atmosphere on the mountain peak grew oppressive. The once-proud disciples of the Wind Lightning Pavilion were now exchanging uneasy glances, too afraid to move.

The tiger-robed elder opened his mouth, wanting to say something, but when he saw the cold expressions on Mo Yu and Xiao Yan's faces, he wisely kept quiet and turned to glance at the increasingly grim Thunder Master.

The Wind Lightning Pavilion was clearly at a disadvantage now. Leaving quietly would be the best option, because if a fight broke out and they were thrown out by force, the humiliation would be even greater.

The Thunder Master's expression was as dark as a storm cloud. He turned his gaze to Mo Yu and asked in a deep voice, "Lord Mo, why are you involving yourself in the matters between my Wind Lightning Pavilion and Starfall Pavilion?"

Mo Yu smiled slightly. "Hehe, Xiao Yan is my cousin. So, Thunder Master, what do you think? Should I get involved?"

Hearing this, everyone present was stunned. Their eyes darted between Mo Yu and Xiao Yan, filled with disbelief.

The two most prominent rising geniuses of the Central Plains in recent years were actually cousins?

What kind of family could produce two such monstrous talents at the same time?

The Thunder Master's face twisted as he heard this, clearly shocked. Even he hadn't expected there to be such a connection between Xiao Yan and Mo Yu.

"Let's go!"

Seeing the friendly relationship between Mo Yu and Xiao Yan made the Thunder Master's fury grow, but he understood the situation. With the combined strength of Yuan Mansion and Starfall Pavilion, they could easily throw him and his people off the mountain.

Knowing when to cut his losses, the Thunder Master decided to retreat. He forced down his rage, waved his hand, and began walking down the mountain path with a scowl on his face.

The defeated disciples of the Wind Lightning Pavilion dejectedly packed up their camp, following behind him like a pack of beaten dogs.

"Xiao Yan, Mo Yu, don't think you've won for good. I'll get my revenge one day!" the Thunder Master growled as he paused before leaving.

"We'll be waiting," Mo Yu and Xiao Yan said in unison, exchanging a glance and a smile.

"Hmph!" The Thunder Master's face twitched, and he angrily flicked his sleeve before turning and leading his group away.

As the Wind Lightning Pavilion retreated, the disciples of Starfall Pavilion erupted into cheers, their faces glowing with excitement as they looked at their new deputy chief, Xiao Yan, and at Mo Yu, the genius of Yuan Mansion.

Most of the Starfall Pavilion disciples had no idea about the alliance between their pavilion and Yuan Mansion, so to them, both Mo Yu and Yuan Mansion were mysterious and unknown entities.

"Set up camp, and prepare a few extra tents for Mo Yu and his companions," Xiao Yan ordered.

"Yes, sir!" the Starfall Pavilion disciples responded in unison, quickly moving to follow Xiao Yan's orders.

Meanwhile, many of them glanced curiously at Mo Yu, the silver-eyed youth. To think that the famous Lord of Yuan Mansion was Xiao Yan's cousin! What kind of family was this to produce two such monstrous talents?

After setting up the camp, the disciples dispersed to establish their tents, while the spectators in the sky, who had been watching the conflict with great interest, finally began to leave, shaking their heads in slight disappointment. Though the fight they had anticipated hadn't occurred, no one felt too let down. They had learned something explosive: the Lord of Yuan Mansion and the deputy chief of Starfall Pavilion were cousins!

Was the fame of the Xiao Family's Twin Dragons about to spread once again across the Central Plains?

"Mo Yu, cousin, Zi Yan, and Little Doctor Immortal. I didn't expect to see you all here in the Beast Domain," Xiao Yan said with a smile as he approached after everything was settled.

"Indeed," Mo Yu nodded lightly. "If I'm not mistaken, we have the same goal—both of us are here for the ancient ruins. I didn't expect you not only to have broken through to Dou Zun but also to have become the deputy chief of Starfall Pavilion."

"Hehe, it was Teacher's decision, and I couldn't refuse, so I accepted. But it's nothing compared to how you built Yuan Mansion from scratch," Xiao Yan chuckled, scratching his head.

Mo Yu nodded in agreement. Since Yao Lao was one of the founders of Starfall Pavilion, it was natural for Xiao Yan, his disciple, to be appointed as the deputy chief.

"So, Xiao Yan, what brings you here? Are you after the legendary heavenly Dou Technique?" Mo Yu asked.

Xiao Yan shook his head. "The heavenly Dou Technique is too far out of reach. Starfall Pavilion is here for the Soul Infant Fruit, which is crucial for helping my teacher, Yao Lao, reform his body. That's why I came personally. What about you, Mo Yu? Are you here for the heavenly Dou Technique?"

Mo Yu smiled and shook his head. "No, I came to the Beast Domain for another matter, but when I heard rumors that the Dragon-Phoenix Origin Fruit was in the ancient ruins, I knew I had to come. The Dragon-Phoenix Origin Fruit is incredibly important to Zi Yan as a member of the Ancient Void Dragon Clan. If she can absorb the fruit, her potential will be limitless."

"Dragon-Phoenix Origin Fruit…" Xiao Yan murmured, his expression becoming serious. As an alchemist, he knew how valuable the fruit was to someone like Zi Yan.

"If you need help, just call on me. I'll be there," Xiao Yan offered.

"Hehe, there's no need for such formalities between us. I'll also keep an eye out for the Soul Infant Fruit for you," Mo Yu replied with a light laugh.

The two cousins exchanged a smile, their mutual understanding unspoken.

"Is that the location of the ancient ruins?" Zi Yan asked, her large eyes blinking as she pointed ahead.

"Yes," Xiao Yan nodded.

Mo Yu followed her gaze and could sense that the space there was slightly distorted. Clearly, the ancient ruins were heavily protected by a powerful barrier.

"The ancient ruins are full of dangers, including formidable ancient corpse puppets guarding them and strange traps. Even Dou Zun experts can't let their guard down," said an elder of Starfall Pavilion, stepping forward and speaking respectfully behind Xiao Yan.

"The ancient ruins are sealed within a spatial barrier. Occasionally, the barrier will develop cracks, allowing some strong individuals to enter. However, most of them have been forced to flee in embarrassment. So far, no Dou Zun has dared to enter because the spatial barrier reacts violently to any attempt by a Dou Zun to force their way in. The seal was set by a Dou Saint, and even after all these years, it's still dangerous to challenge," the elder explained.

"Dou Zuns can't enter?" Little Doctor Immortal asked, her beautiful eyes showing a hint of confusion.

"Hehe, don't worry, young lady. The seal is weakening, and in a few days, it will completely disappear. Once the barrier is gone, Dou Zun experts will be able to enter safely. Many Dou Zuns are waiting for that moment," the elder reassured her, sensing her powerful aura and knowing she was associated with Yuan Mansion.

Little Doctor Immortal nodded and then asked the elder for directions to their tent before heading off to rest.

"Any news from the Hall of Souls?" Mo Yu suddenly asked.

Xiao Yan frowned and shook his head. "No, but those guys are always mysterious and hard to track. If they're coming, most people won't even know they're here. Teacher and the others believe the Hall of Souls will get involved, but we don't know how many of their experts they'll send."

Mo Yu nodded in understanding. "In that case, we'll just have to face whatever comes our way. If the Hall of Souls shows up, we'll make sure they pay!"

After a brief conversation, the group disbanded to prepare for the opening of the ancient ruins.

...

A few days later, Mo Yu, Xiao Yan, and their companions were fully prepared. Only Mo Yu, Xiao Yan, Little Doctor Immortal, and the recently arrived Tian Huo Zun Zhe would enter the ruins. The other Starfall Pavilion disciples and elders stayed behind to support them from the outside.

Standing on the edge of the mountain peak, Mo Yu gazed at the swarms of people flying toward the ruins. His eyebrows raised slightly.

It was clear that the allure of a Dou Saint's ruins was far greater than that of the Sea Demon Sovereign's ruins in the South Sea. The sheer number of people gathered here was overwhelming.

"Let's go," Mo Yu said, wasting no time as he waved his hand and transformed into a streak of light, heading toward the center of the mountain range. Xiao Yan, Little Doctor Immortal, and the others quickly followed.

The Bone Mountains were now buzzing with life, and the air was filled with countless figures soaring toward the ancient ruins. Even the bone-chilling cold that was characteristic of the Bone Mountains had been dispersed by the sheer energy of the crowd.

As they made their way toward the ruins, Mo Yu's sharp soul perception allowed him to sense several hidden auras among the surrounding peaks. These dormant forces were also moving now, turning into streaks of light and speeding toward the ruins.

"This ancient ruin is truly going to be a battleground for the strong," Mo Yu muttered. Even he couldn't help but feel the pressure of competing against so many powerful individuals. Securing the treasures in the ruins wouldn't be easy.

But the greater the challenge, the more it fueled Mo Yu's fighting spirit. With his current strength, there were few below the saint level who could stop him!

The group's mountain was already close to the center of the range, so it only took a few minutes before they reached the distorted space ahead.

Mo Yu landed lightly on a giant tree, surveying the scene.

In front of him was a massive basin, stretching for miles, now filled with bones. The entire area was covered in a sea of white bones, creating a chilling, eerie atmosphere.

Around the bone sea stood countless people, all of them staring intently at the distorted space in the center. Once the spatial barrier fell, this sea of people would rush in like waves.

Mo Yu scanned the crowd, his gaze pausing on a few spots.

Raising an eyebrow, he realized that he had already spotted at least three Dou Zun experts at the five-star level or higher.

"The allure of a Dou Saint's ruins is truly unmatched. Even Dou Zun experts can't resist."

Boom!

Just as Mo Yu was thinking this, a faint tremor rippled through the air.

All eyes immediately turned to the bone sea, where the spatial barrier began to ripple.

The ancient ruins were finally about to reappear! (End of Chapter)
