Chapter 2 - Chapter 2:A step forward

A few days had passed since Alex was reborn into a new world.

Alex could be seen laying in his cradle in the middle of the night, staring blankly at the void lost in thought but something unbelievable was happening inside his mind.

In the boundless dark of soul-space, an echo rang out like a divine bell.

In the endless dark of soul-space, a distant chime echoed.

[System Initialization Complete… Binding Host—]

Golden light bloomed into existence, forming intricate patterns and runes above the soul of the infant Alex. The system descended like a divine machine, weaving chains of fate, purpose, and power.

Then

A ripple.

Soft at first. Then piercing.

A strange glow emerged beside him—a stream of violet light, silent and cold, yet somehow… familiar. It pulsed once more, slow and steady, casting its hue upon Alex's translucent soul-form.

He blinked—or would have, if souls had eyes.

What is that…?

The thought barely took shape in his mind. There was no fear. Just curiosity—a childlike wonder.

He reached out, not to defend himself, but as if to ask, Are you part of me?

The purple light reacted.

It moved—fluid, alive, hungry.

Before Alex could speak, the violet light surged forward, weaving itself around the golden system like a serpent claiming its prey. The golden scripts flared in alarm, desperate to escape—but the light tightened, shuddered, then devoured.

The system unraveled.

Its data, bindings, and control protocols shattered like glass, sucked into the endless depth of the purple energy. Alex stared in quiet awe, the question still lingering in his fading thoughts.

…What the fuck just happened!!?

What followed Alex couldn't fathom.

The light pulsed one last time—and sank into him. A hum vibrated through his soul as something ancient bloomed within, the purple light spread within his body, passing through each layer of his body. Vein by vein, nerve by nerve, cell by cell, atom by atom.

Every molecules structure and atom of his body scattered causing his physical body to become blurred for a moment before they restructured themselves in a way that can only be described as perfection.

Alex was in awe throughout the whole ordeal, looking at his body in a third view perspective, he was able to see the whole process.

"Fluff me sideways, what just happened, what was that purple streak of light, why does it feels familiar?"

Then as if reacting to his question the purple light went into his soul.

"Mmmm..."

Alex moaned as he felt the pleasure of his life

As the purple light weaved through his soul as purple pattern with a tinge of red formed around his soul. Runes not of language but of existence danced across his essence before sinking in and disappearing in a flash.

Feeling the pleasure vanish and his perspective shift Alex found himself back in his body but now it felt very foreign to him, it now seemed more.... Complete.

Without even getting the chance to form a thought Alex fragile body and mind collapsed into exhaustion as he slumped to his back, sound asleep. Looking at the baby now no one would have imagined the madding change that just occurred.

In an unknown location an ancient aura flared awake for a brief moment before disappearing as if all was an illusion.

---

Seven months passed in a blink.

Now, a seven-month-old Alex could be seen standing at the edge of a beautiful garden. Yes, standing and even walking on his own. This abnormal development hadn't gone unnoticed by Amelia, his mother, but she simply just remain silent —which, of course drew Alex curiosity."Is it normal in this world for babies to stand this early on" he wondered as not only his mother but even his caretakers didn't show any abnormal form of surprise. Shrugging he Puts the thought back of his mind, instead he refocused on his goals

In these months, Alex achieved several things:

First, concerning the system and the purple streak of light which he instinctively knew as primordial energy, which drew several questions from him but as there is no answer he left it.

"There's just too many mysteries concerning the purple energy and the system, and I can't solve it by shiting my self and calling out for someone to wipe me"

Sigh.... i need power, influence and judging from the system appearance I also need strength.

No!, I only need strength, strength is what give power and influence",

Back on earth authority and influence is determined by money and still yet I was at the bottom, never again this life will be different, this world should be different, either way I will have it, all of it!, I won't be average in this life, never!!" Alex bellowed as his voice rose towards the end.

But as still being a seven month old baby, being unable to talk what came out was a bunch of blabs and gibberish.

Feeling the weird gaze around him after his passionate exclamation,Alex blushed before quickly calming down and pretending nothing happened.

Secondly,he secretly learned how to understand and read the language, thanks to the children's books left in his room.

Third, he realized just how rich his family was and how technologically advanced it is—the number of maids, the luxurious decorations, the vastness of the mansion... it all pointed to wealth.

Just thinking about it made him giggle sheepishly, earning yet another odd glances from the maids.

Third, he figured he needed knowledge and knowledge is also a form of power.and to do that he need access to places with the books, but aside from his room and the garden he hasn't really explored the mansion yet.

Deciding on his next step, Alex sat down beside a sunflower sinking deep in thought.

Sitting upright on his cradle, Alex sighed.

"If I read one more picture book, I swear I'll lose brain cells," he thought.

He needed proper books. Real knowledge. Understanding the world's history and background was essential.

Four more months passed.

Alex now one years old had a better grasp of the mansion's layout. He discovered there were areas he couldn't access: the main hall, his father's study, what he suspected was the library, and, of course, the world beyond the mansion's gates.

He sat upright in his cradle one evening, rubbing his tiny fingers against his chin—a habit from his past life.

"I'm stuck. No progress."

The picture books were unbearable. Sneaking into the restricted areas was still impossible. He needed another plan.

His observant eyes tracked the maids. They adored him, doted on him, and treated him as a precious young master. None suspected the sharp mind hidden behind those babyish eyes.

"If I can't get to the books... I'll make the books come to me."

He decided to act.

---

A few days later, when Amelia came to visit, Alex stretched out his little arms and spoke sweetly:

"Ma... book."

Amelia blinked in surprise. "Do you want Mommy to read to you?"

Alex nodded vigorously, pointing at the shelves of children's books. Amelia smiled warmly and picked one up.

However, when she began reading, Alex pouted, shaking his head dramatically.

"No... big book."

Amelia stared. "Big book? You mean... a grown-up book?"

Alex nodded again.

She hesitated. A baby asking for an adult book? Strange—but considering how fast Alex was developing, perhaps he was simply a genius. With a soft chuckle, she ruffled his hair.

"Alright, my little scholar. I'll find you a 'big book.' But don't blame Mommy if it's boring!"

Alex grinned inwardly.

Mission is a go!.

---

A few hours later, Amelia returned with a simple history book.

It wasn't a treasure trove of knowledge, but it was a start. Alex eagerly listened, absorbing everything like a starving man.

Through Amelia's gentle reading, he finally learned the name of the world he had been reborn into:

Profound Expanse.

The name echoed through Alex's mind. A vast, ancient, mysterious world teeming with powers and secrets.

As Amelia continued, Alex discovered that people in this world awakened unique talents at a certain age, which determined their future potential.

Talents were everything. Without one, an individual was doomed to mediocrity.

But with the right talent, one could rise above all others and rule over kingdoms.

Talents ranks ranged from F all the way to SSS+ and beyond. The stronger the talent, the greater one's future achievements.

Alex's small fists clenched in excitement.

"A world built around talent..."

"Hehe..."

A fire burned quietly in his heart.

That night, after Amelia left and the lights dimmed, Alex made a silent vow to himself:

> "I won't just be another talent wielder. I'll become the one standing above all."

.....

Meanwhile, elsewhere in the sprawling estate, Amelia moved briskly through illuminated corridors lined with luxurious decorations

The night was deep, and most of the mansion's occupants and maids has retreated to their slumber, leaving only the night guards keeping watch. She passed under archways where translucent fiber curtains shimmered in shifting colors, a subtle reminder of the Mansions wealth.

Her destination: the study room, a restricted room where high-level formatioms and technology protect the room

Arriving before a reinforced alloywood doo Amelia stood before the door as it slid open.

Inside, the scent of green tea and old books and parchment greeted her.

Avalon walker—her husband, the current Patriarch of House walker—sat behind a sleek desk of crystallized aetherstone, surrounded by floating holographic displays sipping his tea.

Sharp sliver eyes met hers, eyes that radiated a powerful aura and demands respect and authority.

"You're up late," Amelia said, a soft note of reproach in her voice.

Avalon tapped a few commands on the air, causing the holograms to flicker and vanish. "And you're here even later," he replied, smiling faintly. "What brings you, my starlight?"

Amelia stepped closer, taking a sit in front, she met his gaze.

"I wanted to talk about Alex," she said, her voice serious now.

Avalon straightened subtly. "What about him?"

Amelia's eyes gleamed with a mix of pride and uncertainty. "He's... Odd, sometimes he behaves like a normal baby other times he.

she paused, taking in a breath" he acts like he could understand what we are saying, the way he looks around isn't like that of an infant unfocus look but more sort of a curious gaze that sometime suddenly twinkle like he just had an idea".

Avalon blinked once—a rare show of surprise.

"At one years old?"

Amelia nodded. "It's beyond normal. His mind... it's operating very differently from an average infant, it's more like innate intelligents".

Avalon rose silently, walking toward the massive window-wall that overlooked the estate's private garden—a well maintained garden taken care of by professionals with appropriate talent.

He stood there for a long moment, hands clasped behind his back.

"This confirms it," he said finally.

Amelia stepped beside him, her voice dropping. "Is it really true? As the time come Avalon"

Avalon nodded, his expression grim.

"A talent like his will be seen as a prize—and as a threat," he said. "Until all this is confirmed we say nothing of his intelligence, we say nothing. Not to the council. Not to the overseers. Not even to the trusted retainers."

He turned to face her fully, sliver eyes burning with determination.

"Our son is... The beginning of something new, A force the Profound Expanse has yet to see. And I will not let the vultures tear him apart before he even has a chance to soar."

In the distance, high above the estate's protective barrier, the shimmering outline of other megacities floated lazily through the night sky—testaments to a world where ancient bloodlines and futuristic wonders coexisted in fragile balance.

Tonight, within the quiet of the walkers estate, the seeds of a future beyond imagination had been sown.
