Chapter 404 - Chapter 404: Knowledge Beyond Realms

The classification and identification of these books all fell on the shoulders of the Ancient One. Most magical tomes were so mystical that, aside from him, no one else possessed the focus to even comprehend them, let alone organize and catalog them.

For this reason, Shin also wrote numerous ninjutsu scrolls for the Ancient One particularly ones on sealing techniques, space-time ninjutsu, and several secret arts derived from Yin-Yang Release as a gift in return.

Of course, Shin had his own motives. Although the Naruto world boasted many prodigies, none could compare with the Ancient One in terms of mastery over the mystic arts. If he could convert ninjutsu into magic, then the theoretical framework could be reversed, and magic could in turn be adapted into ninjutsu. With this specific concept in mind, the process of assimilating the myriad spells of Kamar-Taj would naturally accelerate.

Kamar-Taj housed a vast number of spells. It took the Ancient One a full six months to sort through all the books that could potentially be converted into a form usable by ninjas and then deliver them to Shin.

In contrast, Shin needed only half a month to organize most of the ninjutsu from the Shinobi world. This wasn't due to a lack of variety in ninjutsu but because all ninjutsu could be traced back to a single foundational system which is chakra.

Magic in Marvel comics was different. Since mana was often borrowed from external entities, and with each demonic dimension possessing distinct energy, the spells were bizarre, disjointed, and wildly diverse.

If ninjutsu was akin to a coherent skill tree, then the spells of the Marvel Universe were like an entire forest, where no two trees were of the same species. Naturally, this made them far more difficult to study and organize.

Shin had assumed the Ancient One would give him an entire room full of books. To his surprise, he simply handed him a small USB flash drive.

By comparison, when Shin looked at the sealing scroll he had written which was several meters long and only served as a directory containing many other sealed scrolls he couldn't help but feel slightly foolish.

'The Ancient One, a sorcerer who's lived for centuries, actually uses a USB flash drive. And here I am still relying on sealing scrolls?'

After receiving the data, Shin immediately returned to the Naruto world and summoned all the members of the Akatsuki using the virtual space.

Casually, he plugged the USB drive into the Red Queen-enhanced computer. Instantly, the wall behind Shin transformed into a massive projector screen displaying various Kamar-Taj spells, all translated into the language and concepts of the Shinobi world.

"These are things I acquired from other universes. Take a look and see if you can convert them into usable ninjutsu."

"Oh, and there's something else." Shin pulled out data on the Super Soldier Serum and handed it to Orochimaru, Tsunade, and other experts in human biology. "This serum is designed to enhance the human body. However, keep in mind that the physiology in that universe isn't identical to ours, so there's room for further study."

As soon as he finished speaking, the Akatsuki members erupted into animated discussion. Several researchers were visibly intrigued.

Orochimaru licked his lips. "Ninjutsu from another universe? Sounds very interesting."

Tsunade leaned on the table, flipping through the projections with an uninterested expression. "What a hassle. This serum doesn't look easy to reproduce."

Orochimaru grinned and explained, "The Super Soldier Serum not only strengthens the body but also prolongs youth and increases lifespan. There's also a derivative called the Infinity Formula."

"Although the Infinity Formula doesn't enhance physical abilities as drastically and must be administered continuously to maintain its effects, it's still highly valuable. It keeps a person perpetually young. Immortality might be uncertain, but living for several hundred years? Absolutely possible."

Hearing that, Tsunade immediately sat upright, enlarged the projection, and began studying the data closely. "Now that's a real research topic. I'm in!"

Although Tsunade possessed the Yin Seal, which allowed her to maintain her youthful appearance, the deterioration of her internal bodily functions was undeniable. Anti-aging medical techniques could, at best, keep her body in the condition of someone in her forties or fifties. They couldn't directly enhance her life force. The idea of a serum that could keep her forever young was more than enough to spark her interest.

Orochimaru's eyes gleamed. If Tsunade was motivated by the idea of eternal youth, then Orochimaru was utterly consumed by a raw desire for longevity.

Now, the line between life and death in the Shinobi world has grown increasingly blurred. Due to the virtual space, even ninjas who had long since passed could appear in certain illusory environments.

But whether it was the real world or the Red Queen's digital book world powered by her fruit ability, neither allowed for actual interaction with souls they could only exist as data-based illusions.

While the modern ninja world possessed several rebirth techniques, concerns about ethics and the consequences of using them meant Shin and the Red Queen had deliberately restricted access to such methods.

Even with massive computational support, the virtual space still differed from the real world. Once reduced to a soul in the virtual space, advanced ninjutsu experiments could no longer be performed.

For Orochimaru, this was a massive loss. The last thing he wanted was to die. Ideally, he wished to live for tens of thousands of years.

Thus, even after extending his lifespan significantly through various body modifications, he remained intensely interested in the serum.

However, seeing Tsunade already taking charge of the project, Orochimaru didn't argue.

He still trusted in Tsunade's abilities and when it came to pharmacology, serums, and cellular research, she was likely even more skilled than he was.

He firmly believed Tsunade would crack the formula. It would be redundant for both of them to study it, so instead, Orochimaru turned his attention to the Kamar-Taj spells.

Although he'd only seen a fraction, Orochimaru was already astonished by their scope. Magic in the Marvel world was rich and varied. Beyond spells that tapped into external sources, many offered profound insights into life, time, space, souls, dimensions, and energy itself.

And because the magical system was so fragmented, many spells were shrouded in confusion. It was far harder to master than ninjutsu.

Fortunately, while organizing the spells, the Ancient One had also studied the Shinobi world's chakra system and proposed some foundational pathways for converting simple ninjutsu into spells. Without that framework, researching these spells would have been far more difficult.
